"Not Annoying."

Isagi had been going on about his new teammate for weeks.

“You’ll like him,” he said. “He’s a little quiet at first, but he’s a great guy.”

So, when he finally introduced you to Kurona Ranze after practice, you were more than ready.

Kurona, on the other hand, looked very unsure.

He stood beside Isagi, hands stuffed into the pockets of his jacket, pink eyes flickering between you and the ground. His pink hair was a little messy from training, and the way he shifted his weight from foot to foot made it clear that he wasn’t used to this kind of attention.

“Uh… nice to meet you,” he said, voice soft but polite.

You smiled warmly. “Nice to meet you too! I’ve heard a lot about you.”

Kurona shot Isagi a quick look, as if trying to figure out exactly what he had said. Isagi just grinned.

“Don’t worry,” you laughed. “It was all good things.”

Kurona nodded, his lips twitching upward slightly. He still seemed unsure, but at least he was trying to engage. You appreciated that.

As the three of you talked, he started opening up little by little. His answers became longer, his voice steadier, and he even started making small comments on the conversation. And then—

“Sharks, sharks.”

You blinked. “Huh?”

Kurona hesitated for a split second before continuing. “I, uh— I like sharks. Sharks, sharks are cool.”

He immediately tensed, almost like he wanted to take the words back. His pink eyes flickered to the side, avoiding yours, and he scratched at his cheek awkwardly.

Ah. He thought he was being annoying.

You tilted your head. “That’s cute.”

Kurona froze. “…What?”

“The way you repeat words,” you clarified. “It’s cute.”

His entire face turned red.

Isagi snorted. “Oh, man. You broke him.”

Kurona let out a quiet groan, covering half of his face with his sleeve. “I don’t— It’s not—”

You just grinned. “I mean it! It’s charming.”

He peeked at you through his fingers, still clearly flustered. But after a moment, his shoulders relaxed a little, and you noticed the tiniest smile tugging at his lips.

“…Thanks, thank you,” he mumbled.

And just like that, he completely warmed up to you.

By the end of the day, Kurona was walking beside you comfortably, occasionally adding his own quiet remarks to the conversation—sometimes repeating words, sometimes not. But now, whenever he did, there was no hesitation. No embarrassment.

Because he knew you thought it was cute.
