I know a lot of people talk about the “ugliness” of 8th house synastry so I’m here to offer some of the lighter things I’ve noticed regarding this. I know several people who are in healthy, strong 8th house synastry relationships. My grandparents were together 50+ years, my grandfather’s Sun/Moon/Venus/Mercury were all in my grandmother’s 8th house.

- Can be profoundly deep and a soul-binding type of love.

- Many couples I know who have been together 20+ years have someone’s Sun and Mercury in the other’s 8th.

- That “I would die for you and kill for you.” type of love.

- Couples with this may sometimes have separation anxiety from each other.

- I’ve noticed there can be a telepathic/unspoken communication between the two.

- The sex can feel like a merging of two souls and like they’re bound together.

- Sometimes it feels like you know each other from somewhere.

- If there is a significant age gap, the older partner will want to deeply nurture the younger one. They might help them heal any deep emotional wounds.

- If both partners have Pluto influences in the natal, this relationship will likely lead to marriage quickly.

- Love exploring the mysterious, odd, and dark parts of life together.

- These relationships, with mature partners, can lead to both individuals becoming the best versions of themselves.

- I’ve found this can cause one of the partners dying of a broken heart if the other passes away. Four couples I know that died hours apart had a lot of 8th House Overlays.

- Couples living together might have dark home interiors. Dark couches, wood or other furniture combined with soft light.

- Unconditional love and understanding for each other. This can feel like a “you’re my lover but my best friend” relationship.

- In my opinion, Morticia and Gomez Addams are the perfect example of what a healthy 8th House relationship looks like between two mature, accepting adults. Their relationship mirrors nearly exact to my grandparents who were married for 50+ years.

•Sun in the 8th house overlay = the sun person sees right through the house person, it's scary. This connection is not flaky. It's a deeply rooted connection.

The Sun person will want to dig deep into your soul in every possible way and the sex is intense as you both reveal parts of yourselves to eachother that you keep hidden from the world. The House person feels like a vampire exposed to the light in this connection, burning their soul in ways they never imagined they could burn.

The House person will be afraid of opening up to the sun person at the beginning but gradually the house person is given a place of ease and comfort by the sun person and this turns into a deep connection.

Moon ☌ Pluto

Moon 8th house overlay

•I feel like to some extent Moon ☌ Pluto manifests just as similar to the Moon in the 8th house overlay. Plutos intensity isn't just left behind by him in his house. He carries that intensity with him. He IS that intensity. So that's why the depth of this connection is so very deep and raw.

There's nothing they both would not do to keep eachother close. Definitely possessive of eachother. This also becomes a connection that is most likely to last forever. This also becomes a connection where you understand eachother on a soul level, feeling eachother from miles away, speaking to eachother without having to use verbal communication.

Your souls speak to eachother. Your souls cannot untangle once you've both gotten close. You both nurture eachothers wounds and feel eachother pain. You often read eachothers eyes without having to say anything at all. Along with this usually comes a LOT of challenges to test whether the connection wavers or stands the test of time.

It is normal that there will be massive turbulences in this connection that keeps this connection on the edge till you both pass the tests put forward. Usually, this connection does stand the test of time depending upon other placements and aspects as well. Best saying to describe this aspect is "They are the proof that 'Forever' exists".

I have heard before that when Moon sits in the 8th house overlay, there is a touch of secrecy in the connection, not between the two but one of them or the both of them needing to keep the connection a secret like meeting eachother privately where no one can see them. This can even happen with strong 8th house overlays added on with this moon-pluto conjunction.

This aspect and/or placement works best when both the individuals have heavy intense placements in their natal charts like 8th house, 12th house, Scorpio, and/or pisces placements. When this is not the case,one or both the individuals cannot handle the intensity and uncomfortable depth of this connection and are stuck in Denial or running away from one another or chasing the other as well.

