Some Old Star Wars Art For May The Fourth

It’s a screenshot redraw of the original trio plus Chewie from Star Wars. Chewbacca is closest to the viewer though his face is out of view and only his ammunition strap/part of his body can be seen. Han Solo is peaking out from behind him. Han has brown skin and dark brown hair. He is wearing a yellow-tinged shirt with a blue vest over it and his ears are pierced. The shirt is low enough to show part of his chest where there is a scar peaking out from under his tit. Leia stands next to him, significantly shorter but still visible. She is wearing a white headscarf that is styled to look like two buns and a white dress that has a large fold over the shoulders. She has brown skin and a few freckles. Lastly is Luke, who is holding a blaster in his left hand. He also has brown skin and far more freckles than Leia, though he also has acne scars peppering his face. He is wearing a white tunic. The group is placed against a nondescript blue-toned background. Soft lighting comes from the left while harsh lighting comes from the right, illuminating a couple strands of hair and fur.
It’s a digital painting of Padmé Amidala and Aayla Secura based on La Belle Dame Sans Merci by Francis Bernard Dicksee. Padmé is depicted as an East Asian woman with brown skin and black hair. She is mounted on a fathier with her right hand holding the reigns while her left is across her torso. She wears her blue nightgown and is looking down at Aayla with a soft smile. Aayla stands at the fathier’s side with her right hand holding onto a rope at its flank while her left goes off screen. She wears redesigned robes, which are brown in color and cover most of her body save her right arm, and she is looking up at Padmé. Her gaze is full of adoration; she is simply infatuated.
it's a two page comic of Kix and Finn from Star Wars done in minimal colors of mostly blue and pink. In the first page, the beginning panels are focused on various pieces of armor, Kix's hands, and then Finn's face. Back and forth dialogue between them reads: Kix: "How's that?" Finn: "This is what you guys wore?" Kix: "Mhm. Standard Phase II Gar-issued armor. How's it fit?" Finn: "A lot better than whatever the First Order put us in. Feels like it might actually protect me from a hit or two. It's nice." Kix: "Good. It's yours now." Finn: "What?" The next panel focuses on Kix, who is older with long, greying hair. He wears a pair of rectangular glasses and a blue jacket. "What?" Finn asks and Kix repeats himself saying "It's yours now, kid." Finn: "Are you serious?" Kix: "Wouldn't be saying that if I wasn't, now would I?" Finn continues to argue, "But it's the last you have of your brothers. I can't take this."

The second page first focuses on flashbacks of Kix with his armor, showered in bright pink light as opposed to blue. Saleucami, Umbara, and then Anaxes. The scene changes back to the present where Finn is still speaking as Kix picks up a piece of his armor and a mug of caf cools off in the background. Finn: "I don't understand. Kix?" As Kix looks down at one of his shoulder bells, he replies, "I've thought about it long and hard, but the truth is, I don't have much use for this armor anymore. My fighting days are over and all it's going to do is sit in a trunk if I keep holding onto the past. It's time for me to let go and pass it on to someone else." There's a sequence of panels of Jesse, Hardcase, Fives, Rex, Tup, and then, finally, Finn. It's then that Kix says "You're my brother too, Finn." He then backtracks, going on to say "Now of course, it's only if you want it, but—" but Finn cuts him off by saying "Thank you", his arms wrapped around a surprised Kix in a hug. "Thank you, Kix." After getting over his initial shock, Kix smiles softly and hugs him back. "Of course, vod'ika." He replies.
It's a drawing of Finn as a Jedi. He wears a shiny orange jacket with "Finn Dameron" written on the back in aurebesh and he holds an ignited blue lightsaber while his free hand hangs at his side. His back is facing the viewer though his head is turned to the side and he is looking back. He also has a pistol holstered at his thigh and a gold earring.
It’s a page-long comic focused on Rex from the Clone Wars. Going from top to bottom, the first row is divided into four panels. The first panel shows two hands holding onto a black hair clipper from a side view. The person’s skin is brown, and it’s dropped against a dark blue background. The second is a closeup of Rex’s face, where his roots are showing underneath blond dye. He is looking down, with only part of his face visible, the rest cut off by the borders of the panel. The third shows his reflection in a mirror over a sink, his eyes cut off by the top border of the panel. A pink scar is visible going over his chin and he has a five o’clock shadow growing in. The fourth, and final panel of the row shows Rex bringing the clipper to his hair to shave it all off. His face is not visible, only the top of his head and part of his hand. “One day” is written on the top of this panel. The next row features 3 long panels—one on either side and then in the middle—with four smaller panels in between them. Hair is falling in the first long panel, and at the bottom, text reading “I’ll stop” is printed. The four short panels feature: Cody, Fives Hardcase, and Tup. All of them are smiling or laughing; they seem happy. The next panel is a long panel and it is a closeup of Rex shaving his hair from a side view. His face is not visible, but his ear, the clipper, some of his shirt, and some of his hair are. Next to it are four more panels featuring: Kix, Jesse, Dogma, and Denal. Kix, Jesse, and Denal are all smiling while Dogma looks stoic as ever. Next to it is the last long panel with text reading “seeing your face” printed at the top. The small panels are backdropped against yellow while the long ones have dark blue backgrounds.

