Magickal Properties of: Rose

Magickal Properties Of: Rose

Scientific Names:

There are over 300 species of roses, with more than 1000 cultivars. Roses are believed to have first been cultivated in China, historically dating back to 5000 years. The following seem to be the most common varieties that are sold as oils or marketed for magickal use. However, this is only speculation and may not be entirely accurate.

Rosa Gallica - Also known as the French Rose or Apothecary Rose, it is native to southern and central Europe. It is believed that this rose variety was first cultivated by the Greek’s and Romans.

Rosa Centifolia - This type of rose is also sometimes called the Cabbage Rose.

Rosa Damascena - Also known as the Damask Rose or Rose of Castile.

Most Rose oil is derived from the Rosa Centifolia and Damascena varieties. Although they differ a bit in color and fragrance, they share similar properties and uses. Rose oil is also quite expensive. For magickal purposes, it is more economical to use fresh roses or dried rose petals.

Correspondences

Energetic: Receptive

Element: Water

Astrological: Venus, Taurus

Deities: Isis, Hathor, Aphrodite, Demeter, Eros, Hulda, Aurora

Symbolism for Divination or Spell Associations: Love, Fertility, Romance, Protection, Beauty, Luck, Joy, Emotions

Uses

Use in sachets, spell bottles, teas, incense blends, anointing oils, to dress a candle, in a bath.

Use in spells for healing, love, peace, protection, beauty, to avoid conflict, to calm stress and to resolve problems peacefully.

Rose is one of the most versatile plants. Rose petals can be incorporated into any spell, ritual or meditation to enhance its effects. Rose is particularly potent in workings that focus on protection because roses protect in the energetic vibration of love and compassion. Roses have a fierce, yet gentle energy.

A single rose placed inside a glass of water on an altar can be used as a singular, but powerful focus for a spell.

Use rose petals in a bath to encourage beauty, healing and to attract love.

Carry rose petals in a sachet for protection.

Sprinkle rose petals in the home or around a space to resolve conflict and calm upheavals.

Roses planted in a garden are said to attract faeries.

Rose petals blended into a tea can induce prophetic dreams and assist with divination.

Use rose thorns to carve sigils into candles to enhance the spell.

Notes

If you are going to drink rose as a tea, or burn it as an incense, be sure to research thoroughly and buy your roses at food grade quality from a reputable source. Not all roses are grown for consumption and may have been exposed to dangerous pesticides and/or chemicals to help preserve them once cut. If you ingest roses that have been treated with chemicals, they may irritate the digestive tract.

Rose water is very good for the skin.

Roses also carry correspondences with spiritual enlightenment in some sacred traditions.

ā™‹ļøŽ Cancer in the Houses Keywords

Cancer, represented by the Crab, is the 4th sign of the Zodiac and is commonly associated with a hard outer exterior & deep inner emotions. This energy can express itself through shyness or appearing aloof/unaware, as well as side stepping issues and looking at things from a different, more deeply felt perspective. In the natal chart, the house were Cancer shows up gives insight to what area of life there may be emotional challenges and a need for security/stability.

My interpretations are based on commonly known associations in traditional and modern astrology, as well as my personal experiences.

1H: lookin JUST like your momma, face tells all emotions, prominent chests/stomachs, may be shy, ā€œhard to crackā€

2H: family heirlooms, potential to hoard, side hustles, silver jewelry, changes occupations/multiple streams of income

3H: history buffs, loyal friends, station-wagons & SUVs, domestic adventures, shy with strangers/outsiders

4H: close to maternal side of family, family over everything, deep ancestral connections, home is where the heart is

5H: boobs (loving them or ppl loving yours), emotional/sore losers, nurturing parents, overprotective, creative spirits

6H: hidden/internal issues involving work & health, dedicated to their craft, potential to grow, attempting to keep appearances

7H:Ā  protective romantic partners, keep business affairs close to the chest, responsive and nurturing, harsh when slighted

