book!Polin:
Polin argue in the Bridgerton drawing room -> Colin starts thirsting for Pen
Polin argue in Penelope's living room --> Colin wants to kiss Pen
Polin fight in the carriage -> make out session
Polin fight at the engagement party -> have sex
show!Polin: Colin gets angry at Penelope and just abandons her, ignores her, avoids her, won't even touch her nor look at her.
WHY WOULD THE SHOW WRITERS DO THIS TO POLIN?
"i'm pretty when i cry"
i'm obsessed with them.
excuse me, the way he effortlessly hoists her into his arms???
Ahsoka looked kind of offended, like "That's all I am to you? Bounty?"
although i do like that they argue and then it is immediately followed by a steamy make out session (very book Polin), there are two huge flaws with this scene that COMPLETELY ruin it -
Colin walks away from Pen, "not wanting to hear it," leaving her all alone in the middle of the street at night for the second time.
Pen, again, has to call out to him and get him to stop to talk to her. The fact that she has to initiate AGAIN is not okay because remember, this is unrequited-to-requited story line. We're in the requited section - so the ball is now in Colin's court, he needs to be doing more initiating for any of this to have any meaning. If Pen continues to pursue him, even when he is angry with her, THEN WTF ARE WE DOING HERE? And therefore, it ruins the interaction after that because it's Pen in the driver's seat yet again and that's not fair to Pen. She deserves to have him pursue her for once. FFS!!!
Second flaw - he doesn't go back home with her in the carriage - why? what are we even DOING here???
Colin Morgan as John Webster in The Killing Kind
Colin looking gorgeous as always
This is where the fun begins.
