A little after Clockwork adopted Danny he decided to throw a "family reunion" to introduce him to his new siblings and nieces and nephews. Admittedly, he did forget that he never apologized for the time he went crazy with power and ate his kids until he received a response from his oldest, Hestia, asking him if this was a plot of some kind. (She also seemed to be open to reconciliation though, so he was hopeful)
Wonder Woman had been chatting with Hawkwoman when a glowing green envelope appeared on the table in front of her with her name on it.
When young ghosting are extremely tired or have exhausted their core too much, whether it be from fighting or just using up too much ectoplasm, they can merge with their parent in the ghost zone. The core of their parent and the welcoming warmth it gave often allowed for fast recoveries. Dani was too weak even with her eco-shots and Danny allowed her to rest inside him until she was one hundred percent again.
One minor thing was that even with the core, there's still a bit of a change that's physically noriceable. And while ghosts and those of the Infinite Realms understood, humans often didn't.
Which was why Danny was met with mortified and angry gazes when he appeared to the next Justice League meeting with Dani resting inside of him. It didn't help with how bad he explained the situation either.
Clark: Bruce that's illegal!
Bruce: there's no one else on the road, what do you want?
Hal: how is it that he doesn't have powers and yet drive like a suicidal maniac!
Oliver: Well bold of you to assume he's not a suicidal maniac.
Diana: that was reassuring.
Donna: oh for the love of gods, Grayson, stop that!
Dick *sprawled over 3 different titans eating the batburger and making a mess*: stop what?
Titans: Ughhhh...
Dinah: i'm gonna puke. If you don't stop this,i'm gonna puke right on your lap and i won't even apologise because it'll be your fault.
Barbara:
Barbara: you know what? Fuck you too. And i can puke on call, so don't think i won't get back.
Barbara: *speeds up on a switchback*
Jason: you stupid bitch, don't you see we have right of way?!?!
---
Jason: we're on a fucking highway! Stop driving like you're next to a kindergarden, you fucker!
---
Jason: what a dick! We should just hit him. This baby can take that!
Artemis: SHUT THE FUCK UP!
Roy: i hate to do that, but I agree with her
Tim: oh my god it's a... (insert a rant about a very specific model of a car that Tim dreamed of having as a 13 years old)
Bart: ...what?
Cassie: yeah, i have no idea what's going on too, buddy...
That one au of mine where Danny got his accident at 5-10 we'll go with 10 here) and got reshaped or possessed his teddy bear that he brought with him.
Except this time, he didn't get shat out into the ghost zone and he's just on the floor of his parents lab. When Jack and Maddie find out about this, they were, at first, enthralled by his existence.
Before realizing that that's the teddy bear they gave their son for his 5th birthday, and the portal was on, and the Teddy Bear was moving.
Their son was the one to turn on the portal, and he was nowhere to be seen.
They kept a close eye on Danny's toy while searching the ghost zone for their son. The amount of interest they had in it was almost overwhelming, yet whenever they looked at it, they just, couldn't bring themselves to do anything to it.
After multiple expeditions without success, and the suspicious amount of men in white suits approaching their daughter, they decided to send her over to Jack's brother over in Gotham.
One Waylon Jones.
Jazz vouched to take the Teddy bear with her too, and the Fenton's allowed it. Jazz was the only one who managed to realize that Danny was the Teddy Bear, and that they were searching when he was right under their noses.
When they get to Gotham, Waylon is a bit... stunned, to hear that his nephew was a teddy bear, but it honestly wasn't the weirdest thing he's heard so he just rolled with it.
Danny likes to hang over his uncle's shoulder, or sit it on. Makes him feel tall :D
Red Hood has been spotted doing something that made his reputation take quite the hit.
Walk around with a teddy bear riding on his shoulders.
Now, did Jason give any fucks about his reputation right now? No, not one, because he found a friend that he thought he wouldn't see again.
You see, after Jason died, he manifested as a ghost in the Infinite Realms, there he met a sentient Teddy Bear that he became fast friends with.
After having been revived, however, he no longer saw them. At least until today, where they appeared out of nowhere and looked exactly the same as he saw them last.
A shoulder ride, for old times sake.
Tim, officially, does not have a new caretaker.
Tim, unofficially, does have a new caretaker.
A large, large man with long flaming purple hair that was capable of touching the floor if it didn't move like fire with sharp glowing green eyes and a neutral, if a bit of a resting bitch face, expression on his face.
Comparatively, he was not dressed oddly. Nothing but a white compression shirt, grey sweatpants and a pair of black sandals. The only thing odd about it was the sword constantly strapped to his waist, though Tim ignored it when he saw the man using it to chop ingredients.
Fright, he called himself, and Tim never asked if it was his actual name or not. He was just glad someone came over as constantly as he does.
He doesn't know where the man goes at night, after making sure he's tucked into bed and asleep, but he never pried. Mostly because he wasn't supposed to know that, and he doesn't want Fright to catch onto the fact that he was constantly sneaking out at night either.