A real Example: I have heavy 8th house overlay with (I'll keep him as) Person A where his Sun, Mars, Venus,Jupiter are all in my 8th house and his Moon is conjunct my Pluto. I have been meeting him in secret and am still meeting him in secret because of my mom and maybe I can even say my family overall.

I think you’re in an energy of waiting and surveying your surroundings... Like when someone’s wounded and retreats to regroup and tend to themselves. Main themes relate to boundaries, relationships and self care. You’re trying to find allies but I think it’s a little bit hard right now. Very analytical mind, trying to determine what stays and what goes. Things are definitely shifting and you’re just kind of keeping to yourself. Communication is such a big thing for you here. I feel like you’re really just on the sidelines taking things slow. You want to ally with others but you need to tend to yourself first or at least that’s your focus right now. I feel like you need to be in an energy where, yes you’re surveying/assessing your surroundings, but you have to get up and do so instead of sitting around. You need to take action and expand your horizons. Be bold and go for it... I think you’ve got what you need. The consistent message is that doing nothing is not an option. Take a chance on what will fulfill your desires. Accepting endings is important and being able to move on. Allow yourself to transition to a fresh start.

Consider your image and how you show up as/interact with authority. Leadership. Especially emotional leadership. Parenting oneself and/or setting the example for how you want others to treat you. Create a safe home ‘base’ (internal or external) but don’t get stuck in it. Maybe ask yourself what creates home? Makes you feel safe/secure? You also could need to take a look at sibling relationships or any with a sibling like dynamic and factor in how you those affect how you show up is important to look at too. I think this could relate to blocks. But you need to place your roots first and then explore.

Trust yourself and make a move. Focus on your strengths and believe that you have gathered enough data to move forward. Structure and strategy are going to be your friends. Honor those ‘above’ you but hold onto your power. Set boundaries and hold other accountable (and yourself too).

Ah Death. You see, with Ace of Wands in reverse, I think this mostly emphasizes the Death card. Instead of moving on and embracing the fun and exciting parts of life, you are more like someone who roots yourself deep in the shadows and faces what needs to be faced and lets it transform you. Imagine a group situation where the rest of the group wants to move on, this is someone who refuses to move because there’s something important left to do that everyone is ignoring.

It’s your ability to talk and sit in things that people usually avoid; the taboo, the shame, the pain, the ugly, the dark sides, etc. You may be comfortable dealing with these things, you are also able to dive deep into them, to dissect them, to analyze them and lay them open one by one in front of people. This quality can bring you fame, because not everyone can do it as deep and thoroughly as you can and not everyone dares to take the risk of getting their hands dirty. People don't want to ruin their social image, but you may not care much about that. This pile gives off more of a lone-wolf vibe to be honest.

If Pile 3 should focus on the good sides and connect with people from that place, you probably should focus on highlighting the elephant in the room, the thing people need to address in order to heal and move on, something that may trigger opposition from people. Sorry guys but your path to fame is a bit more challenging than the other piles lol, because your cards are talking about going against people here and possibly triggering them as well.

Again, the path/message that you can focus on to get you fame has something with healing, changing perspectives, processing pain, addressing the difficult things, etc. With The Hermit in reverse being explained by Ace of Pentacles; you need to show it to the world, don’t just keep all the thoughts and opinions to yourself. You can especially be influential in small targeted communities; communities that fit the theme of your message. It could be about questioning tradition that causes generational trauma, it could be about processing grief, it could be about sex and taboo.

For example, let’s say you want to highlight the prevalence of sexual assault, you may have more influence if you connect with people who have experienced that and to talk in a small group about hard things that people normally don’t talk about. It gives off that vibe. You can be a solo ranger who meets different people with similar stories. Something small and tight-knit but impactful in its own way. It shouldn’t be done for the sake of being controversial though, it should be something that contributes to individuals’ lives in a meaningful way. The key is, you may have to address where it hurts the most, be frank, question and challenge things instead of skirting around the issue. This takes a lot of guts to do.
