WOO it has been kinda a long since the last time I did one of these
School is RUINING my ideal schedule, and I've been focusing more on Murder Drones, animating, and falling back into the Omori brainrot.
But, without further ado, AvA/M shower thoughts.
I wanted to be one of the first people to post about this, being that this reveals a LOT.
In the actual short that came out today, Reuben got married and had a kid. This short as a whole made me smile, being that Purple was seen with the color group for the first time since AvM 30, and was just silly as a whole. But, I also remembered something from a previous short.
Bob is Always There is a short from a few months ago that theorists such as myself overanalyzed when it came out. It was pretty mysterious, being we didn't really know what had happened off screen and what would happen in the future. Well, does this picture remind you of anything?
That's right, I'm here to say that we can confirm when this short takes place, and that it's not just some fluff.
It's all apart of something bigger.
Alan Becker connected 2 shorts, but made it so it wasn't obvious. Everything after this point in Bob is Always There we can assume will happen at some point in either the main animations or the actual shorts. I'm not going to cover all of it, but I'm really excited to see Purple reappear in the color gang's website.
So, I know I'm a little (very) late to the AvA stuff, but I was rewatching AvM Season 3 for the seven hundredth time and, well, I noticed something and I'm curious to know if it's been discussed before.
AvM Episode 29, Purple's story, specifically, Pink's death.
Her color changes as she dies, or is represented to have died.
It fades to grey.
Now, the question is, can we, or rather should we, use this to infer anything lore-related? Was this just an artistic choice to depict the act of becoming unhealthy/dying, or could this be what actually happens to stick figures that die over a period of time? Are their colors linked to their health?
Let's have a bit of fun with it, and presume that the fading of one's color can happen to a stick figure for health-related reasons, as the scene could imply.
This fading seems to involve loosing the saturation of one's color into grey. Saturation is how vibrant a color is, and the complete lack of saturation is greyscale.
The World-of-Alan reason for Pink's death is that she 'got sick', which is where the health connection of this theory comes from. If she did loose her color as she was dying as the notes depict, that loss of color was likely a result of her failing health rather than any other factors, like age or outside variables. A whole bunch of human body stuff are indicators for good vs poor health, including skin color (jaundice and cyanasis are good examples) so why not a stick's color for them?
What if, when they fully die, they lose all of their original color?
Now, let me propose this…
Who else do we know of who has had their color loose vibrancy?
What if Victim's color has lightened because he's ill?
MAH BOY!!!!!
He's extremely stubborn and aggressive, but very loyal to any sticks he likes and gets protective of them.
Fun fact: he mainly befriends pink sticks because they remind him of his first friend.
Oh look! It’s the sticksfight website, wait there aren’t any sticks? D:
Uhh yeah I’m doing one of these, reblog with any sticksona/stickfigure oc you have and I may draw them here (bonus points if you write something about their personality-)
one oc per person :3 (this’ll be open for like a week or two-)
Adding on to this real quick, Second's "attack mode" (as I call it) is only activated when he feels like his friends are in threatened, right?
Well this fight is probably because Red endangered Second's friends, including himself, by going through the portal. Especially since Second is blaming him in this moment.
Just a nice bit of consistent character writing ^^
I know that everyone and their mother has probably talked about the Lush Caves episode, but I need to add my thoughts or I will explode :)
(this turned out pretty long, so I put it under a cut just to be safe)
This fight has been set up since the end of the Witch episode, where Red basically convinces everyone else to trust Purple, going DIRECTLY against Orange.
Now, Orange had a good point. Every time the CG have gone into strange Nether portals they've ended up on a long traumatizing adventure that Orange has had to rescue them from. Rightfully, he doesn't want to go through that again.
But when Red (and subsequently the rest of the RYGB) don't listen, it causes tension, and sets in motion a time bomb that blew up when those two were stuck in the desert.
(Kudos to Alan and his animation team for getting this all across in a purely visual manner, they did an amazing job!)
They are both hungry and tired, their emotions are threadbare, and it turns into a blame-game.
Orange says that it's Red's fault that they're stuck out here because he went through the portal. If they hadn't, they could have been at home right now!
Red says that at least they had had fun, home was boring.
Orange bites back by saying now he and Red were going to die out here, and they didn't even know where Blue, Yellow and Green were.
Red ignores that and says that it's actually Orange's fault because it was his idea to use the beacons to glitch out of the parkour box.
And Orange snaps.
This is the part during my first watch-through where I was freaking out .
The two best fighters of the CG, in a wonderfully animated fight sequence, BUT THERE'S EMOTIONAL STAKES, and the sun has set.
Do you understand the turmoil I was experiencing.
Anyway this scene is amazing. Red and Orange are only focused on one thing; fighting each other.
It's a little funny sometimes, like when Orange one-shots a creeper, but then you see Orange literally throw more zombies/husks in Red's direction to overwhelm him and you remember that this might have ended in one of them killing the other if they hadn't fallen into the caves.
Because at this point Red has started to try to run away. It's Orange who seems to snap out of it when they stop fighting in the caves.
Maybe the youngest hollow-head has a taste for violence after all.
Anyway, they get a moment of reconciliation/peace before they are approached by alexcrafter28, and then they get their way back home. From here on, they're a team again. However I wish we could hear them speak because I would LOVE to hear the conversations during and after the fight.
they make me emotional your honor
