I did a paper on this in highschool, and it’s 100% true that video games help prevent the onset of dementia.

But these people don’t care about that. It’s just that video games to them are too new. They want to find things to blame “the problem of today’s youth” on. But low education standards and the like aren’t new. They also aren’t easy to fix. So you’ll hear claims like how it rots your brain. Or how games cause violence. It doesn’t matter if it’s true- it is just so they feel like there’s an easy solution in reach.
