OKAY!!! since people seem interested in the blood brothers au i will explain the premise. if i say something dumb sounding it's because i'm tired as hell. also putting everything under the cut bc it's kinda long

basically, the blood brothers au combines the parallel universe mentioned in journal 3 with the portal stan au, except it gets a bit. Dark

in the parallel universe, instead of fighting ford and pushing him into the portal, stan agrees to hide the journal somewhere far away and is never heard from again. his fate is entirely unknown to ford, who assumes the worst (and is correct to do so).

as described in j3, ford becomes world-famous and starts his institute of oddology in gravity falls. on the surface, he's a cheery man, always eager to help others, cordial towards everyone no matter what. he has everything he ever wanted in life! but ever since he lost stan, he can't bring himself to enjoy it, let alone believe he deserves it.

in the main universe, ford accidentally pushes stan into the portal and weeks later is driven to suicide by bill, who takes over gravity falls soon after.

stan keeps himself going for the next 30 years by thinking about his brother. one day he'll return and they'll reconcile, and they'll never be alone again. maybe if he's lucky they'll fulfill their childhood dream of sailing the seven seas together. in the meanwhile, stan hides these tender feelings under a tough exterior- as much as he misses ford, he can't afford to have a moment of weakness or slip up, especially with his status as a multidimensional criminal. and after 3 decades of biding his time, when he sees an opportunity to return to what seems like his universe, he takes it.

parallel ford sometimes spends his nights in the basement, sitting in front of an activated portal. he stares into its depths and thinks about what would happen if he entered it right now. he could die a thousand awful deaths. he could find a world where stan is still around. of course, he wouldn't dare, not with an entire institute to run and children in his care, but it doesn't hurt to indulge in those thoughts.

one night, the alarms on the nearby machinery begin to go off. it's late at night, and ford is at a low point. for all he cares, the portal could blow up and take him with it. he doesn't budge

what he doesn't expect is for his very own "brother" to emerge from the portal soon after, looking positively furious.

This scene right here..hurts I also am on fords side here. Imagine having someone you cared and loved deeply accidentally betraying you and just brushing your feelings off. I love stanley, but God, I hate him in this moment-

*Stan and Ford stood frozen, staring at the bright colorful creature in front of them. Its voice— clear, articulate, and entirely unexpected— hung in the air like an impossible riddle. Each twin reacted in their own way, though both were clearly struggling to process what was happening.*

"Woah… you can talk?"

*Stan took a step back, his hand reflexively moving to rub the back of his neck. His brows shot up, and his tone was a mix of shock and awe. He blinked a few times, half-expecting the Flareon to vanish into thin air. It didn’t.*

"Who are you? Actually, what are you?"

*Ford stepped closer, his curiosity outweighing his surprise. He adjusted his glasses, squinting slightly as if trying to make sense of the scene before him. His tone was calm, analytical, the excitement of encountering something new bubbling just under the surface.*

*Stan glanced at his brother, noticing that Ford was already falling into scientist mode, completely ignoring the initial question. Realizing he’d have to handle the social side of things, Stan sighed and turned back to the Flareon.*

"Well, uh… we’re doin’ just peachy. For the most part anyway."

*Stan’s tone was casual but still tinged with disbelief, his attempt at politeness barely masking the fact that he was still reeling. He gave the Flareon a slight, awkward nod, as if that would somehow make the situation feel more normal.*

Stupid rant about how ppl talk about Stanford and stuff- kinda like- how the Return To the Bunker wrote him and how that's how alot of ppl see him.

The amount of folks that think "Ford should've just trusted Stanley and Mabel! And everyone else!" Is like- sad.

Fords a victim of abuse and manipulation, and considering how him and Stan grew up, I wouldn't be surprised if Filbrick Pines contributed to both the twins childhood being shitty.

Ford, growing up, was always bullied and teased because of his six fingers, Stan (by accident) ruined Fords chance at becoming 'something' and not just a freak who had six fingers.

and IMO I think Ford had every right to be pissed when Stan said, "But hey! Treasure hunting??" Just completely dismissing Fords feelings.

Yes this was all caused by miscommunication which does happen, and it sucks that they had such a big fallout, Ford shouldn't have ignored his brother, but he was angry.

Now in the future wise, Ford most likely trusted Dipper more because he reminded him of himself when he was young.

But anyways, Ford was manipulated for fucking years by Bill, he trusted Bill and thought of him as a friend (untill ofc he realized what Bill's true intentions were) Bill than used Fords body WITHOUT his permission to do shit/mess with him, Ford was scared to fucking sleep. SLEEP.

Heck, Bill changed some words that Ford would use to something else.

Stan didn't mean to shove him into the portal but he did, Ford was mad that the portal was reopened bc of the threat of bill hanging around (Also in Journal three its said that he was about to kill Bill, which is why he was also pissed.)

Uhhhh, I kinda lost my train of thought, but Fords is not a bad guy. Has he made a lot of mistakes? Yes, but people change, heck one fucking line he says in weridmaggdion is-

"I'm sorry, Stanley, I know, just help me fix it, please!"

Like he knew he fucked up, and bro was also tortured.