8H: may shy away from the taboo, may appear conservative, intuitive & perceptive, experience transformation through breaking down sentimental wallsĀ

9H: history majors, living/putting down roots abroad, unwavering outlook on life, challenging family norms thru pursuing higher education

10H: success in culinary arts/hospitality, securing a future for descendants, caring paternal figures in life, ā€œtough loveā€

11H: the ā€œmom friendā€, will make sure you’re fed & comfy, great hosts, aspire to make everything just feel better

12H: may feel they lack nurturing instinct, difficulties with coping/self-soothing, inner child issues, need creative outlets to break through negative cycles

Hey im wondering what signs or aspects would make one more susceptible to feeling certain emotions when listening to music?

In general, I believe anyone/any sign can feel triggered [positively or negatively] by music. It is, after all, the ā€˜great communicator’. However, in regard to ā€œemotionā€ hitting the hardest, you’re going to want to look for...

1. Water Dominant Charts

Water doms are susceptible to feeling many emotions in general. When music which is ruled by Neptune gets thrown in the mix people with...

Pisces Suns

Pisces moons

Pisces Mercury

Pisces Venus

Pisces Mars

Pisces Jupiter

Neptune in the 1st

Neptune in the 2nd

Neptune in the 4th

Neptune in the 3rd

Neptune in the 8th

Neptune in the 12

Scorpio Suns

Scorpio moons

Scorpio Mercurys

Scorpio Mars’

Scorpio Jupiters

Scorpio Risings

Pluto in the 1st

Pluto in the 2nd

Pluto in the 3rd

Plut in the 4th

Pluto in the 8th

PlutoĀ  in the 9th

Pluto in the 12th

Cancerian Suns

Cancer Moon

Cancer Mercury’s

Cancer Venus’

Cancer Mars’

Cancer Jupiter’s

Cancer Rising

Moon in the 2nd [Tauean house rules theĀ ā€˜throat’]

Moon in the 3rd [rules communication]

Moon in the 4th [water house]

Moon in the 8th

Moon in the 9th

Moon in the 12th

[look for flowing and hard aspects between all of these placements]

2. Taurean/Venus Placements

Since Taurus rules creativity and artistry, people with strong placements here will often have a very solid and earthly attachment to music. Taurus also rules the second house that rules theĀ ā€œvoice/throatā€.Ā  This includes Conjunctions, trines, sextiles.

Taurus Sun

Taurus Moon

Taurus Mercury

Taurus Venus

Taurus Jupiter

Taurus Rising

Taurus 2nd house

Taurus 3rd House

Taurus 12th House

Venus in the 1st

Venus in the 2nd

Venus in the 4th

Venus in the 3rd

Venus in the 8th

Venus in the 12th

3. Mercury Placements

Mercury Rules communication and people with dominant Mercury, which rules by the mind happen to be very gifted with music. Remember, I’ve mentioned before that music is a science. Why? Because it can be measured.Ā Emotion is felt in the belly but the chemicals that trigger what we feel start in the brain first. The brain is ruled by Mercury most immediately since Mercury rules theĀ ā€œlower mindā€. Look for:

Mercury in the 1st

Mercury in the 2nd

Mercury in the 3rd

Mercury in the 4th

Mercury in the 7th

Mercury in the 8th

Mercury in the 9th

Mercury in the 12th

Virgo placements strongly in any of these houses as well as Gemini Placements.

4. Jupiter

Jupiter rules the higher mind and philosophy. Music takes almost all of us there. Jupiter is a very psychic planet and music/sound travels on wavelengths that blend with higher forms of thought and thinking. This is exactly why meditation is usually paired with music and why they’re usually based at about 4-7 Hz theta waves. Look for natives with:

Jupiter in the 1st

Jupiter in the 2nd

Jupiter in the 3rd

Jupiter in the 4th

Jupiter in the 8th

Jupiter in the 9th

Jupiter in the 12th

Sag placements in any of these houses conjuncting, trining, or sextiling [hard placements like squares and opps are also to be considered.] Jupiter as the most elevated may also be susceptible as well.

