Growing up a young child, whenever the Bible said anything about anointing people with oil, I thought people just dumped canola oil on someone and started chanting about Jesus.

Take some strange square people. They're probably going to made in a ginormous top-secret project thing I'm planning to do with other people a one-off occurrence that will totally never be mentioned ever again!

(also the comic I'm working on is kind of a test run - not meant to be good. I haven't done anything like this before. I'm trying to get a sense of how to not crash and burn) (also gaging people's reactions).
