My SCSI and NVME drives get a holy day of rest every week. For SATAday.
The concept of "spyware" has disappeared from the common internet lingo after it became the case that the word could now be used to describe nearly every major website and a huge percentage of the most commonly-used software.
Harry Potter is fucking unsalvageable at this point and it doesn't matter how much you seperate yourself from the artist/author when the author's bigotry and transmisogyny heavily overshadows anything in that mediocre book.
at this point it signifies that you are complicit in the genocide of trans people, especially trans women and that you don't care that Rowling is profiting off of HP while pushing for the removal of our existence.
love our trans sisters, especially trans sisters of color, more than this fuck ass book.
In less than 12 hours we'll be checked in for surgery!!
Cops are trained to be bad. Anyone who insists on being good is not welcome.
Tonight was a good night :)
In a town a few hours from me, there is an event called Sparkle that I go to every year. And ever year we get all dressed up to take pictures.
Two years ago, Beatrice picked our outfit.
Last year, Monday picked our outfit.
And this year after a brief wardrobe crisis, our original host Emily/Tink, who is still a little four year old, wanted to pick out what we wore. We wore a pink dress with puffed up sleeves and a petticoat, and a tiara, and beautiful iridescent wings.
This is the third time Emily/Tink has fronted after she stopped being the host when the body was four. She never felt safe in the world.
But tonight we wore a pink dress and a tiara, and when I co-fronted with her during the event, she got showered with nothing but compliments, there were little girls running up to hug us and take pictures, and thinking we were a Princess.
And Emily/Tink got to see the lights on the trees and hand out candy to kids and she just had an amazing, amazing day.
And after all that, I think the best thing is, that while that day had such an impact on us, it will also have an impact on those little kids. They will get to one day look back on those pictures and hopefully remember just as magical and special a time as we had.
I am so happy that this is the third reunion Emily/Tink had with the world. And I hope that remembering seeing the lights will comfort her, even if she never fronts again.
She finally had one good night.
I'm not anti-AI because all art needs to have a soul or whatever. I'm anti AI because it's making my clinicians dependent on the internet in a place that loses power often. I'm anti AI because I've seen it miss things a technician would have caught on microscopy. I'm anti-AI because it's killed my patients.
Medical AI software companies are rolling things out too quickly and making promises they can't keep. We're buying into it because capitalism is demanding everyone work faster on more patients but refuses to provide more staff or more support.
If it's bad enough that I'm seeing it in veterinary medicine, I'm terrified about what that means for patient care in humans.
I love those "asking cosplayers at a con what their day job is" videos because it's always like