The Degree Theory + My Take on it

Hello guys! I’ve received a lot of questions in regards to the degree theory, and I decided that I should make a post about it. So I’m going to give the basis of the degree theory (note: this is based on research not what I believe) and then I’m going to give my opinions on it based from my own observations.Ā

TW: Ab*se, s*x, su*cide, m*rder, mentions of d*ath.Ā

*** If you get paranoid easily, be careful reading this because it discusses some Ā dark stuff. Remember, these aren’t the be all end all. In the end, we all determine our fate! ***

So first let’s take a look at what each degree symbolizes!Ā

šŸ’‹Ā DegreesĀ šŸ’‹

Aries degrees- 1°, 13°, 25°: taking action and control over your life, ab*se, struggles, leadership, battle, beginning, struggling, ā€œfastā€, the color red, sports/athletes, the police, and bravery.Ā

Taurus degrees- 2°, 14°, 26°: wealth, the voice, singing, money, the color green, luxuries, the earth.Ā ā€œThe best or top level of somethingā€.Ā

Gemini degrees- 3°, 15°, 27°:Ā ā€œtwoā€, double, siblings, hands, neighborhood, friends, birds, tea, geometric patterns, documents, communication, electronic devices, books, self-expression, and the color yellow.Ā

Cancer degrees- 4°, 16°, 28°: mother, home, traditions, loyalty, nurture, crowd, public, water, faith, femininity, emotions, family, the color white and property.

Leo degrees- 5°, 17°, 29°: strong, bold, royal, leader, attention, life, high school, fun, athletes, creativity, self-expression, strength, gym, mountain, the hill, hair.

Virgo degrees- 6°, 18°: Health, sickness, hospitals, doctors, routines, pets, to make smaller, diminish, work, and to be of service.

Libra degrees- 7°, 19°: fairness, law, business, partnerships, beauty, earrings, fashion, charm, music, art, marriage, courtroom,

Scorpio degrees- 8°, 20°: secrets, death, sex, insurances, taxes, jealousy, pregnancy, manifestation, wealth, to take from others, and borrowing.

Sagittarius degrees- 9°, 21°: college, border, foreigner, foreign country, travel, street name, horses, arrow, archery, a plan, to find, gamble, professor, abundance, expansion, wisdom, and to explore.

Capricorn degrees- 10°, 22°: public office, public official, coal, slow, delay, decay, cold, fear, depression, control, the color black, ambition, father, coldness, and public attention.

Aquarius degrees- 11°, 23°: divorce, surprises, flying, a high place, high tech, engineering, new technology, helping others, friends, organizations, humanitarianism, su*cide, networking, electrician, and electricity.

Pisces degrees- 12°, 24°: Swimming, water, rain, flood, fog, unclear, secret, hospital, drugs, alcohol, prison, painter, p*rnography, sleeping, shadows, madness, the psyche, lethargy, and our unconscious.

šŸ’‹Ā Stand-out DegreesĀ šŸ’‹

0°: Purest form of the sign, i.e. if you have Aquarius Mercury in 0°, you embody that placement.

2°: From what I’ve gathered about this degree, it’s a very powerful one to have. It is literally the degree of supreme power and are well positioned to accomplish big things. Nikola has claimed that throughout his research, he has found that people with planets, houses, lunar nodes, vertex, the 4 cardinal points (AC, IC, DC, MC), and aspects have all been linked to making remarkable achievements and were highly respected. I have Moon in the 2° so we’ll see what happensā€¦šŸ‘€

5°: This is the degree of eroticism. It’s connected to beauty, and charm. Many sex symbols like Marilyn Monroe had this in their chart. It can also be a fame indicator as well, as it is a Leo degree. He stated himself that this is one of the best degrees to have as it is all about enjoying life and having fun. I have this degree in Mars, I’m still waiting for the fun to happen

6°: Can indicate a love affair at work if it is on the 5th house cusp. (i.e. your 5th house being in the 6° degree).

