I was scrolling through the images I downloaded off of Pinterest and I saw a writing prompt related to sleep, so I thought I'd write some fluff (for once) feature my Undertale AU OCs! This takes place after the main story!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Carly came home from work exhausted like she always did. However, tonight, she was even more exhausted from working overtime. She rubbed the sleepiness from her eyes as she went up to her room to change. There, sitting on the bed, typing away on a laptop, was Fennu.
Fennu looked up at Carly and smiled. "Welcome back home, love! Did you have a good day?"
Carly scoffed. "I think we both know the answer to that."
Fennu gently shut the laptop, stood up, and set it on the desk before approaching her lover and giving Carly a warm hug. Carly dropped her bag and reciprocated the hug immediately. Fennu's hugs were almost always warm and comforting, especially when someone needed those hugs the most.
Carly let go after a few minutes and picked her bag back up before hanging it on one of the hooks. She pulled out the hair tie and bobby pins holding her bun in place as her decently long hair flowed down her back. She grabbed her sleep clothes and exited the bedroom to the bathroom to change, leaving Fennu alone in their bedroom.
Fennu knew that Carly must be more tired than usual, especially since she knew that Carly had a habit of overworking herself until she fell asleep at her desk like she had done several times before. Neither she nor Faith, Carly's younger sister, enjoy that fact. Fennu sighed, rubbed her face, and got back into bed, waiting for Carly to return.
Once Carly returned to the bedroom, she immediately walked over to the desk but was abruptly stopped by a shield. She turned her head in annoyance to Fennu, whose hand was in the air, holding the magic.
"Fennu, c'mon, I have some work I need to do," she said, crossing her arms.
"Whatever it is you need to do, I'm sure it can wait until morning," Fennu said, concern in her eyes directed at her girlfriend.
"I can't sleep yet. There's too much to do."
"Uh-huh, and those huge bags under your eyes are normal," Fennu stated glancing at the bags under Carly's orange and green eyes.
Carly rolled her eyes. "I'm fine. I'm not even that tired."
Fennu sighed and stood up, taking her girlfriend's hands. "Look, I know you want to keep working, but you just got home a few minutes ago. The least you can do is relax a bit and lie down for a while. Can you do that for me?"
Carly sighed before closing her eyes and giving Fennu a soft nod. Fennu helped her get comfortable in their bed while also making sure Carly didn't try and get up any time soon. It was so clear that she hadn't gotten a good night's sleep in a while, so she needed this.
"I'll be right back, I'm going to go get you a glass of water, okay?" Fennu asked, tilting her head slightly to the right.
Carly gave Fennu a soft smile and nodded. Fennu could tell that she was extremely tired, just from the way she was acting. So, Fennu went downstairs and poured a glass of water for her lover. She couldn't help but think about the times Error and Sin would do this for her when she refused to get some sleep, making her realize that their habits of helping her had rubbed off on her. She giggled at the thought.
Once the glass was filled with water, Fennu headed back upstairs and opened the bedroom door to find Carly asleep, sitting up in bed still. Fennu smiled softly as she set the glass down on the bedside table by Carly. She gently adjusted Carly to not disturb her and made sure she was tucked in comfortably.
"You're so lucky that I love you," Fennu said softly.
She kissed Carly's cheek, climbed into bed, and wrapped her arm around Carly before drifting off to sleep as well, the two sleeping comfortably in each other's warm embrace.
Hope you guys liked this! Sorry if it's not very good or if it doesn't make sense. If you want to learn more about my AU, I'm writing it over on Wattpad which is linked in my linktree (pinned post). I'll probably have a part in the story where the magic of my AU is explained, but I'm not sure yet. I'm slowly chipping away at finishing up chapter 3, so I hope you guys will enjoy it once it comes out! Thanks for reading!
Okay, I'm on episode 107 of Riptide, which is in the Black Sea Arc and I need to know why nobody told me how stressful this part of the show was going to be. All it's doing is making me have to seriously get a chew tool because I get bitey when I'm stressed. (It's still really good, I just am constantly worrying about everyone's well-being, especially Queen right now because they instantly turned pale upon entering the room with the captain)
So yeah, why did nobody warn me- TwT
End of the Hall // Generation Loss: The Social Experiments.
I yelled at my dad today. I didn't mean to, it's just... those stupid cameras appeared again today and they won't go away and it's freaking me out. so, I yelled for him and he asked me what was wrong.
I told him that there were cameras in all of the corners of my room, because there was! and he looked around and he looked back at me all confused. he said that there weren't any cameras, so I told him again that there were cameras in my room. and he didn't believe me!
he said that I should calm down and take another look around the room, just to make sure what I'm seeing is really there. and I did and those cameras were still there, so I reiterated it to him. and he said rather firmly that there weren't any cameras in my room and that I must be seeing things.
