I feel so awful for all the young girls being forced into religion and forced to wear a hijab. imagine being born and being told your whole life that you must cover yourself, must hide your body, because your body is inherently sexual - you are inherently sexual and must be hidden just because you were born a girl.
I really believe there's some sort of "emperor's new clothes" phenomenon happening with Gen Z discoursers where they're too afraid to question the logic of some of the discourse being thrown at them for fear of appearing to be unwoke so they just blindly parrot it not to be excluded by their peers
TRAs loveee to say that women getting boob jobs, laser hair removal, botox, filler, etc. and men getting gynecomastia surgery or hair transplants are all “gender affirming care” but every single one of those things is solely intended to help a person fit more neatly into gendered beauty standards and I just don’t understand how they don’t see that they’re fully telling on themselves. Like it’s one of the most blatant examples of their core belief that gender=superficial stereotypes and that their ideology is entirely based on reinforcing binary gender norms.
it's always "listen to [identity group] voices!" until its detransitioners' voices.
they don't want to hear them, because their stories gaining mainstream traction would upend their whole movement.
of all 'feminine' things to pick out and feel weird about, its painting your nails and plucking your eyebrows this person points out? really? even women who are super feminine dont do that shit on a regular basis. i cant imagine smoking that gender ideology pack so hard that you reach this point.

nonbinaries and they/thems who are female and were raised as girls do tend to have the weirdest complexes. they're always like "i hate pink so i must not be a girl" or "i hate painting my nails so i must not be a girl" are you dumb. like genuinely, are you stupid. i went through a phase of 'i wish i was a boy' but it absolutely had nothing to do with superficial things like nail painting and everything to do with "menstruating is kind of scary at first" and "oh shit i really could become pregnant" ..... i feel like almost every woman has gone thru that.
even the straightest men paint their nails now. i feel like its never been more normal for women to go out barefaced, in baggy jeans, and still be....women. so. youre going to have to find some other thing to channel your internalized misogyny through, babes.
a woman is whoever wants to be one
lesbians have to unlearn their distaste for dick
womb renting is ok
being a mother and having children is gross though
trans women invented feminism and we owe everything to them
all such disgusting propaganda.
the thing that made me see the light re. gender ideology/trans rights movement was the whole “a woman is anyone who says they’re a woman” thing
because it doesn’t make sense. there’s no universe in which is makes sense. youre not asked to just not define something in any other arena but this issue. i just imagined if we were asked to view other things in the world this way. it’s crazy. things have to have definitions.
but these people do have a definition, even if they won’t say it. they think a woman is just someone who wears skirts and makeup. that’s why they think a woman is anyone who wants to be one. 5 year olds have a better understanding of reality.
it’s all just good old fashioned misogyny. by this logic, if a woman doesn’t wear makeup or present super feminine does that make them a man? you ask questions and all of a sudden it’s [insert sputtering TRA word salad here]
it really is just a worship of the binary. masquerading as something revolutionary. and people are frothing at the mouth to defend it. acting like it’s a human rights issue. the biggest fucking con ever.
hmm. one of these categories of people is not like the others.
also funny that the category of women isn't mentioned.
a critique of radfems i always see on here is “oh they’re just so obsessed with biology, oh they’re just so obsessed with their period and stuff, they reduce women to their biology, ew”
which i haven’t seen that in that reductive way , and well. can you blame em for being “obsessed” with biology? in a world where women are oppressed based on biology? where our biological functions are seen as gross and bedeviled and shit?!
so uh yeah maybe we should have a little more celebration of our biology.
running from observable reality gets you nowhere.
