Dewdrop was bored out of his mind, he had already looked at everything around him in that dang hospital bed while he waited for Perpetua to pick him back up. He had even come up with names for the shades of the colours on the walls and random abstract paintings around him. He had stared at the chart with bones on the wall for long enough, that if they gave him an exam on them, he was confident he would land an excellent on it.

Then, a nurse knocked on the door, “you seem to have a visitor… he has… hors, though?”. “Let them in.” Said Dewdrop, knowing it must be one of the ghouls, too worried to realise that they hadn’t glamoured their horns on their way here.

When the nurse said that, she looked back at the person next to her, who was staring at her expectantly, “you said you’re his… partner?”. “Yes,” said Phantom, “I am.”. The nurse sighed, clearly tired from her shift and done with seeing odd shit. She just signalled to the door and walked away.

Phantom immediately walked in and dragged a chair to sit next to Dew. “How are you? What happened?”. Seeing the worry in the other ghoul’s eyes, softened Dew’s expression a bit, “I fractured my foot, bat, it’s nothing I won’t get through don’t worry.” Now more than ever, Phantom wished that his quintessence wasn’t only the vision sight type, and was the healing one.

Dew ran his fingers through the quint’s hair, knowing fully what was going through their head. “Don’t blame yourself for not being able to heal my leg, bat, it’s okay.” Phantom nodded and leaned into Dew’s touch, “Aether called, turns out Perpetua tried to call Copia about what happened, but he didn’t want to pick up the call, so Aeth did. He wants to know if you’re okay.”

Dew nodded and reached for his phone, we went into his contact list and clicked on Aether’s contact, then videocalled him, once he picked up, Dew could hear a faint “Sapevo che non potevo fidarmi di lui” in the background, knowing it was Copia grumbling about something, he decided to just focus on Aether for now, “Hi Aeth.” He greeted, earning a similar response, “Perp- your new boss called, how is your foot doing?”

“Well, it’s doing better… At least now I know what’s up with it. I have to wear this big ass boot though.” Dew was in pain, but tried to mask it, thankful that it was currently nighttime in the ministry and Aether wasn’t paying as much attention as he normally would. Aether sighed when he heard that, but then Copia came into view, “how are you doing, amore?” He asked. “I’m fine, C, don’t worry.” Dew tried to reassure.

After a few minutes of being on call, Dew turned to look at Phantom after hanging up. The younger ghoul asked, “Now, without lying, how are you feeling. I can tell you’re in pain, Dew.”

Dew sighed, he knew he couldn’t lie to Phantom, so he settled for grabbing his hand, “Well, I’m better now that you’re here.”

fyi things like insulin, hearing aids, wheelchairs, glasses costing money at all is a form of structural ableism

Aurora gets back from the tour, and just as they agreed, Aurora tells Sunshine everything that happened.

The ghouls had finally gotten back, most of them were exhausted from the endless months on the road, but Aurora was excited to get back, knowing that, just like she and Sunshine had agreed on, she would tell her all about what had happened during the tour, and Sunshine would tell her everything that had happened in the Ministry while they were away.

After getting everything unloaded from the tour bus and her bags in her room, Aurora headed to Sunshine’s room, and knocked.

Sunshine got excited when hearing that noise, she knew what it meant, and she couldn’t wait to hear all the drama. She had gotten some candy and chips ready in separate bowls on the bed and knew that Aurora had brought nail polish to be busy while they talked.

Sunshine opened the door and hugged the ghoulette behind it, “Rory! You have to tell me everything that went down!”.

Aurora walked into the room and settled onto the bed, already grabbing one of the ham-flavoured chips from its bowl, her favourite kind. She ate it and laid out the different nail polishes she had brought with her. “So, sit down, Sunny, because I wrote down everything that happened.”

Sunshine sat with her and gave her a pumpkin orange nail polish for her to apply on her nails. “Well, there wasn’t as much drama around here, so I guess I’ll start, save best for last, you know?”

Aurora smiled and started prepping Sunshine’s nails while she listened to what she was telling her. “So, Aether finally found Copia’s secret comic collection. We didn’t know he liked those, the poor man was so embarrassed.” That earned a giggle from Aurora, who had to stop what she was doing to not ruin Sunshine’s nails, then she replied, “I bet, Aether mustn’t have known if he should laugh or comfort him.” “He chose the second one,” said Sunshine.

And, like that, they spent the rest of the night.

everyone can reblog this, but i figure this is especially good for those of us who use the (soft) blocking feature if we decide to unfollow someone instead of just unfollowing. this way, we can be alerted if tumblr has unfollowed a friend of ours without us noticing, as well as the other mutual not having to have anxiety about you suddenly hating them or worrying that you'll get upset for them asking if it was a mistake or not.

this, of course, does not mean that you are okay with people pushing to continue conversations with you if you say you unfollowed them. let's all be adults here.