So they'll both keep their secrets.
===
Fright Knight was at a loss with himself.
His master, Pariah Dark, had been once again released from the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep and he wasted no time to return to his side. Even with his previous betrayl.
The events that followed were unexpected.
His master did not continue his eons long war with life. Though it had long since turned silent with his imprisonment, it was still brewing under the current of 'peace' that the Ghost Zone fell into.
Fright Knight knew that well.
So, what exactly was he supposed to do when his master returned to his time as naught but a humble farmer and started to rebuild the bridge he had long burnt with the Master of Time?
He felt... conflicted.
Of course, reconnecting with the Ghost of Time was a good thing, and he has been subject to witness just how much passion they had for each other during days long past.
But his master picking up a life that was not one honed through blood was always an odd thing for him to experience. Two peas in a pod, as some would say they were.
War and Fear.
Where War went, Fear followed. Rivers of flowing blood with storms of fear promised was something too tempting for him to resist.
Fear was a sword, and he was War's blade.
So it was not something easy for him to adjust to when War settled down into peace and sought prosperity instead of his namesake. Of course, he, as always, adjusted regardless of the situation and followed his master in his newest endeavor.
It was much harder to preserve a life, than it was to end it. They both came to realize. On his master's part, farming was something he pondered over and donned for a brief time eons ago, the new methods of today clashing wildly with what little he knew of the activity before War sung to him again. For Fright Knight, he had not a single nail's worth of experience in the act, never having had an interest like War did and as such, never learned.
It felt rather odd to use his blade to cut gifts from the land, but if he replaced them with images of enemies long since snuffed, it wasn't exactly hard.
He could not stay there for long; however, it was just too... different, from what he was used to. The Ghost King knew this and told him he was free to be left to his own devices so long as it did not affect the rules the Master of Time had set for them.
Or rather, War. But as Fear was in his service, he was not exactly exempt from said constraints, either.
So he wandered, keeping to his 'human' persona he was told to set for himself here. He was thankful that these beings called Meta's existed as no one gave him more than a second glance.
Though if that was more something to do with his height he did not know.
He came upon a city, one of shadows and filled with curses in numbers that even made him pause in slight bafflement. Lady Gotham, the city's spirit, brushed against him as soon as he stepped foot within her haunt, and it did not take long for them to reach and accord.
Fear was allowed to stay, so long as he did not do anything she did not permit. He was fine with said rules, after all, what was another constraint compared to those set by Time itself?
He had a favorable view of this city, just the ambient fear alone made it worth stepping inside. It was better than War's attempt at peace, though it was nothing due to the being itself he was just... used to being surrounded by fear.
Then he met a human child by the name of Timothy Drake. A meeting by chance and nothing else, but he did need something to do by Lady Gotham's suggestion.
So he became the boy's 'caretaker' though if he were a good one was something he could not comment on.
He did not need sleep, his new ward did, so when night fell, he always stepped out of the city to go back to his master and reappeared the next morning.
The thing about his new master's attempt at peace, was that he was quite willing to give away the gifts he received from the land. Which was helpful, considering he had no idea how to acquire money in this new age.
Bruce: ALRIGHT. FAMILY MEETING. NOW. *sits down in an armchair, and frowns at the assorted children he’s collected, plus an amused Alfred*
Bruce: Just because I leave the house without you, does NOT mean you have permission to reenact Home Alone with your siblings, assorted pets, and dubious friends.
Tim: *blinking innocently* Who would do a thing like that?
Jason: *staring* You still have an iron imprint on your forehead, moron.
Tim: Ooooh, that explains the headache and double vision.
Bruce: YOU ACTUALLY HIT HIM WITH AN IRON?!
Duke: He volunteered for it, for the sake of authenticity.
Bruce:……..
Cass: We also zapped Jason.
Bruce: WHAT.
Jason: Hey, like I was gonna turn down free electroshock therapy. I’m not that stupid, old man.
Bruce:………..when did my house turn into the Wayne Asylum for the Deranged?
Alfred: I believe it was when you first decided that dressing up as a bat was a proper alternative for therapy, sir.
Bruce: Oh. Ouch.
The kids: OOOOH BURN!
Tim: Like my forehead! 😃
Bruce: Someone haul him down to the med bay please.
So he was out training, like Clockwork told him to do. He was just observing and trying to "understand the fleeting nature of realities", looking over the dimensions scattered in the Space Between Spaces.
When he got a little attached to one.
It was a dimension with heroes and villains, and because one of the heroes that was based on speed kept making changes to the timeline, it was about to shatter. The fragments of it would be tossed to similar Dimensions, and the surrounding closest ones were already reaching out to grab bits and pieces of it. The one Dimension he really, really liked checking in on would be gone.
Danny...kind of just picked it up.
Removed it from the dimensions trying to absorb it, isolated it from the same flow of time and space that connected it to the others.
Snuck it into his lair.
Annnnnd shoved it into a broom closet before the Observants or Clockwork could realize what he did.
