When piles and piles of people are apathetic when it comes to the genocide unfolding in Gaza, be the source of relief, hope, and support for the stranded helpless besieged people there. Astonishingly, our life in Gaza turned upside down in an instant?! We woke up one day to realize that a massive-scale war was to be launched against more than 2 million people in Gaza. My Facebook timeline was filled with countless posts in which Gazans publicly asked for forgiveness before their expected imminent mass murder. Can you imagine what it feels like reading all these scary posts and wondering if you should say a final 'Goodbye'?!
Then, Gazans ventured on their own version of Via Dolorosa (Way of Suffering) which included multiple forced displacements, acute life-threatening shortages of water and food, lost jobs, humiliation, mass destruction, injuries, and murder.
It is beyond shocking and sickening how desensitized our world has become to see all the horrifying images of children's body parts scattered everywhere and not lift a finger to stop this ruthless and inhumane genocide. I can say with all certitude on behalf of my people in Gaza that we have lost hope in all the vile desensitized regimes and politicians of the world.
However, we still have strong faith in the lovers and supporters of our just cause who never cease to shower us with their heartwarming words of support and uplifting wishes. Our belief in your humanity and support for our just cause drives us to ask you for help in this worst crisis in our history since the Nakba.
Could you link some of your threads discussing and analyzing Garou’s character as a whole or analyzing strong scenes that emphasize his character?
Many of them nowadays are either chapter-specific observations and commentaries, or anon-prompted meta discussions, but let's see if I can list some of the major/overarching ones I’ve written over the years (some might be pretty old too):
Why does Garou have no confidence?
The Shed Scene in-depth: on his semblance of choice and on whose version of ‘justice’ prevails + bonus anime commentary + bonus vs Darkshine callback
More in-depth thoughts about Wolf Boy - a binding mindset stemming from his childhood
To Stand and Be Strong - on his grueling personal mantra that compels him to keep fighting
The Will to Power - heavy theory centric; where Garou’s arc shows us the way (of what not to do)
Garou’s compassionate side & empathetic capacity as a telling mark of his humanity
The WCScene™ - on the ending mistranslation and Tareo’s importance
All his direct arc parallels he shares with other heroic characters, including The Dual Disciples’ Lament (with Genos) + bonus comedic irony with King
How gracefully he carries himself - aka Murata’s art appreciation
My personal favorite positive aspects and manga moments
Other specific character traits: he’s no coward, he’s a tsundere, he’s an introvert (bonus mbti analysis), he’s ‘pure of heart,’ he also likes misunderstood ‘cool’ animals
On more of the negatives/controversial traits:
Critiquing his character flaws
On ‘non-heroic’ behaviors that Garou doesn’t like - bonus: on Mumen, on Blue Fire, on Metal Bat
When he encounters real monsters he finds them disgusting
On his internalized self-worth issues dehumanizing himself
His habit to throw his opponents’ own words back at them
On whether he’s a ‘hypocrite’ vs his struggles in cognitive dissonance
On his common fanon + bad faith mischaracterizations (1, 2, 3)
His tv tropes and classification as an Anti-Hero (by ONE himself)
More Garou vs Saitama relevant food for thought discussions: their introspective identity parallels on learning what they lack, my warning on Saitama’s approach, their opposing light & dark symbolism, webcomic Garou’s post-arc speculation
For fun: commentary on Ova4 Games & Rivals (Garou vs Suiryu, set before their wc meeting), the manga’s character introduction pages reflecting Garou’s growing story prominence, and his photoset compilations (because why not~)
Fire Emblem gets given a dirty hand in Tiger and Bunny. She doesn't seem to mind being misgendered so I suspect her pronouns are she/he, however she gets that typical homophobic anime treatment where her being queer (or a flamboyant gay man, as depicted in the series) has her sexually harassing other characters and it feels so frustrating to see.
My response to this isn't to shun Nathan, instead I decided pretty early on that she was my favourite Hero, and I think the movie that features her accepting her past is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT and beautiful. I will love even bad depictions of us, because sometimes that's all we have.
I remember what was done to Grell in the anime of Kuroshitsuji, and I still adore Grell to this day.
note: I love both of these anime dearly AND feel comfortable voicing my criticisms of them without needing to throw the whole thing out, because I have a functioning brain.

To evacuate my family from Gaza

Hello this is a legitimate fundraiser!
Ahmad and his family need your help to evacuate Gaza. He has a wife and 4 children trying to shelter amid the rubble. And his father is severely injured with no available means of treating him.
Unfortunately this is not the first time the Al-Zaeem family has lost their home and belongings. As their home fell to Israeli airstrikes in 2021 as well. And in 2023 and now with the invasion into Rafah, they've lost their shelter again.
Their GoFundMe is only at $332 CAD out of $50,000 CAD. Please donate if you can and if you can't please share this!
one of the big concepts I learned in therapy that has been fucking revolutionary for me is the concept that sometimes u can just feel feelings and they don’t have to mean anything.
like, I can just be sad about something for a little while because it feels cathartic and helpful to let myself be sad, and it doesnt have to mean anything or change how I act or treat people.
like sometimes u just need to feel an emotion in order to process and work through things, and sometimes it just feels good to let urself be sad about a silly or little thing. and then once its out its over, uve experienced it and now it is done so u can move on.
and I dont have to derive greater meaning from it or do anything about it. i was just sad for a few hours and now i feel better and that’s all that matters.
