Jubilee in Peril Commission

An animation commission that may explain my extended slow down in posting around here, and why I rarely take animation commissions. Fun as it is to bring something to life, its often very time consuming. In fact I employed the aid of Toonboom to try and ease some of the workload, which it did! ^_^ though at the expense of the hand drawn quality I love so much ^^;

In any case I was commissioned to have Jubilee of the X-men being bound with a kerchief over her mouth by gloved hands ^_^

A fun project all things considered, though I think I’ll shy away from many other animation commissions in the future. I much rather save those large scale projects for my own ideas and passions ^_^ at least for now.

Winnie’s Awooo 

I decided I wanted to get some practice using Photoshop’s animation tools, and thought I’d give my little Winnie pose some more life in the process ^__^

I actually really enjoyed the photoshop tools, I had lots more control on my line cleanup than I do with vector programs I use normally ^^ hopefully I’ll get a little bit better with navigating the program next time, but for now I wanted to share my little Winnie howl animation with you all ^_^

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard

Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.

Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.

Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.

Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.

SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.

SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.

Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.

Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.

Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.

Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.

Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

Every Day’s a Good Day

Nothing spectacular here, but its still special <3

Bob Ross is one of my favorite people… I look to him for inspiration. I admire his positivity. And I see a lot of who I want to be in him. Not for his talents so much, although he’s an outstanding artist,  but for his patience, and his openness..his softness. His gentle strength.

I have had some people recently approach me,  send me emails, or texts..saying that they appreciate, or look up to my positive outlook or my attempts at kindness and, honestly I don’t feel all that deserving of that ‘admiration’ … I don’t even have a word I can call it that makes me feel comfortable. I sound boastful, but I don’t mean to be, really.. I’m only saying it at all because lately I have been very negative…frightened, and lashing out…curt and loud…bitter..and have just been very disappointed in myself.

I’m far from perfect, I’m far from good, but I’m trying…and when I really need help or direction, some way to put my life back on track, I try and look at Bob Ross.He always make me feel better. Not just emotionally, but … existentially.

He makes me feel better. like a better person… and I really want to try to be better for you all. Kinder, Warmer. Stronger.

I don’t know how much I have to offer, but I promise to be as positive as I can be, even in these not so positive times. We need positivity.

No matter what happens I want to be kind, and understanding, and loving, and forgiving, and I’m going to try. 

and I hope you’ll all be positive too ^_^ we need to be kind, all of us. For as long as we can, and then longer than that.