He just needs to keep it hidden and then all the people he likes will be fine!
Meanwhile, the Flash Family find themselves unable to use the Speedforce, and no matter how much research they do, they cannot figure out why.
Soooo this hit me earlier-
Phantom and Robin (Dick) being friends, maybe meet during a Teen Titan mission and Robin never told the Adult Leaguers about Phantom and his city cause Phantom asked him not too? Perhaps not wanting someone to get possessed or just Jaded Amity from someone not taking their calls seriously.
Anyway- Dick doesn't hear from Phantom for years, possibly both accidently drop out of contact due to hectic lives on both sides, Dick jut getting started as Nightwing and Phantom is dealing with the GIW.
Not until Tim is Robin and both YJ and TT are thrown off by this strange glowing entity shows up at the Tower bleeding Lazarus Water and asking for Nightwing.
Dick is surprised over how much Phantom had changed. Gone was the hazmat suit and short frame. Now his old friend was nearly taller then him, still built for aerial flight yet it was as if his limbs were just a tad too long the more he looked. Especially when he noticed the ragged claws that poked through his ripped gloves...
Which makes him realize the hazmat suit wasn't gone, it was simply ripped and torn to rags and Phantom had patched it with other materials or simply wrapped bandages around the exposed parts and was wearing a tattered purple cloak over the rest. It also drew his attention to how inhuman Phantom now looked, how wide and feral his eyes were-how now they were fully radioactive green swirling with electric blue, how his skin was stretched tight over muscles and cracked in some places which were blackened with frostbite, how his smile was filled with sharp teeth and stretched just too wide to be normal, his face now wrapped in bandages partially as if to hide how inhuman he had become, the bandages blending in with his long white hair that crackled like electricity and flaked like snow or the tail of a comet. How he was only shorter then Nightwing due to standing hunched over and how twisted his legs looked when not a ghostly tail.
Something had happened and it had drastically changed the protective Ghost.
Nightwing: Phantom-
Danny: *grimace* I go by Wraith now...
Nightwing paused as he realized that his friends voice now sounded like the shattering of ice mixed with the howls of mountain winds.
Nightwing: ...Danny why are you here?
Wraith sighs and hands him a cloth covered bundle which Nightwing unwrapped to reveal a glowing dagger made of green metal that would look like Kryptonite if not for the darker green.
Wraith: The GIW...they wiped Amity off the map...everyone is gone
Nightwing: Danny...we can help
Wraith: *shakes head* No...I need you to only do one thing...after I take them down..
Nightwing: No
Wraith: *closes Nightwings hands over th dagger ignoring how his own skin sizzles from being so close* I need you to end me.
Wraith leaves as Nightwing protests: I'll be at our spot once it's over.
More DpxDc sleepy rambles!
What if blob ghost were more like bees than bottom feeders?
Like, they go around collecting small amounts of ectoplasm from everywhere, even environments that don't have a lot to give, and take it back to a 'hive' to stockpile. Only, because they are ghosts and not actually bees, they usually gather more than they need to survive. This would make them a lifeline for any ghost that stays in the material plane. If they're stuck in a place devoid of ambient ecto, they just have to find a blob ghost and follow them back to their hive!
But what happens when the ambient ecto is contaminated, like a bee collecting sugar from a non-natural source? You get contaminated honey(ecto), which can't sustain a ghost long term. Wether the blobs fade due to lack of proper nutrition, or they leave to make a new hive in a less toxic environment, they end up leaving the contaminated ecto behind. These abandoned hives are Lazarus pits.
(Sorry if this makes 0 sense, I'm super tired and my head hurts. But I needed to talk about the bee blobs)
I have thought of an AU. Imagine if the lamb didn’t make the Bishops their followers. What if after the fight, the Bishops were sent into a deep sleep and woke up when the humanoid animals went all extinct and now humans roamed the world. They Bishops are now small, weak and almost powerless. They have to slowly regain the power of their crowns before taking over again but then they are all found by humans, some who decide to take them in and take care of them. Well, at least most of them are taken in. Narinder would not let himself be adopted.
AU is basically a ‘What if the Bishops were normal ish animals and had humans to care for them?’ Shamura would be the pet tarantula of a genius yet overly stressed college student. Kallamar be living in an aquarium and one of the workers, a young adult, there cares for him a lot. Narinder is a stray cat that is often aggressive towards people but eventually warms up to one person, a chill schooler. Heket is a fat frog who be treated like queen cause frogs are the best by a rather hyper middle schooler. And Leshy is taken in as a pet by a primary school student.
Who would these characters be? Idk, it’s up for interpretation, it’s an open AU and anyone can use it. Do whatever you want, the humans be placeholders in my eyes until I figure something out but hey, I hope this can be fun for someone! Just imagine having a wise spider, a scared squid, an angy kitty, an even angrier frog and an arrogant worm! It be chaos and I love it!
(If anyone does end up using this idea, please do credit me and tag me cause I would love to see the way you would write about them)
