I am Mohammed Ayyad, a resident of Gaza. I live in very difficult circumstances because of the war that the Gaza Strip is experiencing. Since the outbreak of the war on October 7, we have been displaced. Then the journey of suffering and separation began, as my children were separated and evacuated from our home without cover or clothes, and from here they became ill. What increased our fatigue was the continuous upbringing due to the different areas to which we were displaced. We were displaced 9 times, and this was very costly. The last time was on August 9 from Hamad City. In addition to that, we live in the winter season in a tent that does not exceed three meters, closed with nylon. It is similar to the atmosphere of strong winds that we have never experienced before. The weather is very cold. Overall, we are living difficult days that no human being can bear. We have no work because of the war and we do not have any kind of money. This is accompanied by a crazy and terrible increase in prices. Although the water is not suitable for drinking, this is the cause of many diseases. The last suffering is that we are outside Hamad without taking our belongings or tents. Now we are searching the ground in the streets and our children and the elderly are suffering. Therefore, we use direct donations, including what they can, or sharing the links completely so that people know our tragedy and pain. Hey everyone, my name is Abdelmajed. I don’t usually talk much about myself, but today, I want to share a little piece of my story.

I was born and raised in Gaza, a place that has always been my home 🏡. I grew up surrounded by my family, my friends, and the streets that I knew like the back of my hand. Life wasn’t always easy, but we had love, laughter, and dreams. I used to think that no matter what happened, home would always be here. But life has a way of changing things in ways we never expect.

Over the past months, everything I once knew has disappeared. The streets that were once filled with children playing are now silent. The houses that held so many memories are now just rubble. And the people I loved—some of them are gone forever. 💔

given that it's both black history month and Transgender Hell Era i recommend people go read about frances thompson, the first black trans woman to testify before Congress. her bravery and defiance in the fact of targeted government oppression is so admirable, as is the love from her community. she transitioned while enslaved and lived her entire life as a woman, more or less openly trans. she was outed and jailed by police who had always been aware she was trans entirely because her testimony of being raped by anti-black rioters was inconvenient for Congress and they needed an excuse to ignore her. and yet she never wavered in her conviction of her womanhood. when a reporter questioned her on why she wore dresses, she told him "none of your damn business." she died young but she was cared for by her community to the end. it's both an interesting look at how people historically engaged with trans people (even the West has a more complicated relationship with gender & sex than transphobes want to admit) and like. idk. her going through everything she went through and still being like fuck you. i know exactly what you are doing and it's bullshit. i am what i've always been and you are cowards relying on hatred to maintain power. and no matter what i'm not legitimizing your bullshit. i love you frances thompson
