Timeline is very kooky, so don’t think too much about it.

But imagine New York being under attack.. by a mummy. It’s something the Avengers have never faced, nor did they think they’d ever face, but here one is wreaking havoc by means they’re not used to.

And then imagine Darcy watching the footage and sitting on the edge of her seat, only to see who/what the villain is and saying, “Ugh. Mummies. I hate mummies.” And Jane and Pepper just kind of stare at her and she shrugs. “What? If you knew who my Dad was, you’d understand.”

Cut to the team returning banged up, having lost track of the mummy and Jane throwing Darcy under the bus by saying Darcy might know something about mummies they didn’t. Everyone turns to Darcy and she sighs yet again, “If you want answers, we’re going to have to make a trip to the Sahara Desert. Dad will know what’s going on or at least who to point you to.”

So the team makes the trip and as they ride camel back to where Darcy directs them, they stumble upon Darcy’s dad- 

-the Medjai chieftain that her mother had a fling with once upon a time while passing through England. (I placed him in England ‘cause he was there for the O’Connells during Mummy 2).
