American Spirit is a concept project derived from a deep appreciation for Americana, referencing the past in contrast to the present and what has managed to stand the test of time in our culture. I first came up with the concept during Fall of 2023, as I wanted to express my love for american clothing staples and nostalgia. From December 2023 to February 2024, I created a pair of Flared Denim Jeans and a Short Sleeve Sweatshirt from scratch, the inspiration behind the pairing being a Vintage American Flag. When the time came to present my art, Fares was the only person I had in mind that I could trust with my vision. With similar sensibilities in approach, it only made sense to share this project.
