Luke, you’re going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. Anakin was a good friend. When I first met him, your father was already a great pilot. But I was amazed how strongly the Force was with him. I took it upon myself to train him as a Jedi. […] Bury your feelings deep down, Luke. They do you credit, but they could be made to serve the Emperor. I will always defend Obi-Wan’s motivations in this scene, given what we know of the prequels, why he made the choices he did and how it’s not lying just for the sake of manipulation. He’s faced with this good-natured kid (this blond, blue-eyed child from the deserts of Tatooine) who wants to do good in the galaxy, who has such a strong connection to the Force, who is an amazing pilot, who has all these desperately strong feelings and an overwhelming need to find a greater path in life. Who is going to face a Sith Lord who is a master of manipulation, who takes that desire for an authority/father figure and preys on it, who will twist this good-hearted kid into serving his own will, no matter how well intentioned this kid is. No matter how sure of himself he is, the Emperor, knows how he can fool him and find a way to slither into his heart, to put him in an impossible situation where he has to serve the Emperor because he wants to save someone. Obi-Wan isn’t omitting the truth to Luke just because it’s easier, but because he’s seen what Palpatine did to Anakin. Sweet, good-natured Anakin, this blond haired, blue-eyed child from the deserts of Tatooine who wanted to do so much good in the galaxy, who so badly wanted to help people, who wanted to save people, who had this tremendous well of feelings roiling around in him, who was manipulated and preyed upon by Palpatine. Palpatine used Anakin’s feelings against him, to destroy that good in him until nothing was left. Used his desire for a kindly authority figure who validated everything he spent his whole life wanting to hear. Of course he would do the exact same thing to Luke, and telling Luke about Vader (who has fallen so far that he cannot be trusted with Luke, who they fear would only turn him over to the Emperor, because Vader seemed to wholly, truly believe in the Emperor) would only send Luke running to them to be manipulated, to be told everything he’s spent his life wanting to hear, to have a kindly father/father figure put him in another impossible position. Obi-Wan can’t do that again, not after it destroyed that person he loved so much, not after it killed all the good in Anakin Skywalker.
1. Hitoshi Shinsou
1. a fun headcanon
I feel like after joining the hero course, Hitoshi kind of gradually makes his way into the Bakusquad. Except, he doesn't realize it at first.
He is, of course, very close to Denki. And Mina, Sero, and Kirishima are always nice to him, but like. They don't really think of him as a friend of theirs, right? Just a friend of Denki's who hangs out with them sometimes. And he's convinced that Bakugou hates him (he doesn't realize that Bakugou is just Like That™).
But then one day, while the students are out on another fun shopping trip or something like that, someone outside of the school makes the unfortunate decision to talk about Shinsou. Specifically, about how he's destined for evil because of his quirk, how U.A. has lowered their standards, how he's probably planning to sell the others out to the L.O.V., ect.
Before Shinsou even has time to reply, Bakugou is going fucking berserk on these people. And just take a moment to imagine...
Kirishima, who stepped away with the rest of the squad for 2 minutes to get drinks: Oh, come on, man- what set him off this time?
Shinsou: Well, they called me a villain, but I'm used to that; it's really not worth-
Kirishima, Sero, Mina, and Denki, together: Oh, fuck no-
Long story short, the squad is asked to leave the premises because at this point the strangers who insulted Shinsou were outnumbered and the fight was getting a bit out of hand. Anyway-
Shinsou: Not that I don't appreciate it, but what was that about? It's not that big of a deal, I'm used to people-
Sero: You shouldn't be used to that.
Denki: Get used to having friends who care about you.
Kirishima: We've got your back, dude!
Mina: We may jokingly insult each other, but no one is allowed to bully you like that.
Bakugou: And if anyone has anything to say about it, I'll kick their ass!
I love the idea that Shinsou forms strong bonds with people in the hero course and makes real friends who will encourage him and believe in him, because he's never really had that before, and I feel like the somewhat aggressive but very loving support of the Bakusquad is exactly what Shinsou needs.
Luke: This droid says he’s yours.
