“Was any of it real?” Lalo asked. “Did you ever care for me at all?” When Nacho didn’t respond, Lalo softened his tone. “Please, Ignacio. You owe me that much.”

Nacho took Lalo’s right hand gently in his own and traced the imprint the cuff had left on his wrist. “Would you believe me if I said yes?”

Lalo looked into his eyes, trying to fathom the fathomless. “I don’t know,” he admitted.

Reign in Hell, Chapter 8 - Hail Infernal World

“When does everyone get here?” Lalo asked when they’d finished eating.

“I told them lunch. They’re staying the night—Yolanda’s set up the servant’s quarters. Don’t think anyone’s going to want to stay in the guest house, even if we could get the smell out.” He glanced at the clock. “Marco and Leonel should be here any minute though.”

Lalo blinked. “You called them?”

Nacho folded his arms. “Of course I called them. They need to know what’s going on.”

It was true enough, but Lalo still felt a pit in his stomach. “And which version of the truth did you tell them?”

“They know we’re working with Fring.”

“And what did they say?”

Nacho shrugged. “Not much.” His voice softened. “Marco just asked what I needed.”

The pit in Lalo’s stomach grew larger. “And what do you need?”

“Reminders to the plaza bosses of our power, before they get any ideas. Everyone knows what Marco and Leonel are capable of. Besides, they’re Salamancas. They should be here. This is their empire too now.”

“And that’s all you want from them?” When Nacho didn’t answer, Lalo pressed further. “You aren’t going to fuck them again, are you?”

Nacho shifted in his seat and shrugged.

A cold anger brewed in him. “You want to punish me more—is that it?”

Nacho snorted. “You might find this hard to believe, but not everything is about you.”

“Then why?” He hit the table. “Ignacio, no! I will not stand for it!”

“Did you take too many of those pain pills, or can you just not get it through your thick fucking skull?” Nacho snarled. He pinched the bridge of his nose before continuing in a more measured tone. “Just so we’re perfectly clear—you don’t get a say in what I do anymore. No one does. Not Tuco, not Hector, not Fring—” He leaned forward and gave Lalo’s injured shoulder a hard tap, right on the bullet wound. “—and not you.”

Lalo was too stunned to react. Nacho stood. “Just shut up and do as you’re told. If you’re really good, maybe I’ll let you watch.”

Lalo stared at Nacho’s retreating back and rubbed his shoulder. That had really hurt.

Me trying to get through 2020

My unfinished drawing of Nacho that I haven’t been doing in FOREVER since quarantine cuz of art block and life stuff but I can say that I improved some even tho I haven’t drawn him in two months and it shocks me how good this actually is for once. But yeah it’s a beat up Nacho with a black eye, sleep deprived eye, cuts on his nose, and a busted lip Incase if it is that bad.

This makes a lot of sense 👌

so um theory about why vaas and citra don't look like your typical pacific islanders and why do they speak with different accents

first of all one of their parents is hispanic/latino so they're biracial and vaas looks more like hispanic/latino parent while citra looks a bit more like the pacific parent

LANGUAGES

theory is that on the rook they have like a super closed like monastery thing and they priest(ess)s have their own language or don't speak any language other people outside the monastery speak and Citra was sent there kinda early in life so she spoke that language the majority of her life so she simply does not remember much of english and doesn't remember any spanish at all (she's also the less smart sibling), hence both the priests and the temple guards speak the monastery language only

and Vaas on the other hand was living his ordinary (as ordinary as life on rook can be) life as a rakyaat warrior with parents who spoke spanish and english so he's bilingual and when he became a pirate spanish became his primary language and hence he has more of a spanish accent and is able to communicate very complex thoughts in english (plus pirates actually have much more exposure to english media like movies and stuff (if they want to))

A human version of Bumblebee from Transformers and his car ( the same one as Nacho’s I chose on purposely to just get Nacho Varga vibes plus instead of red all the time it’s black and yellow all the time 👌also the blue sunglasses signify bumblebee’s eye color, the slightly bloodied bandage around his throat signify that he cannot talk, and yes he has a transformer autobots tattoo while he had a shirt that had black and yellow on it also I made this for a friend’s birthday for tomorrow but I gave it to them early because I was very excited with this! And yes human bumblebee does have a nose piercing and yes I chose Michael Mando because I noticed that Bumblebee is the shortest autobot and youngest so I chose Michael because he’s the shortest guy in the cast of Better Call Saul and slightly youngest. )

Has anyone else noticed that the only Salamanca men Nacho has NOT tried to kill are Marco and Leonel? That’s canon, is all I’m saying.
