i think it’d be easier to understand double bookkeeping if people more often talked about the difference between knowing something and believing it.
- you can know your friends love you, but not believe it.
- you can know nobody is spying on you, but not believe it.
- you can know you don’t have to be perfect, but not believe it.
- you can know your thoughts won’t affect reality, but not believe it.
knowing that your belief is false doesn’t always mean you stop believing it.
