Remember 4 months ago when the CEO of this platform harassed and chased a trans woman off this website just for posting her transition timeline, then chased her to other social media platforms to continue harassing her, and threatened to call the FBI if she continued disputing the multiple dubious terminations of her blogs that did not violate tumblr's terms of service in any way? And despite tumblr staff insisting that the CEO was acting against their interests, the broad transmisogyny evident in the site's culture and moderation policy has still not been adequately addressed?

I bring a sort of "can't read social cues" vibe to every social situation that I can't tell if anyone likes or not

It's frustrating that so many people buy pet inverts without doing any kind of research about their care beforehand and they end up with a totally inappropriate habitat, diet, and/or general care.

Bugs are animals! If you're going to keep them, please learn about them from multiple sources before buying them. Reddit subs are an especially good source. Avoid pet store care sheets, as they are often deeply wrong.

Also depending on the species, initial setup can cost quite a bit, relatively speaking! If you can't afford an appropriate habitat, then you can't afford to keep the animal as a pet. It's not okay to give them an inappropriate or bare-bones setup because that's all you can afford. Save up and do it right from the get-go.

There's a lot of bad information out there on invert and exotic care, and we're always learning more. It's okay if you did do research, but you were given bad advice. Just be open to new and better information and make the necessary changes.

Happy pride, my only goal this month is to not let you forget for a fucking second that this website is transphobic and horrible down to its core. Don’t give them money, make an absolute stink about the fact that their CEO personally permabanned a trans woman, leaked all her sideblogs, then chased her to Twitter to pursue a personal vendetta. Remember that this is not a safe place for the queer community, and that has nothing to do with us, the queer members of the userbase, and everything to do with the continuing actions of Tumblr’s staff.
