I have fallen, fallen very hard…
This all of this! Spot on!🙌
At this point I feel like asking someone how they feel about the lawsuit arc is a good judge of character or at least a good judge of how likely they are to be insufferable in fandom.
I get that with the ‘found family of it all’ we’re supposed to feel bad for the 118 but I just can’t find it in me. The law suit arc made the 118 look like an unsafe place to work. There’s some throw away line after Bucks come back about how Buck had to sign a bunch of things prohibiting him from potentially suing the LAFD again and all I could think was ‘so if this happens again Buck will be completely unprotected, cool!’
And with Buck and Eddie I feel like it can be argued that Eddie abandoned Buck more than Buck abandoned Eddie. Buck tried to reach out and mend things and Eddie shut him down. Eddie was spiraling in his own grief and self sabotaging behavior and throughout the entire arc Eddie is essentially telling Buck to ‘get over it’. All that on top of the obvious fact that Buck had no obligation to prioritize his friend and his friends kid over fighting for fair treatment in the workplace.
Apologies for the rant & sorry if you’re ready to move on from this topic! Feel free to delete this 😅
you’re completely right anon.
I feel like Tommy and Sal were the Eddie and Buck of their time frame.
SAL DELUCA + the face of a man who's about to report his boss
No one should defend it. It’s so refreshing just to block the idiots who think this behavior is justified. It makes me scared for those who are defending it.
I’ve only said this in DM today, but let me say it with my whole chest:
Eddie Diaz making Evan’s grief a “selfish” thing, telling him that his pain is “a tragedy in 97 parts”, and getting in his face… are marked points of domestic violence.
further, while a side of the fandom has been shitting all over those of us who were triggered by his behavior, he even completes the cycle!
he abuses Evan verbally, emotionally, and physically (hit or no, he grabbed him by the collar. that qualifies as domestic violence.)
then, when he realizes hes done wrong, he doesn’t apologize or take ownership of his actions. he doubles down with the “gone to the airport” note, judges Evan for assuming he meant he was leaving, and then presents Chris as his “apology” for “being a jerk”.
soooo, let’s take count, shall we?
-abuse
-silent treatment
-minimization
-a gift in place of apology
aaaaand, oh look. we’re back at the start of the cycle. and this is twice now in one season. but absolutely, Eddie Diaz is a great partner option for Evan Buckley. [she says with so much sarcasm]
Holy crap! Buck is Bi!!!! Really buck it was Tommy attention you wanted? Still so awesome
