To the #Blackout Community and Tumblr at large,ย
We know you must have a lot of questions or are feeling distressed about the news. The world has been dealing with a lot this year, and it is an especially harrowing time for Black Americans and Black folks abroad. We know your biggest question right now could be summed up by a quote fromย Toni Morrison:
Here at #TheBlackout, we have decided to help you start finding an answer to that question - we feel that we need each other. We need unity, organization, a clear sense of direction, but more importantly, a space where you can be yourself without judgement or fear.
So, in addition to boosting your art and businesses, our highest priority right now is to provide you all with resources to help you start from where you are.
This is a masterpost of places you can donate, find mental health + spaces for radical self-care, and just do something fun. We will be adding on as things change.ย

Orange cake recipe!๐
(Also works with lemons ๐)
Ingredients:
โ 6 eggs
โ 6 dl sugar
โ 250 g Butter
โ 1 dl milk
โ 11 dl flour
โ 4 teaspoons of baking soda
โ 4 teaspoons vanilla sugar
โ 2 dl pressed orange juice
โ Grated orange peel from 2 oranges
Icing:
โ 6 dl icing sugar
โ 4 tablespoons of pressed orange juice
Down to business! :
Whisk the eggs and sugar until the mixture gets white. Put the mixture in a big baking bowl.
Melt the butter. Mix the milk with the butter.
Strain all the dry ingredients together.
Add the dry ingredients to the eggs and sugar mixture alternately with the butter milk. Mix carefully the dough til its lump free, but make sure you don't mix it too much to keep the cake nice and fluffy after the flour has been added.
Put the dough in a large pan covered in bakingpaper (pan size approximately 30ร40cm)
Bake the cake at 200ยฐ in the middle of the oven. Bake it for around 25-30 minutes. Chill the cake in the pan.
(Unless you want the icing to melt in like I did // scroll down to see pic)
You can carefully move the cake from it's pan once its chilled and move it onto whatever plate or surface to put on the icing. Or you could keep it in the pan.
Apply the icing once the cake is chill and nice.
Leave the cake until the icing has stiffened and part it into whatever shapes you want!
(You can also freeze this cake without it being ruined! So you'll have cake for days)
