Chris Noel, my love, you deserve so much better girly, please, I love you so much.
She actually causes me physical pain, her dynamics with the other characters (specifically Knox and Chet cause literally who else does she talk to, they cut out all the Ginny scenes so) are literally so heartbreaking, I can't
Chris deserves so much more than some fuckass possessive guy and some weirdo creep. She deserves so much more.
Chet is, again fuckass and possessive. Which is kinda valid as far as Knox is concerned cause Knox is literally trying to "steal" his girlfriend but also, I hate Chet. In the deleted scene with Ginny that's in the book, it is heavily implied that he wants to borrow his dad's car so he can have car sex with Chris, gross, I hate him. He really seems to only like Chris for sex. We only really see him yelling at Chris to come back to his room (I can only assume to make out) and while he's kissing Chris when Knox is stalking her (and of course at the party when he punches Knox) so we can't really get a good read on the character besides "he's a teenage boy motivated by hormones" which is, speaking from experience, not a good relationship to be in!!
This brings me to Knox. I'm going to start with, I love fandom Knox, he was meant to be a hopeless romantic who's helplessly pinning after the most gorgeous and deserving girl (my icon, Chris Noel), and the fandom delivers on that well. Cannon, however, missed so far, I fucking hate cannon Knox. He stalks her, he hits on her while she's in a relationship, he violates her privacy, he pursues her after she has shut him down politely several times, he sucks. And Chris falls for it cause at least he isn't just interested in sex! Except he kinda is because every reason he has to like her is not based on any personality because they've never had an actual conversation!!!!
Chris, my love, you deserve better, please. Leave these fuckass, mean, horrible men behind and find better, please.
And I know she only settles for these assholes because she's a popular, cheerleader, young girl in the 50s whose mother likely puts up with worse from her father and she thinks it's okay to be treated like that. She thinks that's love. Because that's the only kind of "love" she's ever seen or experienced.
Gosh, I hate when women are in movies set when women were treated badly because I spend the whole movie physco-analysing the women for why they put up with it and then I spend every rewatch begging the women to find better, to realize they deserve better, to realize better is out there.
Chris Noel, I love you so so much, please, there is better girl, find better

When Mr. Keating talks about dying and becoming food for worms, the camera focuses on Neil, and that, in addition to be so mean, is very important. 'Cause, in my opinion, when the camera focuses on him and shows how uncomfortable he is when it comes to death, it show us that he was afraid of dying. Think about it, he was a kid full of life, full of joy (when he was with his friends), and then, at the end of it all, he decided to take his own life, it just shows us how desperate he was, how scared he was, how tired he was. So to me makes so much sense that he was afraid of dying, but in the end of it all that's what was left of him.
Let's talk about Cameron (again) and Charlie.
I know some people hate Cameron, but if you hate Cameron and love Charlie, you just don't understand Cameron's complexity and ignore him just beacause of his dumb attitude.
But, if you hate Cameron beacause of what he did, then why don't you hate Charlie too because of his stupids actions?
I love Charlie's character, but I also like a lot Cameron's character. Charlie and Cameron, they both wanted validation from authority, but in different ways.
When Charlie got the "call from God", he wants to prove that he could do more, be more. When Mr. Keating went to reprimand his attitude, Charlie's reaction was to get upset and say that he thought Mr. Keating would like that.
Cameron on the other hand, wanted validation too, and saw opportunity in the worst possible scenario. Cameron didn't feel like he was part of the group, Charlie made a point of putting him down whenever possible. I dont want hate on Charlie, but just as Charlie doesn't deserve hate for doing stupid things, Cameron doesn't deserve it either.
