...Leroy Berry IS Black. Brian Stokes Mitchell Has A Lighter Skin Tone Than The Crew Member Who Posed

...Leroy Berry IS black. Brian Stokes Mitchell has a lighter skin tone than the crew member who posed for the picture from the pilot episode, but he's definitely not white.

I am tumblring and seeing all these videos about Rachel's dads. I thought one of them was meant to be black? Remember? We saw their picture in the pilot episode.

Make a fist and put it in the center of the picture. It looks like the dots are moving ten times faster.

I felt like Superman for 10 seconds.

how i design trolls

yesterday there was a bit of talk about body type variation in how people draw the trolls on my dash! it made me think of how i approach drawing the trolls, and boy do i think about that a lot, haha.

it’s taken me a while to come up with my solid “headcanon” for the trolls shapes/faces, but now that i kind of have it down, i have trouble drawing them any other way.

my “shtick” for drawing trolls is that i base their entire design around their symbol/shape of the horns/zodiac/personality. in animation there are several visual stereotypes for different types of characters, and i basically just utilized these to create a cast of stylized characters that have variety but look like they could all belong to the same universe (and actually the 12 trolls are all related in some way so there are some shared traits between them.)

ANYWAYS, i am going to share with you my design rationale for each of the trolls. i wouldnt say so much this is “body type headcanon” and more like “character design pitches” haha. i haven’t tried to make every character like something wildly disparate from how fandom at large draws them— for a reason! certain stereotypes exist for a reason, because they are easily recognizable and relatable to the audience.

AND NOW, onto my explanations! (with crappy sketches)

Probably for the best. At least I won’t be disappointed.

But somebody please cheer me up? Convince me that I’m wrong. Please?

=/ But didn't you read that article? I could understand being concerned or whatever about producers or the network or someone changing the episode if the writer had brought ANY new information to the table, but it is seriously just a hodge-podge of spoilers and interviews that we've already seen and heard. She has not seen the episode, she has no inside scoop, and she is seriously just posting her own speculation on a website that would just as easily accept an article written by you or me.

Ausiello is a credible source because he actually has a relationship with Glee PR that allows him to get the inside scoop. If the episode was being changed, they would not throw him under the bus by keeping him out of the loop. They would let him know so he could retract his statement (as he has done in the past,) and retain his credibility.

Extremely pessimistic about episode 5 now

Oh ha, I guess I should have clarified that the pseudo-science I'm talking about specifically is the in-book explanation that ~solar radiation~ powerful enough to wipe out most white people somehow left PoCs mostly intact. I mean, the narrative itself mentions off-handedly that 'coals' can get skin cancer on occasion, but aside from being just illogical and stupid, the idea that a PoCs melanin protects them from radiation powerful enough to kill most of the poor delicate white people just seems so damn skeevy and racist in a really antiquated way.

So I just wanted to put it out there that aside from being incorrect pseudo-science, the whole concept of Black people’s melanin protecting them from skin cancer reeks of social darwinism. :/

So I'm really disliking all the supposition I'm seeing that since Caliborn basically said that mean=nice in cherub culture, this means Calliope must be super sinister and evil. Like I'm pretty sure that being sweet and affectionate toward all her friends wasn't meant as some weird twisted cherub 'fuck you' to them or anything. Calliope immersed herself in the cultures of other species, so I'm pretty sure she has a firm understanding of the concept of being pleasant and polite towards people she cares about.

That said, wow those empty eye sockets were not something I was expecting. It's kinda interesting though, because her death as a cherub is sort of a weird special case to begin with, and like, there's still a living body somewhere out there that her soul used to inhabit. idk, I don't have any actual theories about this, but it makes me think about LE's billiard eyes and whether that affected Calliope in any way or something, I don't know where I'm going with this.

REBLOG: to raise awareness about the suicide rates of Native youth, which is 10 times the national average. That means for every 1 teen outside of Indian Country that takes their own life, 10 native teens take their lives.

psh, who said dean and seamus aren’t canon.

WTF this is too cute. Never really gave much thought to Seamus and Dean, but if I didn't ship it before, I sure do now!
