It pissed me off so much because it revealed that even the utilitarian moral view Kyubey espoused was bullshit. Not only was he lying when he said humanity would eventually get to take part in the galactic community that benefitted from this power extraction, or at least it didn't matter whether that was true, but it also showed that he didn't care about having a permanent solution to entropy. No matter how much energy he got, if there was a "quota" you could be satisfied with meeting even if it destroyed your means of production, then you were never concerned with a truly perpetual solution, and the only reason to even be bothered by entropy in the first place is if you want something to last for literal eternity!
That alternate timeline where Madoka becomes a witch and Kyubey goes “Looks like she’s gonna destroy the entire planet… oh well that’s not my problem” is both hilarious and chilling to me
I mean, how did she even experience that? Because theoretically she should've lived through a whole lifetime in which Madoka didn't exist and Homura never met her. Madoka didn't just alter the last month and a half, she altered ALL time. But Homura was so experienced with time travel (or so in love) that she couldn't forget. So did she just live a whole life with these memories, that she knows can't be real, of saving this girl Madoka who doesn't exist over and over again, as well as inexplicable timestop powers? Or was the Homura we all know just dropped into the new timeline with with all her memories, hopefully not erasing that timeline's Homura, but instead gaining her memories of a life without Madoka in a world without witches.
Wraith arc must've explained all of this I guess, but I've never read it.
Okay but like what do you think Homura was thinking on the day after Madoka became a concept? What did she do on the day she realized her mission was over?
Saw people talking about this on Twitter, apparently the new promo art for the Art of Amphibia book has a little message reading "A Strange Voyage is Coming" 👀 graphic novel WHEN
Was really tempted to try and make an Amphibia ttrpg once, and these would indeed have been the core stats, and this is indeed how they'd be distributed in the main characters.
I love Chaggie. Some people find they're relationship boring or plain. They say they don't feel anything at all from Chaggie. They're not boring at all to me! To me they're very spicy and exciting. But me, personally, I have some religious trauma, and I know that's coloring the way I see Chaggie. I have a hypothesis. I think maybe Chaggie matches the fantasies of a lot of people with religious trauma, but doesn't speak to people without religious trauma at all, so they can't enjoy it. Let's see if there's a correlation. Don't hate me if I'm dead wrong! I'm making the poll because I'm uncertain.
Happy Anniversary to Catra and Adora! I don't have any art or fanfic or interesting thoughts to share, but I just feel like I need to post something for such a momentous occasion as the Catradora Kiss-versary before the day is out! Crazy that was four years ago. Here's to the kiss that saved the universe!
I think another part of the problem is that watching Madoka Magical kind of puts you in exposition mode. Let's be honest, some new part of the actual mechanics of how magical girls work is explained nearly every episode, so I can't blame portions of the audience too much for thinking that's what was happening when Kyoko told her story. You're always anticipating being told some new fact about how this twisted system works, though the fact that Sayaka didn't believe her maybe should've been a giveaway that this was different.
do you know what it is, i feel like it's a misunderstanding of why sayaka's and kyoko's wishes turned out poorly. kyoko's fucking self rationalization of the world needing to be balanced and her stuff about fucking never making wishes for other people is eaten up by so much of the audience without second thought and its insane to me maybe it's because not everyone has read different story but the reason kyoko's wish "goes bad" has nothing to do with the child who made it wanting to help her family and entirely to do with the fact that her father is a piece of shit like come on. yeah let's take the traumatised 15 year old completely on her word when she says it's her fault that her dad fucking murdered her family because we are incapable of reading between the lines
Depending on how the afterlife does work, tis possible this also means there's a version of 13-year-old Anne in the afterlife watching a copy live the life she would've lived if she got to back. She's aware of another her that gets to reunite with her friends and family while she's trapped apart from them, gets to grow up while she's 13 forever. And because of that copy no one misses the her that's watching. If Anne becomes a god when she dies while Sasha and Marcy just don't, that Anne might be the only one waiting for them in the next world. 🙃
Anne needing to be "copied" or revived to become God implies that she needs to be alive in order for her ascent to happen. She can't die and then ascend. The afterlife and Domino 3's realm are different places. Also implies Domino 3 can't just pluck a soul from the afterlife, they need to catch it live. Which means Anne won't just die at age 91 and become God, but she'll be offered the choice to ascend probably when she's on her last breath and will need to accept before she actually dies or it'll be too late.
More Owl House has finally come out so I've finally made a comic again!
I didn't love the ways the last ones looked, so I tried to sylize this a bit more in hopes of making something that looked like a successful attempt at whatever style it was going for.
Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.
26 year old obsessed with children's cartoons. Maybe some day I'll make comics and/or animations consistently
