In the wake of retiring Regenerate (my historically favorite mechanic, near to banding and retrace), adding protective activations and including the tap clause is such a healthy design decision. Instead of straight blanking card removal, it turns it into a Twiddle/ single tap down event, letting you prevent an attack or prevent it from blocking.
Such solid design IMO. I love this addendum to indestructible or any other protective activations, like this Hexproof one.

It's worth noting that there are some extraordinary people in the world who have been quietly doing the work for decades, and they should be celebrated with all the fervor that we denounce the villains. I first read about Harrison twenty-odd years ago, when he'd already been doing this for about fifty years, and this is one of those guys whose life can, indeed, be summed up by his headline.
James Harrison saved millions of lives. Millions. Not with anything flashy or dramatic, not with profound speeches or brilliant strategy or any of the things we insist are the ways to impact the world. He simply kept himself as healthy as possible so that every few weeks he could go and sit quietly in a room and give away a fundamental part of himself — quite literally his lifeblood — to people he'd never meet, for no pay and no expectation of acknowledgement. (He was, it should be said, acknowledged quite a lot per this article, but that's beside the point.)
When we talk about the kind of people we want to elevate and celebrate in our societies, I often think of people like James Harrison. I hope we get more of him; not just for his blood, but for his heart.
Do not engage with news media after 8pm. Nothing you learn then will help you before the next morning. You’ll just go to bed anxious and mad
You’re gonna see the worst possible people nominated to head diff parts of the govt. Understand that’s the point, to set everything in favor of corps, internalize that feeling and remember it for the next election, and move on. Dwelling on it only serves to hurt yourself
Learn to sit in uncertainty. Last term the orange man would tweet policy and expect it to manifest. This led to people never knowing if he was talking big game or passing legislation, so people did not know how the government was going to act. Chill. We don’t know what will happen.
Curate your social media experience, do not follow algorithms. Algorithms need you hooked and its easier to keep you hooked if you’re miserable. Be purposeful when you engage with political content, don’t do it on a whim
You are not responsible for the ailings of the world. Don’t put that on yourself. And don’t put it on yourself to keep up with every single wrongdoing about to happen. There will be far too many for one person to keep up with, you’ll exhaust yourself and make yourself miserable
The cruelty of racist white men.

Another old favorite. 3/4 for three, keeping my trend of always like at- value heft even with a drawback. These "gating" creatures were a fun cycle, but still largely overcosted (IMO even 2001), save for this and the even better Horned Kavu.
Pre-flash Flash made the gating a potential straight upside that could save a creature. So much fun!

Maro, as a straight white old guy who’s been playing since The Dark, I wanted to thank you and everyone else making Magic for the diversity and inclusion on the cards. Characters like Ral, Nissa, Nico, Daretti, and others mean a great deal to other players (and for me they are just great characters), please continue to show everyone how much variety the multiverse has room for.
We have no plans to change that. Some of us still recognize that diversity, equality, and inclusion are good and valuable things.

I’ve seen the shortened version of Cab Calloway’s St James Infirmary Blues from the Betty Boop Snow White 1933 cartoon on Tumblr a few times, thought you’d all like the full version.
Tesla is tanking so hard it is dragging the entire EV segment's sales down into the negative. When you omit Tesla from the equation, EV sales are up 13% across the board.
Don't let anyone tell you EV sales are in a slump.
