Film is a very different media through which to build a character and depict their arc as a conflict progresses. It’s important that you contextualize the writing, though it may feel lengthy as you’re working on a script, as a shorter form. Therefore, you’re provided far less time to deliver key information, and you do not the luxury of description to the same extent as you would in a novel or even a short story. Create characters with this in mind. Budget the valuable time they’ll have on screen focusing on information that is key to the viewer’s understanding of both the character themself and the overall plot. They do not need miles of backstory.

THE MOTHER OF ALL OMLETTES, JACK!
There is no technological solution to climate change.
This is not because it’s impossible for us to invent something that would theoretically solve the problem–it’s because even if we did come up with some wunderkind technology that we could implement overnight and would reduce carbon emissions to 10% of their current level, the capitalists’ response to this would be to increase their industrial activity tenfold.
No seriously, ask yourself what happened to the last sixteen or so technologies which were supposed to save the world; sure, some of them flopped, but some succeeded and were implemented–and had fuck-all net impact because whenever you save resources under capitalism those resources just get exploited doing something else.

🌱🌱it’s super easy to use, broken down vegetable by vegetable. Even in late winter and very early spring you can start many seeds indoors, or even outdoors, depending on where you live and what you’re planting. 🌱🌱

Here’s another one from my archives. It’s the town under a rock, Setenil de las Bodegas, Spain, where around 3,000 inhabitants are living quite literally, under a rock.
The small white washed town has a unique setting along a narrow river gorge eroded by the Rio Trejo river, with many of the houses being built into and under the walls of the gorge itself.
There was a practical reason for living here. The natural caves are ideal living quarters because they didn’t need to build whole houses to keep out the heat and cold- the cave did that. All they had to build were the façades.
The bars, restaurants and food shops are ranked as the best in the region.
In summer, the town is vibrant.
The town used to be used to be large store rooms for local produce, b/c of the cool environment in the rock.
It’s fascinating to think of them building this town.
Look at this little house.
Even though a lot of the town is under the rock, a lot of it still gets the sun. It’s like going in and out of tunnels.

two years ago, I sketched this on the eve of the new year to wish everyone to be close to those whom you call your family
I was just filled with all kinds of warmth and love, and since the snow is already blowing all over my window, I thought it was time for these old warm sketches
