Love these dogs so much
I’m rewatching the L’Manburg revolution vods and losing my shit over how this is a FUCKING MINECRAFT ROLEPLAY
“You can describe what makes a man strong, but you can’t describe what makes a man wise.”
“You know what we have that they don’t have? We have camaraderie. We have a righteous cause. We have an area to defend. Do you know what he’s driven by? Greed. Do you know what we’re driven by? The defense of our land.”
“Until the day we stop breathing, that is when L’Manburg has fallen. He can destroy the walls. He can slaughter our friends, our family. But until the day we stop breathing, and the moment we let go of that dream we have of a self-emancipated nation, that is when he has won. Men, are you going to let go of that dream?”
“Independence, or death. If we get no revolution, then we want nothing.”
There is an entire scene where Wilbur has Fundy read “Ozymandias” and foreshadows the entire L’Manburg arc???
so i was watching tommys stream right? and wilbur, like real life wilbur the person, brought up an interesting point. and that’s why is tommy lonely?
and i found that interesting because its a fair point. why is he lonely, especially from a writers perspective, which is what wilbur was asking from
because tommy is sad, theres no arguing about that. and he has ample reason to be sad, but to claim hes lonely is a different story. hes been visited by people almost everyday (mostly dream, but the others visit too, and also PM him) and also he keeps getting presents from people whenever they come and visit him
tubbo is basically the only person who hasn’t come to visit him, but wil also pointed out thats kind of a vapid reason for this extreme loneliness hes feelling, which is true
but i think its more the sudden lack of attention that tommys feeling. he, as a character, has essentially been the Main Character for the majority of the smp lore. yes, other characters have been important, but tommy has gotten used to being the centre of attention. hes gotten used to and dependent on the power of being ‘important’, and now that hes an option, for tubbo and for everyone else, he doesn’t know what to do (dream also fits into this in a way, but ill have to get into that in a different post lol)
hes realizing hes not the priority to other people, and im pretty sure thats just completely upended his worldview (remember, hes the “hero” that always comes out on top, that everything works out for) because hes facing consequences for his actions, and they suck. like they’re not fun
and its different from the first time, because now hes being exiled by himself, by his best friend, as a direct response to his actions, and people are just kinda going with it (its also a much more thorough exile than last time)
so its not that tommy doesn’t have friends, or that he is lonely because no ones isn’t visiting, or that people dislike him (which is an idea that he believes at this point), its that his ‘normal’ for how people treat him, and how they interact with him is so skewed that he only thinks people like him if he gets all of their attention and is their number one priority and is special.
hes not used to this feeling of being by himself, and because he doesn’t know what it is, hes labelled it as loneliness
oh my god all i can think about is the spiderverse. it is consuming my waking thoughts.
Tbh, I hope the narrative isn't getting swayed by all the c!Tommy hate from the fandom. Cause like, we know Tommy frequents Reddit and Twitter, and there's a lot of c!Tommy hate there from what I've heard, to the point where he's had to defend his character, on stream, and just.... it would make me so upset if he's getting discouraged on his dsmp character simply because some dipshits refuse to understand it. Like, his character is amazing and very well developed, and I hope he just..... realizes that. And is proud of that. Cause he should be. And I hope the other ccs acknowledge that, too.

i just think it’d be neat if the next time tommy goes to the prison, one of the many documents sam gives him to sign are adoption papers
When I buy a house I am going to put a huge antenna on my roof and start an illegal radio station
we're fucked
physically i’m here. mentally i’m in the hollowed out trunk of an ancient oak. i do not move, moss grows over me and i become a part of the forest. animals walk past me without fear, for i am not a threat. i photosynthesize and live as one with nature. we, the forest, are at peace.
I said it in a reblog of another post and I'll say it here now, "you're too fun" is the slimiest most skin crawling sentence ever uttered on this godforsaken smp. Because it not only implies that not only was all of the betrayal, violence, and mistrust all a fun little game for dream, but also puts his treatment of tommy in Logstedshire in an entirely different light. Abuse is awful no matter what reason, and what dream did was inexcusable, but it was almost easier to analyze and break down, because, in the end, it was supposed to teach tommy a lesson about questioning his authority. You gotta crack a few defiant eggs to make an obedient and traumatized little omelette, right? "You're too fun" throws that all out the fucking window. Because now, instead of tommy's abuse being dream thinking of it as a "necessary evil" in order to keep the smp under his control, it's literally just dream dumping the carton of eggs on the ground and mashing the ruined yolks with his heel. He blew up tommy's items for fun. He broke tommy's spirit for fun. He drove him to the end of every ledge imaginable and still didn't let him jump, for fun. Tommy's mind twisting it so that dream was his friend was probably just an extra, fun little game mechanic that he could mess with. Tommy's suffering was worth absolutely nothing, in the end, because it never meant anything to dream beyond playing a game. Tommy's triumphant speech about dream being scared of him feels less like a realization of his power now and more like a desperate attempt to make their game mean something, anything, to dream. Now, it's clear that manipulating tubbo into exiling tommy was only an excuse to make his game more interestjng. If there was ever any doubts about dream being the most evil person on the server, "you're too fun" squashes them. Because what's more villainous than making people suffer, and then telling them on no uncertain terms that their suffering was for nothing?
