hey I'm pretty new to gaylor stuff and am just wondering, why are the daisy socks important? Just wannna know how crazy I should be going over this lol
Hi and welcome to the gaylorverse!! đ€ The daisies are one of the most obvious pieces of gaylor/kaylor evidence and they were the nail in the coffin for me when I first fell down the rabbit hole đŒ
It all started when Karlie and Taylor took a trip to Big Sur, California in early March 2014. They took a bunch of pics of their trip and this daisy makes a cameo in many of them (you can search âbig surâ on my blog to read more abt it). The most important of these pics is the one where Karlie tags Taylor as the daisy on the dashboard and captions it w âbest road trip ever.â This is referenced in Donât Blame MeââI once was poison ivy but now Iâm your daisy.â Also âtrip of my lifeâ is a double entendre here bc sheâs not only talking abt tripping on drugs but also abt this road trip. To add more evidence to this theory the original handwritten lyrics include a drawing of a daisy that looks exactly like the one on the dashboard w the same positioning and all.
Plus Karlie was a literal VS angel hence all the angel/heaven imagery in Donât Blame Me and many other songsââHalo hiding my obsession / I would fall from grace just to touch your face / Lord save meâ // âDevils roll the dice, angels roll their eyesâ // âI know heavenâs a thing, I go there when you touch me,â etc. And when she was making the song (1:00 of this vid) she said she wanted it to sound religious.
She mentioned in this vid that she has repeatedly used clothing and jewelry as easter eggs over the yrs which is why the daisy socks are a big deal. Sheâs extremely intentional w everything she does (sheâs a mastermind after all) so itâs unlikely this is all a coincidence. She still uses daisies in her art and wears lots of clothes w daisies to this day which is one of many indicators that they probs havenât broken up. Hereâs a great post showing many of these instances. Here are some other times sheâs worn daisies: (x)(x)(x)(x). There are countless other times daisies have shown up but I donât have time to cover them all.
Fletcher and Kelsea Ballerini, who are Taylorâs friends and were invited to her after party not long ago, also took a trip to Big Sur in 2022 where they took a pic identical to the 2015 Vogue photoshoot pic and Polaroid shown above. This photoshoot was a recreation of their 2014 Big Sur trip. See here and here. This issue was released on Galentines Day, the same day Style was released as a single.
Also, Girl in Red recently mentioned at the eras tour that Serotonin, which has the lyrics âput me in a field with daisies,â was Taylorâs most listened to song. Taylor gifted her a painting she made w these exact lyrics.
karlie really said spring breaks loose, huh?

God!!! đ I'm still trying to figure out how Taylor managed to once again get away with such a blatant Karlie reference. đ

do you interpret mastermind as "i orchestrated/designed the entire relationship with my beard" or as the genuine "i wanted to be with you so i planned out everything and none of it was accidental"?? or both maybe?
i completely believe itâs about taylor and karlie oh my goodness no contest.
it fits so many kaylor songs and how we think about their relationship.
but not just how taylor planned out how she was going to win karlieâs heart, itâs also a song that has a cute surprise twist midway through the song where itâs revealed that her love interest was also wooing her and knew she was being wooed!!
Didnât Karlie do a photoshoot recently where sheâs stepping on a cloud or something? On cloud 9?

Hi, there's an eye/s on Taylor's black shoulder dress.. the one where she's wearing mask. Its from twitter, thought might share it here. Karlie also wore a red dress w/ a lot of eyes on her shoulder too.đ

Honestly Taylors jewelry looks like a custom Schiaparelli piece! Have you seen the full collection? Iâve been giggling over it since Karlie wore that red jumpsuit đïž
Tell me more about New Yearâs Day
Ok, it is a long read, written half drunk (excellent  Monbazillac straight outta Dorgogne)  not gonna edit the train of thoughts, so here you go:
When Taylor talked about this song, she said she found the âinspirationâ in new years eve parties and how the day after you stay with the one you share your life with to clean the mess and spend the day in peace, in private which is a huge contrast with the partying. Here is how I read it. This song wraps up the album. But imo, in taylor private life it describes her transition from NYE its glitter and polaroid aka the 1989 era with the social media and media overexposure, the girls squad, the friends, the parties, the outings. âyou and me from the night beforeâ: everything they lived during this phase in life that she is about to put behind her.She is scared because she doesnât know what the reaction of the person sheâs singing for would be if they get to the last page of the book she is about to close, will that person stay for the next one? This is almost the only song in which she talks about doubts coming from the other person because they are both scared. She says she wants the celebrations but sheâd also stick to do lifeâs mundane tasks when the lights are out, and by that I think it means the beginning of her blackout phase.Verse 2 is where they start putting this plan en route, their taxi ride. It is a very interesting non verbal exchange, the other person squeezing her hand is a sign of reassurance, one that is done by someone who doesnât need words to say what you need to hear, your long term SO, your BFF or a close family member. She replies that even if this trip is long, she is not going anywhere and will be there for the worst and for better times alike. In the post chorus and the bridge, I think she is preparing her love interest for a difficult part. A part where they will probably be physically separated from each other for longer periods than they are used to before. Thus asking the person to hold on to the memories they shared together (3 times. you can stretch and reach and say it corresponds to 3 years relationship before the blackout if you feel like it, I donât make the rules). And then she tells her love interest that if they hold on to these memories she will hold on to them as a pair. She is not leaving, she is just retreating. She is asking them not to forget her and this relationship she is trying to keep during this new phase of life, where their separate lives would probably be less in sync than before. She knows her lover like the back of her hand and could not stand the idea of them becoming strangers.Overall, at first I did not pay attention to the depth of it I really just thought she was describing the aftermath of a party. But she is not. Wouldnât you expect a mention of alcohol here (in Taylorâs most alcohol-drenched album)? well surprise, there is none. Because it is not describing an actual party, but her transition from the 1989 to the Rep era and wanting her partner to cross that bridge with her. Some sort of âthrough thick-and-thin promiseâ in a form of a soft ballad. It also strikes me as a narrative of a long term relationship where two people are settled in a certain lifestyle and they are about to make a drastic change due to what life throws at them and they are maybe hesitantly walking to their destination but holding hands firmly. So thatâs my meta-analysis and very liberally done interpretation of this song. It was a head-scratcher for me, she wrote it and recorded it quite fast and felt that THIS is the song that should wrap up an album she called reputation with and that she is releasing after she completely turned her public life around. And this is how it made sense to me.

âDonât put me on display âcause you donât own me. Donât try to change me in any wayâ
âWe twist in our self-made cages and pray that we arenâtâright this minuteâabout to make some fateful life-altering mistake⊠For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searchingâhoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve⊠weâll meet ourselves.â
The entire Eras Tour is a commentary on fame. It isnât just abt her masters, itâs abt Taylor Swift the brand. Itâs abt her finally deciding to put her happiness before her fans. Gagaâs Applause followed by You Donât Own Me. The Archer transitioning into Fearless w the lover house burning down. The seven spoken word poem. Donât Blame Me/LWYMMD w the bird cage. Wildest Dreams/Bad Blood w the lover house burning down again. Giant Anti Hero Taylor screaming at the audience to see her. The (closet) door descending during Karma. The Late Night Edition thatâs available exclusively at the shows w âDear Reader youâre losing me.â Itâs all addressed to the fans. Sheâs done being a mirrorball trapped in a display case.
