The sun was setting, casting a warm glow over the Hope’s Peak Academy courtyard. Y/N was sitting on a bench, humming a cheerful tune to herself, when she spotted Byakuya Togami walking by, his face set in its usual stern expression.

“Hey, Togami!” she called out, waving enthusiastically.

He paused, his eyes narrowing slightly as he turned to face her. “What do you want?”

Y/N patted the space next to her on the bench. “Come sit with me for a bit. It’s a beautiful evening, and I thought some company would be nice.”

Byakuya hesitated, clearly considering whether to indulge her request or continue on his way. After a moment, he sighed and walked over, sitting down with a huff.

“I don’t see the point in this,” he muttered, glancing at her out of the corner of his eye.

Y/N smiled brightly. “Sometimes, it’s nice to just enjoy the moment, you know? Not everything has to have a purpose.”

Byakuya scoffed. “That’s a naive way of thinking.”

“Maybe,” Y/N agreed, still smiling. “But it makes life a lot more pleasant. Don’t you think?”

They sat in silence for a while, the sounds of the academy around them creating a peaceful backdrop. Y/N could see the tension in Byakuya’s shoulders slowly easing, though his expression remained as stoic as ever.

“You know,” she said softly, “I think there’s more to you than you let on. You act all cold and distant, but I believe there’s a kind heart in there somewhere.”

Byakuya’s eyes widened slightly, and he turned to look at her, genuinely surprised. “What makes you think that?”

Y/N shrugged, her smile never wavering. “Just a feeling. And I’m pretty good at reading people.”

He stared at her for a moment, then looked away, a faint blush coloring his cheeks. “You’re insufferably optimistic, you know that?”

Y/N laughed, the sound light and musical. “I’ll take that as a compliment.”

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the courtyard, Byakuya found himself relaxing in Y/N’s presence. Her warmth and sincerity were a stark contrast to his usual interactions, and though he would never admit it, he found it strangely comforting.

“Thank you,” he said quietly, almost as if speaking to himself. Y/N glanced at him, her eyes sparkling with genuine happiness. “Anytime, Togami. I’m here for you.”

Byakuya shifted uncomfortably, not used to such open displays of kindness. “Why do you even bother with me? I’m not exactly the most approachable person.”

Y/N tilted her head, considering his question. “Because I see something in you, Togami. I see someone who’s been hurt, someone who’s built walls to protect themselves. But I also see someone who’s capable of great things, someone who deserves to be happy.”

He scoffed again, but there was less bite to it this time. “You’re delusional.”

“Maybe,” Y/N said with a playful grin. “Or maybe I just have a knack for seeing the best in people.”

Byakuya was silent for a long moment, his gaze fixed on the ground. “I don’t need your pity.”

“It’s not pity,” Y/N said gently. “It’s just... care. Everyone deserves to have someone who cares about them.”

He looked up at her, his expression unreadable. “And you think you’re that someone for me?”

She nodded without hesitation. “I’d like to be.”

Byakuya didn’t respond immediately, his mind racing with a thousand thoughts. Finally, he let out a slow breath. “You’re persistent, I’ll give you that.”

Y/N chuckled. “I’ve been called worse.”

They sat in comfortable silence once more, the stars beginning to twinkle in the darkening sky. As the night grew deeper, Byakuya found himself opening up, bit by bit, sharing small pieces of his past with Y/N. She listened intently, never judging, always offering a kind word or a gentle smile.

For the first time in a long while, Byakuya felt a glimmer of hope. Maybe, just maybe, he could let someone in. And maybe that someone was sitting right beside him, her heart as open and warm as the setting sun.

“Thank you, Y/N,” he said again, this time with more conviction.

She reached out, placing her hand over his. “Anytime, Togami. I’m here for you. Always.”

In that moment, Byakuya realized that maybe, just maybe, there was something to be said for having a little sunshine in his life.

• He doesn’t insult your talent unlike the others but that doesn’t mean he’s not insulting you. He thinks he’s more deserving of the title of “noble” (I mean he basically runs/owns the world so-) contrary to others belief that he was just born with a silver spoon in his mouth he had to fight for his name his whole life let alone how important his job is to the world. No, you were born in a family of royals that taught you exactly what to do without sweating a drop you only have that title because your a teenage princess and Hopes Peak wants high status students to enrol. You’re not on my level unlike what people think, I’ll rip down the curtain of lies you hold towards your subjects, this is going to be interesting.

•The other students adore you, you have the presence of a Disney princess how graceful and sweet you were to everyone including Byakuya. Although you have respect for yourself and know how to handle issues you haven’t snapped at him unlike Asahina, instead you practice gentle parenting with him though it never works the way you want it to he doesn’t bother you as much as when you two first met not wanting to be treated like a child. He has authority over society itself and YOU show up and have the audacity to treat him as if he’s going in time out? Not a chance with him no matter what your ultimate is

•You also make everything so boring for him. Anytime confrontation is at rise you come in and smooth it all out, he especially hates this in trials. The most interesting game he’s played in a while and you take all the tension and rivalry out of it by your ability to control them like sheep, it’s pathetic how they eat out of the palm of your hand with such blindness although he does have his ways of stirring the pot

•He tries to avoid you whenever he can cause you always make the effort to sink your hooks in him to gain his submission (at least that’s how he sees it) Mondo would make a threat at him and there you are in front of the boy with sternness “There is no need for such language, those insults get us nowhere we need to stick together and that means we need to get along at least tolerate each other. You two are intelligent enough to try hm?” You say with a kind and genuine smile melting Mondos heart with your speak. “Yea that works…” he says looking away from you with a blush on his face “Your words mean nothing here, this isn’t some team effort exercise, it’s kill or be killed with only one victor and by observation of all of you the answer is too easy.”

• You’re just too… bland. Your positive and loving your fair to everyone yet stand your ground and hold your authority and your intellect in the trials does surprise him. You’re too cheesy for him your sweetness rots his brain from all of your idiotic parenting.

•Yet you never give up on him. Your too cheesy always ask if he wants to sit at the table with the rest of them no matter what he says you’ll ask again tomorrow. You complement his intellect in the trials and in how he runs his corporation even asking for tips on financial business with other countries but to no avail. You even ask if he wants tea when you brew a pot in the kitchen, all of it gives him a headache and you don’t gain anything out of your little mission it even makes things harder on you with how Toko and Genocide threaten and belittle you with how protective they are with Byakuya but you never give up, maybe you are that pure of a person

•You always resemble a little girls doll, dressed in ribbons and lace your tiara sparkling like glitter in the light. No wonder everyone loves you, like a little girl staring through the glass of a toy shop in aw of its design, well your facade won’t work on him he doesn’t see your beauty the way the rest of them do he just sees you as what you are, just a pretty doll nothing more nothing less yet even he peaks his head up when you enter the room it fills him with disgust of how even he can’t help but to stare at how elegant that dress is and how your hair flows like silk

•Well let’s just say he doesn’t like you but he does get mesmerized by you from time to time it’s just the way you are, though it will take a while there is a soft spot that you can work with to make him at least tolerate you just keep doing what your doing and let him come to you when he’s ready :)