7°: Can indicate affairs while married if it is on the 5th house cusp. scandalous.

11°: So I saw a few different meanings for this degree. One source said it indicates massive wealth, and another said that Aquarius degrees indicate divorce, but Nikola said that 11° is more connected to su*cide. Personally, I know people with this degree, and they’ve never shown an indication that they would do something like that. So take this one with a grain of salt.Ā

15°: This aspect indicates car accidents. To a more extreme degree it indicates assassination, m*rder or killing. Remember, this manifests differently for everyone. I can’t stress this enough.Ā

18°: So apparently this aspect is ā€œpure evilā€. Before I continue, I personally don’t think it’s this evil and awful degree. It manifests differently for everyone. At its worst, it can indicate rare diseases, tragic accidents, and making someone ā€œevilā€. Imo, I think that this degree can indicate difficulties in life, I have it in the 12th and my best friend has it in her sun sign, and we’ve had difficult lives but we haven’t encountered any rare diseases or tragic accidents *knock on wood*. Nor are we evil LMAO. So I wouldn’t worry if you have this degree.Ā As for health issues, I think where you have it can indicate where you’re prone to get health issues. I have it in the 12th house which is the psyche, and I have anxiety and depression. However, this does NOT mean that you’ll get those illnesses and that they’ll be rare or extreme in anyway. Sorry I kinda rambled here.Ā

20°: Jealousy and/or revenge. Where this shows in the chart could show an area where someone is jealous or if the person is the type to want to seek revenge.

22°: Again, take this with a grain of salt. Nikola stated that he’s found this degree in the charts of murderers as well as those who have been murdered. Remember that degrees manifest differently for everyone. Donald Trump has this and he’s still here. Like other posts I’ve seen here on Tumblr, I agree that it can refer to more of a figurative death (Ā @astrroloaries ). It can also refer to destruction, a loved one passing away, and grief. Also, @saintzjenx stated in her post about this degree that it can refer to abandonment. So again, be skeptical with this one.Ā

23°: This is the degree that’s used more for divorce, now I will say that I’ve seen this degree in the charts of divorced people. However, this won’t apply to everyone, like other degrees we discussed they all manifest differently.Ā

29°: This degree can indicate clairvoyance and high potential. I discussed this in another post, so I’m going to just copy and paste what I said.Ā ā€œOne theory states that the person has clairvoyant potential. Other astrologers has found that it can signal destruction, i.e. Donald Trump has this. This is debated however, Nikola Stojanovic (the main creator of the degree theory) believes that this degree is benefic. It is also said that this degree can symbolize karma from a previous life, and that there’s a lesson that you didn’t learn from a past life and brought it into this life. It is also said that people with this degree challenge the status quo and could be impulsive. Also you might be impulsive when it comes to expressing your feelings and emotions.ā€Ā

šŸ’‹ Ā My Thoughts + How I apply themĀ šŸ’‹

Okay, so now that we’ve gotten through each degree, I personally think that the degrees show more of theĀ ā€œthemesā€ in the particular house or planet that it it’s in, rather than assigning personal characteristics. For example, I have my Sun in the 3°, while I have some Gemini influence in my chart, I also am a Gemini in sidereal astrology. So I can’t exactly say that the degree is the reason why I come off as one. However, since the sun is your basic identity and path of life I can say I’ve had these kinds of themes in my life. I’ve struggled a lot with expressing myself and communicating. Also, writing is a big part of my life as I’ve stated that I struggle with saying my feelings, so I tend to write them. Also I love to read, and since Gemini refers toĀ ā€œdoubleā€, I am double jointed LMAO. Kind of reaching there. So I like to say that it manifests more as themes, rather than personality traits! Essentially, if your Sun is in a different zodiac degree than your zodiac sign, it wouldn’t make you like that sign, it would give you themes regarding that zodiac sign, like I stated with my own example.Ā

