Tarneem Sami, a mother of three, lives in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood of Gaza. She lost her husband, Ahmed, who never returned after going out to bring food for their family. As the bombings intensified, Tarneem was forced to flee from northern Gaza to Rafah and then to Deir al-Balah, where she now lives with her children in a tent that barely protects them from the winter cold.

Each day, she wakes up to the cries of her hungry children, their eyes filled with fear and sorrow. With no money to buy food or medicine, Tarneem fears losing her children just as she lost her husband. Despite everything she has endured, she holds on to a small glimmer of hope that someone will hear her plea and help save her children from hunger and disease.