I got so mad at him for saying that that I snapped at him and I yelled at him. I'm pretty sure I was just yelling that there were in fact cameras in my room and I was scared because someone was watching me, but I don't fully remember it. all I remember is that after I was done yelling, he hugged me. which is weird because he's not really a hugger.
he said something about how everything around me was real and that I was safe and I kinda just hugged him back and zoned out. after he left, I double checked all the corners of the room. I thought that maybe he was right and I was just seeing things.
the fucking cameras were still there, pointed directly at me.
watching me.
Wonderlust Episode 17 Spoilers Under Cut!!
I highly recommend you go watch Wonderlust on the JRWI channel and then come back and view this post! If you're already caught up, feel free to continue!
So, I'm re-watching episode 10 and in the beginning, Troy uses the Lougferd Override command to get the Clockwork Soldier to listen to him. There are multiple levels, but it went up to Level 6, so we can assume that each level of the override does something different.
HOWEVER, what I want to know is why the Lougferd Override command didn't work against the Clockwork Soldiers at the University of Dreamers and Doers in episode 17. It hasn't been that long since episode 10 happened from a timeline perspective, so why does the command suddenly not work?
I doubt that his dad was able to change the command so quickly, especially since he, as the Mayor of Earheart, would probably keep the override command the same, for simplicity and so that both he and his son can use the command. It's just so confusing to me that the command suddenly doesn't work for Troy.
But then again, there was only one Clockwork Soldier that Troy took care of in episode 10, as opposed to the large group in episode 17. Maybe there's a different command for a group of soldiers that Troy didn't remember, which would explain why it didn't work.
I dunno, what do you guys think? Maybe I'm overanalyzing this a bit too much, but that's kinda what I do with this show (even though I'm behind on posting it hehe π ). I have too much free time on my hands at the moment, so it could also be that. Or maybe I'm just a nerd, I don't fucking know.
Anyway, that was my two cents, fare thee well!
Help me get my father and mother out and secure their lives
The story of my father and mother who suffered from illness and lived under the wall of a tent
βThe tent was their only shelter. Its winter wall was made of threadbare fabric that did not protect them from the cold or summer heat. Inside, they were lying on a thin mattress, two defeated bodies suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. They woke up every day to the sound of chronic pain and dreams. That relaxes with every breath.
I've been thinking about Helluva Boss's season 2 finale, Sinsmas episode, specifically the scene where Octavia is confronting Stolas and I wanted to give my 2 cents about that scene as someone who also takes medication for depression and has been doing so for a few years ago (featuring some info I remember from Intro to Psych).
Via stated that she was confused about why Stolas needed to have anti-depressants (or happy pills or whatever it's called in the Hellaverse), believing that she was doing something wrong and that's why he was taking them. Now, depression is when your brain struggles to make happy chemicals, specifically serotonin, so people who are diagnosed with depression are often given prescribed medication aka anti-depressants.
You can see on the label of the pill bottles that Via finds in that episode that it's prescribed to Stolas, so it's likely he was diagnosed with depression and he takes anti-depressants to help his brain produce serotonin. And obviously, after Mastermind, he missed several days of dosages, which explains his mental breakdown later in Sinsmas. As someone who has accidentally missed a few days' worth of dosages, mental breakdowns are likely going to happen more frequently because your brain lacks serotonin.
Via being confused about Stolas needing anti-depressants is understandable, especially since he probably wasn't sure how to explain his depression to his 17-year-old daughter, which is partially the reason Via's confronting him because he wasn't being upfront about his mental health. But the hiding of his depression could be because he didn't feel safe enough to talk about it, especially because of Stella. Another reason could be that he didn't want to stress Via out with that information. After all, she would probably try harder to be a better daughter, even though it's not her fault. She's young, she's bound to think that kind of stuff when it comes to one of her parents' mental health.
Now, this isn't a hate post for the episode, I really enjoyed that episode and I'm hyped for Season 3. Like I said, this is just me giving my 2 cents about that scene as someone who is also medicated for depression. I love Stolas and Octavia so much and I can see where both sides are coming from in the confrontation. Both have flawed logistics for doing the things they're doing, which is natural in an argument. So yeah!
Lemme know if you guys have any other thoughts on that scene and if I should talk about anything else related to Helluva Boss as someone who struggles with mental health issues. And don't worry, I am doing fine mentally, so don't ask me how I'm doing, please. Thank you for reading my analysis, which I wrote at 2:30 in the morning lmao. Alright, good night.