Obi-Wan, out of pure habit and instinct: I have never seen this droid before my life and I cannot be held responsible for anything it has done
Listen Captain Jack Harkness doesn’t forget a bitch and u know he heard Rose and Nine talking about Platform 1 and the end of Earth and u know the Face of Boe made his attendants take him not to see the world end but for Drama of it all he rolled in there in his tank like “sup bitches the Face of Boe is here to watch my boyfriend and girlfriend from five billion years ago fuck shit up bc I missed this adventure the first time round and you better believe I’m not missing it again” because Jack Harkness doesn’t forget bitch even in five billion years
Simple Plan recording the What’s New Scooby-Doo? theme song
I have a lot of feelings about the kenobi-skywalker-tano family and their daily interactions like
you can’t tell me that at one point anakin and ahsoka didn’t grow bored during a mission and started debating among themselves who’s obi-wan’s favourite and the arguments are getting more and more ridiculous like ‘yesterday he patted me on the shoulder absently so obviously he unconsciously prefers me’ ‘excuse you I’m his only padawan and I’m pretty sure he almost laughed at one of my jokes about windu’s butt 4 years ago’
and obi-wan is sitting right next to them
of course at one point he feels the need to stop all of this nonsense with ‘this debate is ridiculous and unworthy of jedi. Ahsoka made me a cup of tea this morning so of course she’s my favourite right now.’
the level of betrayal on anakin’s face can only be compared to the level of glee on ahsoka’s face
but the worst is when ahsoka is away on a mission by herself and anakin can’t help worrying, even when rex tries to make him feel better: ‘she’s going to be fine sir, we need to trust her. I mean, she is general kenobi’s favourite after all’
anakin stays outraged and gasping and only whispers ‘et tu, brute?’ every time he sees rex for the next three days

I just browsed through the Jedi section of the Star Wars fandom and here seems to be the general consensus on stuff:
Literally everyone breaks the code and gets attached to everyone but Mace Windu pretends he doesn’t.
Almost everyone is close with their clones whether it be as bffs, lovers, or brothers in arms.
Aayla Secura and Commander Bly were totally in love.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is tired of Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano’s shit but always gets himself into shit.
Quinlan Vos is Aayla’s fake brother I think?
Plo Koon is everyone’s dad.
Depa Billaba is Caleb/Kanan’s mom.
Anakin is pretty of face and dumb of ass but Ahsoka is too so it’s okay.
Actually speaking of Anakin and Ahsoka, Anakin is a Proud Dad but has no idea what he’s doing.
Pretty much everyone knew about Anidala.
Obi-Wan was in love at some point. Whether it was with Cody or Satine or both is up for debate.
Kit Fisto was with Aayla at some point but whether he still is or not has very little consensus.
Luminara Unduli is pretty strict but not a bad person.
Shaak Ti is everyone’s mom.
Katooni survived Order 66 and crashed with Hondo until she got older. Some people think her friends did too and some don’t.
Ki Adi Mundi would have been cool with Anidala.
Mace Windu is a party pooper on love.
Yoda is everyone’s weirdass grandpa.
What are you talking about? Revenge of the Sith and Order 66 never happened?
Hunger Games didn’t really eat holes in my brain the way that it did for some other people but god the opening lines. The opening lines. Katniss wakes up in bed and immediately, instinctively reaches beside her, only to find the bed empty and cold. Before we even know her name – before we know literally anything about her or this world or her place in that world – we know that she loves someone. We know that she is reaching for where Prim should be, sleeping safe and warm beside her, but Prim is not there. She is not there, and her half of the bed is cold and empty. People talk about characters being “doomed by the narrative” when most of the time the character was literally just a well-foreshadowed death, but Prim WAS doomed by the narrative. It’s the very first thing we learned. It’s the most key, integral, important piece of information we’re given about everything that is about to happen: Every single choice Katniss makes is to protect her little sister, and it isn’t enough. In the end, Prim still dies. Prim was dead before the story even started. Katniss, reaching. Prim’s side of the bed was cold and empty. There is no version of this story where Prim could have been saved. Katniss, reaching. The very first thing she does in the series. She wakes, and she reaches, but Prim is already gone. THAT is how you do Doomed By The Narrative. Edit: Also it is key that there was literally nothing Katniss could have done differently. If she had not acted to save Prim, Prim would not have survived the Hunger Games. But by acting to save Prim, Katniss accidentally kicked off an entire rebellion and ultimately massively increased the amount of danger Prim was actually in. The key is that this is irrelevant. If Katniss had done literally anything differently, Prim still would have died. If Katniss had faltered or changed course at any point, Prim still would have died. There was never a point where Katniss could have changed Prim’s fate. There’s no version of this story where Prim lives to see the end of it. She’s dead before the story begins. That’s doomed by the narrative.