It's a drawing of Barriss and Fox on Coruscant sitting on a docking ramp. Barriss looks upset and Fox wears a tired expression as he talks to her. Fox is drawn with black hair streaked with gray, heavy eyeballs, and a scar across his lips. Barriss is wearing simple brown robes and a headscarf. The scene is illuminated by various street signs and a bright light hanging from the side of a roof.
It's a drawing of Rex and Echo with their foreheads and noses pressed together in a Hongi after Echo has been rescued. Echo is drawn with brown skin which has lost some of its color thanks to his time in stasis and he sports burn scars as well as leftover frost.
It's a drawing spread of some of the Bad Batch where they are actually drawn to resemble Temeura Morrison. First is Crosshair, who is albino and has freckles, holding up Omega who has brown skin and piebaldism with lighter patches of skin across her face and hands. Omega holds his jaw while they press their noses and foreheads together in a hongi. The second drawing is of Tech and Echo, the former tinkering on something while the latter is asleep against him. Tech is drawn with brown skin, curly red/orange hair, and goggles. Echo is also drawn with brown skin though his features are slightly sunken as the result of malnourishment. He wears a metal headpiece and arc armor which has been painted grey and black and has a red handprint on the right side of the chest plate. He is also depicted with burn scars and a lighter scar across his face.
It’s a drawing of Ahsoka Tano and Anakin Skywalker in a Venator’s hangar. The background is a very simple grey wall with lights to the right of the frame. Anakin and Ahsoka are hugging—Anakin is leaning over her with his arms wrapped around her back, and Ahsoka has a visible hand on his. Anakin’s face is only partially visible, though it’s clear that his skin is brown and his locs are dark brown. He wears his usual Jedi robes. Ahsoka is wearing her outfit from the Siege of Mandalore and her face is visible, showing a smile on her lips.

TAKING A CLOSER LOOK AT THE JEDI ORDER IN STAR WARS CANON, PART IV [A Meta/Reference Guide on AO3] Aka, SO WHAT DO THE JEDI SAY AND DO IN THE ACTUAL CANON? This is the third part in my series of Jedi Culture and Teachings in Canon, where I have officially crossed the 100k after four years of working on this project, everyone congratulate me! And also send me prayers and strength because I still have something like two dozen novels to comb through and probably half a hundred more comics. So what's the point of all this? Well, first of all, I enjoy doing it, it's surprisingly fun to collate all of these citations! But it's also meant as a reference guide for if you want write meta about the themes and actions of the Jedi in the narrative or if you want some ideas for what's in the canon for wordbuilding so you can write fic or build further on what's already there! Do what you want with it, babes, I put all this together so you don't have to dig through 500 different pieces of Star Wars to find out if they tell you whether or not Jedi younglings have ever tried to toast a block of cheese with a lightsaber. (Spoiler alert: They absolutely did try it and it was a disaster and I love every one of those hellion younglings.) This is a guide to pretty much anything I could think of as relevant to the Jedi--worldbuilding on how the Force feels to use, descriptions of the Jedi Temple, any school classes the Jedi had, attitudes towards the Jedi from the public, why the Jedi decide to join any given conflict, all the swear words they use, anything I could get my hands on regarding Jedi healing--all of it is put into these guides and this is another 25k+ of reference for you to nerd out about if you want. The guide is broken down into seven sections as before:

How the Force Works

Jedi Culture & Philosophy & Teachings

Jedi As a People

Psychic Space Wizards Doing Psychic Space Wizard Things

Jedi Temple (Living Quarters and Dining Halls!)

Jedi Outreach, Politics, and the Bigger Galaxy

Jedi, Buddhism, and Everything Else

I’ll take whatever Matthew Stover was having when he wrote the Revenge of the Sith novelization-

“This is how it feels to be Anakin Skywalker, forever: The first dawn of light in your universe brings pain. The light burns you. It will always burn you. Part of you will always lie upon black glass sand beside a lake of fire while flames chew upon your flesh.”

“This was not Sith against Jedi. This was not light against dark or good against evil; it had nothing to do with duty or philosophy, religion or morals. It was Anakin against Obi-Wan. Personally. Just the two of them and the damage they had done to each other.”

“But even in the deepest night, there are some who dream of dawn.”

“In the end, the shadow is all you have left. Because the shadow understands you, the shadow forgives you, the shadow gathers you unto itself—And within your furnace heart, you burn in your own flame.”

“This is Obi-Wan Kenobi: A phenomenal pilot who doesn’t like to fly. A devastating warrior who’d rather not fight. A negotiator without peer who frankly prefers to sit alone in a quiet cave and meditate.”

“Everything dies. In time, even stars burn out. This is why Jedi form no attachments: all things pass. To hold on to something—or someone—beyond its time is to set your selfish desires against the Force.”

“Obi-Wan looked down. It would be a mercy to kill him. He was not feeling merciful”

“This story happened a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. It is already over. Nothing can be done to change it.”

Neat how both Cody and Obi-Wan are absolute bruisers when push comes to shove. Something about being composed and professional while also having a talent for inflicting blunt force trauma. Rocking up to the Star War with nothing but your fists and winning (most of the time)
