Shout out to everyone doing the hard yet necessary work of posting about fictional characters kissing online.
Cody: *Holds out a blaster for Obi Wan*
Obi Wan: I donāt believe in blasters.
Cody: Well, trust me, theyāre very real. Now take it.
Obi-wan, walking through the mess hall with bolognaise and garlic bread, dropping the garlic bread in the floor: This is sadder than when I was left in an active war zone, on my own at 13. Coby, spitting out his coffee: Excuse me? The rest of the 212th: whAt?!
@new-anon THANK YOU FOR THE *FEAST*
been watching a lot of first responder docs these days
Cody: I cut my finger Obi-wan: I can kiss it so it'll get better Cody: Does it work? Obi-wan: Yeah the healers used to do it when I was a kid *later that day* Cody: I need you to punch me in the mouth Wolffe: Fucking finally

Iāve got Star Wars on the brain, and Iām going to make it everyone elseās problem.
Now, shall we?
Okay, but what if Obi-wan had to haunt himself as a baby?
Mister low-self-esteem seeing himself as a baby that still had value?
Obi-wan seeing that he was just a little fellow, basking in the light, deserving good things? (āLuminous beings, we areā Yoda had said, and that meant him too.)
Obi-wan coming to realize that he wasnāt just made to suffer for no reason, that there was a destiny in store, and that he didnāt fail?
Obi-wan learning that the little boy he used to be was horribly funny and desperately sad, and that he actually did make the best of every situation?
That once upon a time he had been just a little boy learning how to be a person for the very first time? (Just like Anakin, once upon a time, and Obi-wan had loved that little boy so much.)
Obi-wan understanding that he was the reason Qui-gon had to repair himself, to make himself better? To be the man worthy of teaching this incredible little boy?
What if Obi-wan saw that he was a little boy just as beloved as Anakin?
That he was meant for the crucible in the way that gold ore is? That his life wasnāt meant to destroy him, but to refine him into something splendid? That all the pain would have meant nothing had he not lived the way he chose to?
He canāt talk to the young Obi-wan and tell him it will all be worth it in the end. He canāt help. He canāt change anything. Except he knows now that infinite suffering did indeed bring infinite gain to the galaxy.
He knows that this little boy he once was will suffer, and that the decisions he made were in service to the light. That his life was good. Significant. Worthy.
Obi-wan, long dead now, comes to understand that the weight of the galaxy was not his to bear. That it was not his choices that brought darkness. That he did his best with what he knew and could do at the time.
It was not his failure.
Obi-wan simply (with great difficulty at times) made his choices in service to the light.
Not everyone else did, and thatās on them. Not him.
one star war viewing experience that i think has been totally 100% lost to time / cultural dominance: obi-wan being a mysterious and lowkey dubious figure in a new hope. heās introduced doing this absolutely terrifying screech (which he never does again? before or since?), in a cloak with his face covered (classic villain coding, also very close to the emperorās exact look) and this comes after a build up of him being some āold wizardā luke is told is dead, that he shouldnāt be going to see at allāand his dialogue only raises more questions than answers. a big part of it is alec guinnessā expert ptsd performance, of course, but thereās such a real strangeness to obi-wanās debut. heās a mentor, but heās also a hardened warrior, also a deliverer of some incredibly ominous lines, also a disembodied voice, an undead, unkillable entity. i donāt think it was some accident that the āfake twistā used to hide the real twist in empire was that obi-wan killed lukeās father, is all iām saying really. i think thereās an undercurrent in anh that, as the jedi/obi-wan/star war grew in popular culture and the light side/dark side lore got more ironed out, isnāt really accessible now. but itās fun
Repeat after me:
The Jedi taught emotional control, not repression.
The Jedi took kids with parental consent, they did not kidnap them.
The Jedi did not hold people against their will, they could leave the Order at any time.
The Jedi were not "just as bad" as the Sith.
BEAUTIFUL, THANK YOU
nothing strange happening here folks. just two men headbonking and sharing a breath like cats tend to do. normal gar activities if i ever saw one.
every time i watch the 212th's half assed order 66 attempt i think of that time that in tcw where cody and the rest of the 212th watch obi wan get drop kicked into a steel wall at 90 miles an hour and barely even glance his way cuz he pops right back up and they're like, "nah he's probably fine." and it just makes their, "sir, no one could have survived that fall" SO MUCH FUNNIER because they have SEEN that man survive much worse and they're just like, "well we did our best." like sirs,
loook at them. I love this style, they look so cute I wanna squish their cheeks <3 <3
Happy May the 4th Be With You!
Apparently drawing Codywan for Star Wars day is my new tradition š„°

Sir.
Because this manās soft exterior is a front. A smart one, because it encourages peace and a personality you can talk to. Soft and open, patient and kind.
But threaten those same qualities and he will not show up with any of them.Ā
Enjoy!

These are extremely cool, and they're all Obi-Wan having terrible days.
You can follow the artist onĀ Instagram.
He's just so Gorgeous?????
I usually headcanon Cody to be around this age or a little younger during TCW since the supposed aging speed is around 2x normal, but low 20s is just too young for literally anything we've seen of him
VERY offended to discover how hot Temuera Morrison was around 30yo. Can't stop screencapping every micro-expression so I can yell "oh shit that's Fives!" or the like.
long overdue art for the āheir to an organised crime family pushing his luck for a date with the exhausted and jaded ER nurseā AU
