People who belong to an unknown Before Steps that must have echoed each other Shoulders you must have held

Smiles that you must have shared Fingers that you must have intertwined Eyes that must have met (even if just for a moment)

But your heart should not feel so drawn to a stranger And that connection feels oddly, painfully nostalgic.

Sometimes you catch glimpses of familiar faces

I think Jason can be very spiteful, especially towards people he knows hurt you; You may have forgiven them, but Jason hasn't. Even if they are your parents, I don't think I would forbid you from seeing them, but I wouldn't really want to spend time with them if I found out you had a bad childhood because of them. A little self-indulgent because I recently argued with my parents, my dad threatens to kill himself if I don't do what he wants, I just wanted to leave and be comforted by Jason 🏃‍♀️

but yeah my parents have been shitty so ive actually been thinking about this a lot.

"I'm just nervous they're gonna try and pull some bullshit," you sighed, tugging on your shoes. You were about to leave to meet up with your family for a birthday. An entire side of your family. It was about to be a very long day.

"Don't worry. You won't be going alone," Jason spoke up from where he was leaning against the wall, watching you.

That caught your attention. "What? What do you mean?"

"I'm going with you." He said it like it was obvious, like it was a fact that he would end up going. He saw the look on your face and continued, "You've been anxious about this for days. Like hell I'm letting you do this alone."

"Is that why you're dressed up?"

He rose an eyebrow. "I'm literally in a leather jacket and a shirt. I am not 'dressed up'."

You smiled. "That's your 'fancy' leather jacket, and we need to leave."

He stepped out and grabbed the keys for his motorcycle from the bedroom.

"Wait. Why are we taking the motorcycle?"

"Because you don’t say anything about a a girl when her 6'2" boyfriend rides in on a motorcycle, is covered in tattoos, and looks like they can benchpress a tree. By the way, I can bench more than that. Anyway, I'll take the attention off you. They'll focus their aggression at me by the end of the night, don’t you worry."

You smile.
