Sometimes you almost cry because your partner spends time reading up on judaism and jewish holidays for you. It just means so much because he's put in dedication and time into trying to learn stuff with me. I am gonna struggle to be kosher for passover this year (being kosher is already difficult enough) but we're gonna be at their house this weekend and he's gonna make something with me. And I'm just so excited.
Thinking about her (a show that was cancelled unjustly) again
You guys ever see a DNI that makes you break out into laughter and almost cry
Attention artists drawing Chanukah art! (Because I've seen wayyy too many incorrect depictions)
-The Shamash (the ninth candle, usually in the center or off to the side of a Chanukiyah (Chanukah menorah)) is used to light the other candles. It is lit first, and is the helper candle. It's not part of the lineup.
-The flames are lit from left to right, starting with the candle/oil well representing the current night. For example:
If this is the first night: _ _ _ _ _ _ _π―οΈ
And this is the third night: _ _ _ _ _ π―οΈπ―οΈπ―οΈ
You would start by lighting the candle to the leftmost on the third night, and then move gradually to the right.
-The flames are supposed to be kept burning until they burn out. You don't reuse candles from the night before under ideal conditions (ideal being able to afford candles, etc).
-You can't use the candles on the Chanukiyah lineup to light other candles. That's what the Shamash candle is for. You're not supposed to use the Chanukiyah flames for anything.
I am unfortunately just like other guys. I like trashy horror, dog poems, cannibalism as a metaphor for obsessive devotion, religious imagery, people who use my name in a sentence, academic validation, lying for fun, being bisexual and bleeding out in the snow.
