Another song that stumps me is WEFIL, i don't have any idea who this is for but Taylor did say she wrote it for her best friend. However this line had me thinking
Taylor was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, but she grew up in Wyomissing and those are not big towns/cities. and probably the most telling is Cleopatra who has been maligned by history by reducing her to "Julius' lover" or the "queen whore" when she was a woman of formidable intelligence, a cunning strategist, and called "the queen of kings" and it suits how Taylor has been reduced to a "boy crazy" girl and slut-shamed despite her achievements.
these parallel lines seem to say that Emma =good boys to good/bad guys to good = I
and of course this line from Gold Rush
I = call you out = She/Emma
let's not forget how she called herself New York City
False God - I'm New York City
WEFIL - She's so New York
I'm = New York = She/Emma
but could also be metaphorical when we think that NY is where “you can want who you want. Boys and boys and girls and girls” and felt more like not belonging.
we all know which show this was
And all these lyric parallels on how she/they boarded up their windows etc to protect their privacy and her saying that she fiercely protects her privacy now.
Although I am not sure who I is here and whose POV she's talking from but it seems like she's saying she is Emma and just describing herself and how intensely she falls in love.
Taylor really went:
“Wonder if you regret the secret of us?”
And proceeded to have her team slowly unveil a decade old lesbian drama
Starting the surprise songs on tour with mirrorball and ending it with The Manuscript. Opening every night of the tour with a speech about how the songs aren’t about her life anymore and instead about the fans. An entire tour where she gave everything she had to the fans. Truly a mirrorball on full display. Even added a whole new section to the tour part of the way through that includes a meta song that is about performing while she’s shattered in a million pieces. Performance art.
Tour of the century indeed. And using Mirrorball as the song to encapsulate it was truly a great choice. This was for the fans through and through.
Bonus:
Karlie Kloss has been featured on the cover of Vogue (US and International) over 50 times throughout her iconic career in fashion, making her one of the top 50 models in history to achieve such a feat! She made her first appearance on a Vogue cover in 2009 at the age of 17, and has since cemented herself as one of this generation’s top models.
TN is sending happy bday to those who celebrate.
You should take her to Big Sur 😭
#kaylor
karlie specifically placing & tilting the 🇬🇧❤️ to be right next to the T on her story is so intentional 😭
hahaha i didn’t notice that
No seriously, she literally is singing “lately she’s been dressing for revenge” like how much fucking louder does she have to be?!
Also I don’t know who said it on here but in my head she’s saying “picture me fingers deep in your ex wife” instead of “picture me thick as thieves with your ex wife” because literally there is nothing more badass revenge wise than fucking the ex wife of one of the men who controlled and manipulated her during her career.
The way she deepened her voice when she sang “your ex wife” and then goes on to have a high pitch ending when she sings “and she looks so pretty” like hello?! Her winking to the mostly female fan base after she drags her fucking hand down her body while making the hottest fucking face. Like I’m sorry but you can’t convince me that Taylor Swift is straight. This is fucking gay as hell and there is no straight explanation for it.
Just a couple of gals wearing matching watches (for multiple months now) and pinky rings, released on the same day.
Nothing to see here.
