So about Fyodor's ability we've only ever seen him use it on people and the only info we have on it is that it can like blow their brains up (since that's all we've seen it do iirc) and that it's named Crime and Punshiment.

As we all know Fyodor has a weird type of a god complex i guess you could say?? Basically he has decided he has the power to pick who should and shouldn't existed and picked ability users as the ones that shouldn't. Except himself. (from what i can understand)

He believes he has the right to pass judgment on such a thing as someone's very existence and punishes people based on whether he perceives them to have a committed a crime or not.

You getting what i mean??

From its name and what we've seen of it so far i think Fyodor's ability works in a way similar to court except he's judge, jury and executioner.

He is the judge of whether someone's life has been a sin or not, in this case ability users, and then executes them accordingly.

So in short how i perceive Fyodor's ability is that it only works on people Fyodor sees as criminals according to his own morals and ideals. Thus he can use it on any ability user and on only those non ability users who he sees as wrong and "evil" to put it in a very very very simplified way.

It's definitely more complicated than whether he sees the person as "evil" or not but yeah basically this is what I think it is.

Which also ties into my theory that Fyodor CAN'T use his ability to break out of the water tank area thing because the walls themselves are not something Fyodor does or CAN ever perceive as criminals and thus cannot blow them up. Even if he blames Dazai or hell even the guards for losing so easily he would only be able to attack them and not the gates.

Therefore, Fyodor is gonna die.

Campaign to make The God of Arepo an award winning work and win a literal brick as a trophy for the authors and for Tumblr community as a whole (SUCCEEDED!!!! Update below)

Doodle of our farmer Arepo holding up a brick and flower next to the cover of The God of Arepo.

As the artist for one of The God of Arepo comics, my version is up for consideration for the Ignatz Awards for Outstanding Online Comic.

OUTSTANDING ONLINE COMIC

Growing Up and Getting Out, Lonnie Comics [published on Webtoon, Tapas, Patreon]
The God of Arepo, Reimena Yee [originally published on Tumblr]
whale fall, Mara Ramirez [published on smoke and mold, issue 8]
Adversary, Blue Delliquanti [digitally published as part of ShortBox Comics Fair 2022]
Trans Classic Movies, Jett Allen [ongoing series on INTO]

For those of you who don't know the Ignatz is one of the highest industry awards that "recognize outstanding achievements in comics and cartooning by small press creators or creator-owned projects published by larger publishers".

The thing is, winning the award means winning an actual literal brick. Because the mascot is a brick-throwing mouse. So they have to make a bit where the trophy is a brick. Like. Look.

Just a bunch of red bricks on a wooden stand.

For a long time I thought it was just plain bricks they were handing out, but my friend who won a couple of bricks two years ago had theirs stamped (I saw the bricks in person at their house). So now I am obsessed with the idea of The God of Arepo winning an Ignatz trophy. It will have the honours stamped. On a freaking brick. That's the most Tumblr level meme trophy this comic/story could win (which is also a legit high honour industry award on its own btw don't get me wrong). But wilder than that, the brick allows me to do something. It allows me to smash that break into 5 pieces and ship one of each to the authors plus myself. Writing Prompts, sadoeuphemist, ciiriianan, stu-pot and me will get a piece of clay in recognition for our work with the farmer who built a temple out of stone. The full circle moment.

Illustrated example using stock images of a hammer smashing a brick. The brick is sectioned into 5 pieces with red lines.

Imagine the value of this win to the lore of this Tumblr sacred text/folklore. This brick will be smashed and given to the creators, but as a collective folklore, it's also dedicated to all of us on this hellsite too. AWARD WINNING. If The God of Arepo wins I will document the entire process of smashing that brick here.

But we have to make this happen. We need to gather our collective energy and make this campaign work. Please help make The God of Arepo an award-winning story and vote for it in the Outstanding Online Comic category (link). You will need to request a ballot, then submit your vote. I recommend checking out the other nominated comics too. The Ignatz really shortlists good stuff. The voting closes September 8 2023 . LET'S GET THE GOD OF AREPO A BRICK FOR HIS TEMPLE!! LET'S GO!!!! REBLOGS HELP TOO!!

“Kunikida’s a bootlicker. He’s nothing but a boring goody too shoes.”

Kunikida stole a car. Kunikida broke into a meteorological bureau because they got the weather report wrong. Kunikida has been arrested 3 times.

Kunikida gave Junichiro, Atsushi and Kyouka weapons. Kunikida electrocuted Akutagawa and gained his respect. Kunikida’s best friend, Katai is a hacker.

Kunikida hates authority.

Kunikida threatened to break Atsushi’s arm when they met.

The fear people have that Kunikida could’ve become the Azure Messenger if he went too far. Not to mention the Azure Apostle, Nobuko Sasaki was the real life Kunikida’s first wife.

Kunikida set off a bomb and used Tecchou as a shield. Kunikida told Kenji to throw the Black Lizard out the window. Every time someone says Kunikida would be a good solider he immediately proves them wrong.

Goody too shoes my arse.

“i. when my blood spilled down the temple steps, were you glad? when my wedding robes dripped scarlet, did you regret it, or did you smile, as the beat of my heart soared and sputtered and then stopped? as i bled out on your altar stone? was it worth it? ii. when your poets told my mother i died willingly, did you force yourself into believing it? old man, when they said a deer was sent to take my place, did you remember the way i bled out in front of you, or did you imagine a doe’s eyes and hooves made for running? did you imagine anything at all? iii. when you won your war, did you think of me then? when the streets filled with crimson, heavy as monsoon rain, did you think of my sacrifice, my life, laid down at your feet? did your men hold a vigil? do you even remember? iv. father, i do. father, i remember everything. father, i remember the way my eyes felt heavier with each wine-red drop. i remember the way your armies cheered as i lay dying, as the wind lifted the sails of your ships, and i was forgotten. father, i did not die willingly. father, the dead do not forget. father, i am waiting.”
