thinking about how guilty charlie must have felt about neil’s death because if he just hadn’t listened to mr keating, if he’d persisted and fought my perry a bit harder, if he’d done something more then maybe neil would never have gone home and maybe neil would still be alive

the first time i watched this scene i found it funny when todd thew up but now when i watch i get it... this scene genuinely makes me feel sick to my stomach in the most heart aching gut wrenching way 

this sequence absolutely breaks me bc todd was taking in the beautiful scenery and wanted to share the moment with neil out of habit but then he turns around, searches through the dps members and remembers neil is gone now and becomes physically sick realizing he’s lost his best friend and lover... this seems like a basic insight of the film but i didn’t understand the emotional depth of the scene until my second watch
