This is Me challenge I was challenged by xoronis to do a little ‘this is me’ challenge, where I draw or collage 20 of my favorite things.  I thought it was a nice little idea so, I decided to sketch my response ^_^  1: Myself : … I don’t want to seem egotistical, I-I’m really not trying to be… but, I think there was a time in my life where I would never have put myself on a list of things I like… and I think its important to appreciate yourself, and who you are, and to be proud of that. Humble, but proud ^^  2: A Transgender Flag :  This…mainly because I am.. Its not a fact I often advertise…its not a fact that often comes up in conversation.. and, whenever I finally bring myself to tell people, I always have a little panic attack… But it is certainly a part of who I am, so, I really wanted to share that with all of you now that I have an opportunity to do so.. I hope thats okay, really <3 3: The Purple Canvas: Purple is my favorite color, I like warmer purples but, the color always makes me smile, and I enjoy it as a backdrop to this piece ^_^ 

4: Butterflies : Butterflies are my most favorite thing in the whole world. I love them so much. They’re so gentle and bright and colorful, and they always brighten my day to see one. I always wear a butterfly brooch whenever I leave my home. I just love to have one close to my heart whenever I can. 

5: Birds: Here in this picture represented by a singular bird, but I love birds, I love hearing their songs in the morning and watching them hop and fly around. I  tend to say hello to every bird I pass on the street… My friends can tell you I’ll probably stop talking mid-sentence to say hello to a passerby bird ^^ 6: Bats: Another of my favorite animal ^_^ I remember when I used to live in Savannah, we had a whole family of bats that would live in the trees outside our home, and I loved watching them fly around. They’re adorable creatures. 

7: Wings: One thing Butterflies, Bats, Birds, and little Fluttershy have in common is their wings… I love wings, and flying, wings are probably my favorite thing to draw, and my most favorite thing to animate by far <3 8: Sunshine: I love the warmth of a sunny day. Days in the high 80s are my absolute favorite 9: Nature: Here represented by some Ivy vines, and some roses, but I love nature. I love the smell of flowers, and greenery, and just about every critter and insect around.. The days that I can spend out in nature are my most favorite ^_^ 

10: Videogames: Represented by a pokeball, one of my less earthy loves is pokemon and other nintendo games, they’re a lot of fun on those rainy days, and a little competition is always fun ^^

11: Mr. Rogers: Represented by my sweater in the drawing.. any of my followers probably already know that I love Mr. Rogers. I love how kind he was. how genuine he was about being honest and open with others. He’s really a true inspiration to me, and I love just how much he loved everyone around him. 

12: Paper: Represented by the backdrop of the piece. Paper is where I started with my love of creating art.. back when I was little and I just had a sheet of paper and some crayons, I would always be drawing, always doodling, on every test I ever got in school, in the margin of every notebook. I truly don’t think there is a sheet of paper in my home that doesn’t have a drawing on it, its such an open and freeing experience to draw, and I love so so much.

13: Animation: Represented by the Peg  holes in the bottom of the drawing. Those are hole punches that we used to put in our animation paper (back when we worked on paper anyway) to hold the paper steady on the animation table ^_^ Animation is such a delight. I love bringing a sheet of paper, or a blank digital canvas to life through animation. I am so fortunate to have the job that I  have. And to any aspiring animators out there, I know the work is really really hard to get right, and it may seem difficult, but if its really what you want to do, please stick with it ^_^ Its so much fun and so rewarding and there is really no other job like it <3 Its difficult, but you’ll love it, I promise. 

14: Music: represented by the sheet music bar. Which actually has the Firebird Suite Finale notes written on it ^_^ I love music so much, particularly when combined with animation, Aside from the Firebird Suite (Which is a breathtaking sequence in Fantasia 2000), some of my favorite songs to listen to are Float On by Modest Mouse, Forever Young as performed by Pete Seeger, and Rainbow Connection from The Muppets ^_^ 15: Disney: Represented by the Mickey Hat. I’m a disney fangirl through and through ^_^ I take all my vacations in Disney World…their movies are what inspired me to make art.. and I probably wouldn’t be here drawing if it wasn’t for their spark… 

16: Spiders: I know they aren’t on many peoples lists but… I love them. I think they’re adorable and clever creatures. I’m often the one in my studio running to save them from being crushed and bringing them back outside to safety. They get a bad reputation, but they’re really not so bad once you get to know them ^^

17: Crying. Represented by the tear drops on the right side… I love to cry… I know it upsets some folks here to find out that I’m spending a night crying.. but it really helps when things start to feel heavy. Its a cleansing experience… and although it does mean that I’m hurting…it also means that Im healing, and I think thats really very nice. Music also helps a lot … nothing makes me cry more than a sad song.. my favorite of which being ‘Don’t Let Us Get Sick’ as performed by Jill Sobule ^_^ 

18: Art. A bit of an umbrella concept… but I love creating art…and I love sharing it… I love being able to connect with all of y’all by sharing my art, and I love seeing everyone elses, and enjoying what other artists create and share. Which is why I drew this piece to share with all of you… and I apologize that his post is so long.. ^///^ 19: Fluttershy. Fluttershy is a character that means the world to me. I … can’t even begin to describe the impact she’s had on my life, but she has. My Little Pony is really the only fandom I’ve ever been a part of… and its been really beautiful. I probably never would have discovered MLP or gotten into it, or met any of y’all if it wasn’t for how much I connected with the character of Fluttershy.  20: You. … I couldn’t really draw this into the piece but… the thing I love most, and the one I saved for last, is you. I say it at the end of everything I post, and I mean it with all my heart. I love you, each and every one of you from the  bottom of my heart. You’re all so very special to me and I really couldn’t imagine a world without you all in it. I hope you all understand just how truly wonderful you are.  The end <3 I hope you all enjoyed learning a little bit about me… I know I don’t talk about myself much…I’m .. not the most talkative, but I really did want to take this opportunity to open up to you all a bit more, because I really do love you <3  Now as per the rules of this challenge, I need to invite 5 more folks to do the same… so I choose cwiiis ask-frigiddrift xxdoodle-pupxx shiningarmorrps and alpha-alfalfa . Fanfiction Club: The Rules

This idea came to me when I woke up first thing this morning.

Jubilee in Peril Commission

An animation commission that may explain my extended slow down in posting around here, and why I rarely take animation commissions. Fun as it is to bring something to life, its often very time consuming. In fact I employed the aid of Toonboom to try and ease some of the workload, which it did! ^_^ though at the expense of the hand drawn quality I love so much ^^;

In any case I was commissioned to have Jubilee of the X-men being bound with a kerchief over her mouth by gloved hands ^_^

A fun project all things considered, though I think I’ll shy away from many other animation commissions in the future. I much rather save those large scale projects for my own ideas and passions ^_^ at least for now.

Rick and Morty Commission

I was asked to make a Commission of Rick and Morty with their boyfriend included in some way for a Valentine’s Day present. So I felt it would be fitting to have the guys fending off some sort of creature ^_^

I’ve seen a few episodes of Rick and Morty, but this is my first time drawing any of the characters ^^

Definitely a fun show, what I’ve seen of it at least ^_^ and I definitely had fun designing a llittle alien type aquatic creature ^^

I hope you’re all ready to enjoy a lovely Valentine’s day with your Special Someones. And if you are flying solo this year, then I hope you have a lovely Valentine’s day to enjoy some personal time and enjoy doing the things you love doing ^_^
