Death is a natural part of life. Not your death though. Your death is gonna be super fucked up.
The things going on with Neil and windows make me want to bash my head against a wall
The first scene of the movie where we see Neil and Todd’s room, the one where Charlie, Meeks and Knox introduce themselves to Todd, and where we see for the first time how controlling Neil’s father is over Neil’s life, Neil was in front of a window
And, this was the focus on Neil (and the window behind him) after his father entered
He, very obviously, is not happy, and the focus is not only on his face and reaction, but the background is also a window. A closed window.
Windows look into the outside. Freedom, I would say. The window is closed, Neil doesn’t have freedom.
Which reminds of
There’s this deleted scene of Neil reading his script, sitting in front of a window and looking outside of it. The window is also closed.
The window is closed, but he is looking at the outside through it.
At the start, Neil wasn’t even looking outside the window, he was just in front of it, but now (before the play), he was looking to the outside, even if it was still closed.
Neil is looking at freedom. He wants freedom, he seeks it. At the start, Neil wasn’t even looking for it, convinced than he would never be allowed that and would just follow his father’s wishes and be trapped forever. In that scene, he was looking for freedom. He didn’t have it yet, the window was closed, but he was looking for it. He wanted it, he was willingly to seek it. And he did seek it on the movie, he continued with the play, even if against his father’s words. He wanted the freedom, and he went to get it.
The last shot with a window (than a remember), is this one
The window is open.
There’s an evolution, as we see.
First, closed window, not even looking at the outside (he’s trapped, and doesn’t think that will ever change, so he just succumbed to it), then, closed window but looking at the outside (still trapped, but seeking freedom and willingly to get it, even if he’s going against his father). Now, open window, looking directly at the outside. He has that freedom now, somehow. He can choose what to do with his life. Can choose to continue and go to military school, or end it, by choice, taking his life on his hands.
Today, i saw real jily in the bus. It was fucking cool.

'I love this painting because it speaks to all mankind.' That's not the reason anyone loves a piece of art. It's a secret whisper from an alleyway. Psst, you. Hey kid. Yes, you. ... You see one painting, I see another,

okay but can we talk about sybill angst... imagine she predicted everyone's deaths and distanced herself from them because she knew she couldn't prevent it... so much untapped potential
Pitts is the guy, who has all the time tables ( it's the right way to say times when bus/train goes?) memorized
you can tell that the barbie movie is going to be iconic because it's already generated two "recreate this with your favourite character(s)" trends despite the fact that it isn't coming out until july
