AMAZON IS STRIKING LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!! LETS GO!@!
as someone who has worked in amazon warehouses for many years, this is crazy like. oh my god. DURING PEAK SEASON?? LETS GOOOO
media and companies are already trying to say "DONT LET THE UNIONS MISLEAD YOU WE PROMISE WE TREAT OUR WORKERS WELL!!!" well hey ive worked there for YEARS. they do not ! dont listen to their bullshit. it might be difficult to not get frustrated if packages are late at the most important time of the year but thats the whole point -- strikes happening when the workers are most necessary is a massive blow to showing just how essential the workers are . anyways stand with amazon workers this holiday season god fucking bless
actually crazy that the media is covering the protest at trump tower today for freeing mahmoud but the headlines dont mention that the protesters are jewish which is like. the whole point. standing up to say "not in our name" as the media continues to paint everything pro palestine as antisemetic. lmfao even . only ap news and pbs headline mentions it as expected
from one chronically anxious person to another: the world is not going to go up in flames. What happens will be more slow, more bureaucratic, more boring. There is no catastrophe to end all catastrophes, no rapture, no sudden end. You can't give into the call of the void, because there is no void. So you just have to do the work to make tomorrow a better place, anyway. Because that's how it gets better.
oh hey rember that post a while ago about how when stores ask for your donation, they arent actually donating the money you give because theyve already made the donation and are just looking to get reimbursed through customers? looks like theyre finally getting in hot water for that deceptive practice
there is so much discourse that boils down to "if someone doesn't want you to call them something, don't call them that" and it makes me feel insane that nobody can wrap their heads around this kindergarten-level shit
Schools, houses of worship, hospitals, and other "sensitive locations" are no longer federally protected from ICE raids and arrests. Many school districts and religious organizations are creating plans to protect immigrants and find ways to keep ICE out (namely through officially making their buildings private and therefore requiring warrants to enter), and I strongly recommend looking into local efforts and supporting them when possible, but a lot of the information about ICE that was true a week ago no longer is. Be aware, be prepared, and know your rights.