Same thing can be applied to the houses. My IC is in the 25° which is an Aries degree and I had a very rough childhood. I fought with my parents a lot, and I dealt with my fair share of bullying (technically ab*se in a way). I also used to be very athletic, I would play a bunch of different sports. Also kind of reaching again, but my neighbor when I used to live in my childhood home is a cop (as this degree also rules the police).

So, for my next degree post I’m going to talk about how to view degrees for each of the houses and planets. Again, these are just my opinions!Ā

I hope this was informative for everyone, this was kind of a long post, and I spent a lot of time on it.Ā

When you're marrying or giving it a thought, check your s/o Moon sign's nakshatra 'Gana'

'Gana' means Clan. Gana matching is very important for a long term commitment or relationships

In Vedic astrology, there are 3 ganas:

Dev gana(divine, godly category)

Manisha/Manushya gana (human, earthly category)

Rakshasa gana (devil category, sort of tamasika)

If any of these are not compatible, its known as 'Gana Dosha'. But one exception is if your sign lord are good /mutual, or if the ppl involved have same Navamsha, this Dosha won't be taken into account.

Dev gana people have good intuition, their spiritual manifestation works faster than the latter two. They won't hesitate to help people. Stubborn. Don't change thier views or themselves easily. Can be prideful.

Manushya gana people are human like, they are people who are obedient to the elders and are ethical. May not help others but are mixed.

Rakshasa gana people are dominating/bossy (in a good way tho) they have a good direction of things and are impulsive too. Go getters. Can easily read energies. Cruel and selfish at times.

Side note: In Hindu epics, even the demons (called 'daityas', 'danav', 'asur' or 'Rakshas') possessed as much powers as the gods and demi-gods. (Or even more, but it depends on the penance)

So here's the thing, compatibility between these are important:

1) Dev gana combos

Dev Gana + Manushya gana= good šŸ‘but the dev gana would be dominating. Unity is nice, lesser conflicts. Harmonious relationship. (5pts are rewarded)

Dev Gana + Dev gana= Very good understanding between both. UnityšŸŽ€. Perfect for marriage or any relationship (6pts are rewarded for this combo)

Dev Gana + Rakshasa gana= not compatible. Since the clans are total opposite, there maybe fights, adjustments are only valid till a limit. Don't get along well due to the polarity in their thoughts.

2) Manushya Gana combos.

Manushya + Manushya= again, same thinking, good unity between partners.

Manushya + Rakshasa= this is where the bad news comes, humans can't rule over devils, so this thing is a problem in the relation. The Manushya gana person gets dominated by the Rakshasa gana. The cruelty of the Rakshas gana person starts showing up. Lots of power play (if the other placements in the chart state otherwise). (Idk if true but, my grandma used to believe that in this combo, either of the partner lives, and mostly it is the least dominant party which is taken away, lol) (0pts for this combo)

šŸ’™ Dev Gana nakshatras: Ashwini, Mrisgshirsha, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Swati, Anuradha, Shravana, Revati.

ā¤ļø Rakshasa Gana nakshatras: Krittika, Ashlesha, Magha, Chitra, Vishakha, Jyeshtha, Moola, Dhanista, Satabhisha

🧔 Manushya Gana nakshatras: Bharani, Rohini, Ardra, Purvaphalguni, Uttaraphalguni, Purvashada, Uttarashada, Purvabhadrapada, Uttarabhadrapada.

In conclusion, i would say, please don't base your opinion solely on this Gana of Nakshatras, other things in the d9 chart and the natal horoscopes are important and are being taken into account, this thing is just a part of it.

That's all for today, i hope you enjoyed this post āœØšŸ–¤
