Hey Do You Mates Think That Barbosa And His Crew Were Like…kinda Normal When They Were First Cursed?

Hey do you mates think that Barbosa and his crew were like…kinda normal when they were first cursed? Like….they were human and can indulge in food and drink and company, but their bodies began to decay until the point that they are starving and thirsty?

Our tactful, guileful man, ladies and gents

tbh my favourite quality about Odysseus towards the end of the Odyssey is that he'll swear to be honest and immediately spit out two pages of nothing but lies about who he is and where he comes from and whose son he is and how he's suffered terribly to get where he is now

compare that to him giving polyphemus his full name, his postal address, his social security number, and his birth certificate in earlier chapters

that's what we call ✨personal growth✨

SO LISTENING TO CHARYBDIS

WHEN ODY CLEARS CHARYBDIS’ WHIRLPOOL AND HES TALKING ABOUT HOME

Ya know, I’m curious how Jorge will address Odysseus leaving Calypso’s island. In The Odyssey it’s super simple; Zeus and Hermes pull up to Ogiga (I can’t spell) and basically just proclaims “man’s gotta get home” and then Calypso is forced to help Odysseus construct a raft.

But this is Epic: The Musical. This is Mr. Jorge Riverra Herrans we are talking about. There are so many instances in which Jorge has cranked the dial up from 1-20, making simple instances in The Odyssey more dramatic than they used to be. One of these instances is God Games.

I predict one of two things that could occur for Odysseus’ escape from Calypso’s island.

1. Hermes helps Odysseus use his wits as well as some form of violence like in Suffering/Different beast where he finds out wether or not goddesses can die

2. Hermes helps Odysseus escape Calypso’s island solid snake style on some sort of very long stealth mission. Idk how he quietly made a raft, who knows.

Either way we will see what happens. See you mates on the 30th :)

So I might be SUPER late to the party, but as I was once again listening to the entirety of Epic, it has dawned on me that Zeus’ “he will burn your house and home…” in The Horse and the Infant has the SAME EXACT MELODY as Siren Penelope’s “he will chase you high and low so find a place he’d never go…” in Suffering.

Jorge is a musical genius and I am going absolutely bonkers. Have a wonderful day.

DON'T PANIC ABOUT THE MISSING LIVE!!

They were having internet issues when they tried gaming the other day, and according to my friend, Ithaca also had to deal with a typhoon!

The stream was most likely canceled for these reasons! Hopefully all is well. :)

(Reblog to spread the word maybe!)

Everytime I wish to put further emphasis on Odysseus, I make it my business to list every title and epithet Homer has given this man.

So I’ll be having a normal conversation and then I’ll drop “That tactful and guileful man, rugged, chestnut haired, broad shouldered, lying, gentle, royal Odysseus, son of Laertes, husband of Penelope, father of Telemachus, sacker of cities, sacker of Troy, King of Ithaka”.

I then realize I was so busy remembering every epithet that I no longer remember where the conversation was going.
