"It's time to face reality, Doctor. You're a man who dreams of being a hero, because you know deep down that you're not."
Pretty crazy thing to say to the man who saved your life with the sheer power of his love, devotion and forgiveness but okay-
I remember saying to a friend somewhere around mid season 2 that like I'm used to enjoying star trek because yanno it's star trek, I'm not used to it also being exceptional television.
I didn't know DS9 was so good. Why did no one tell me? Why did I wait all these years to start watching it?
Obsessed with his fruity little poses
Garak was late to lunch that day because he was building a bomb to destroy his shop. He was eating Delavian chocolates while he made it. He saw an assassin and knew for whom the bell tolled, but he still ate his chocolates, and he still went to lunch, just a little late. Because he was making a bomb to blow himself up with.
More trekposting— assorted ds9 brainrot and etc
A couple of these will be prints!!!
jake sisko jumpsuit haters are weak and will not survive the winter. who else on the station is combining patterns and colors like that? who has the effortlessness, the ease? aura off the charts BECAUSE of the insane outfits, not in spite of them.
People are way too mean to Jake Sisko about his outfits :(( his fuckass outfits are one of the best parts of the whole show. Seeing non starfleet federation citizens. Seeing futuristic fashion. Having fun with colours and patterns. Seeing his fashion sense change from a child to an adult. He has more fashion sense than any of the muted militarised "something you could find in abercrombie and fitch" ass outfits of modern trek shows. Where is your zest for life, where is your idealism? Only Quark has more drip.
one of the things I think about a lot with dukat is the way he pronounces the word "bajoran"
pretty much every other character on the show (including the overwhelming majority of actual bajorans) pronounce it with a hard j sound. but marc alaimo nearly every time says it with a much softer consonant, closer to bazhoran or even bashoren.
it's such immaculate flavor that dukat of all people doesn't just mispronounce the name of the people and planet he's subjugating out of like laziness to use vowels/consonants that are closer to his dialect, but that he instead opts for a pronunciation that makes it feel like he's overcompensating. using the zh consonant over the j consonant is honestly less congruous with common patterns in american english of voiced vs unvoiced consonants. he makes the word 'bajoran' feel more exotic and foreign, not less. it gives dukat the flavor of someone who tries sooo hard to pronounce something ~authentically~ that they end up completely missing the mark and sounding totally detached from reality. but of course in his case it's purposeful.
this is why dukat goes so hard as a villain, because yes his text is hyper un-subtle about how much he's the living embodiment of colonialism and racism, but marc alaimo is regularly serving us these acting choices that just take it to the next level. that man and his neck really found his calling huh.
im never gonna be over it, i love them so so much, one of my first ever ships and getting to see that and hear them and know that they really do love each other, and in every universe, truly it means everything to me
why the fuck would I use AI to make background graphics for my fandom projects, when I can instead spend multiple hours using five different editing programs to make a single gif ! duh !!
