Very young and brave, he went in adventure in a search for his old friend, who managed to train the dragons and brought peace to the kingdoms. He searched, searched and searched and almost lost hope when once… he stepped onto the land of the dragons.
I was happy to participate as an artist in the @bakudekubigbang this year!! :) this is the first of 2 pieces for the fic I chose to draw for, Through Cataclysm by @sound–wave! it’s a neat story involving parallel universes, check it out :D there’ll be another one later when the corresponding chapter goes up! thanks to my partner for all his hard work on this story and to the mods for running the event ❤️
Chapter 10 (i.e., before atonement was a glimmer in this kid’s eye), when he realizes that self-destructive Deku now has a quirk that enables his self-destruction, which Bakugou can’t stop even if he goes all out:
vs. chapter 284 (i.e., when he feels deeply responsible for Deku’s safety), with full knowledge of just how destructive OFA can be, never mind in the hands of someone with -8347 self-preservation instincts:
Even when his attitude toward Deku has done almost a complete 180, Bakugou’s response to OFA is the same. Despite his temper, Bakugou is actually a pretty rational, calculating person, at least when it comes to combat and cost-benefit analysis. It isn’t surprising that he couldn’t comprehend Deku’s complete disregard for himself, even when he was still actively pushing him away.
These are two of the only moments I can think of when Bakugou looks genuinely scared of something (not surprised or uneasy), and I think it’s largely because it’s something he doesn’t understand—that is, Deku. In the second instance, though, that old, underlying fear is compounded by the fear of loss.
Hey, Izuku... Can I still catch up to you?
This scene was made for them
it probably happened at some point
Watching Season 2! And all I can think about was the end of the manga and these two!!
Joining in on that ship dynamics meme hehe
Izuku has rivalries, he has friends.
But Bakugou Katsuki is not just a rival, not just a friend, and not just a bully. Certainly, not just some childhood friend.
He is Izuku’s inspiration, the person closest to him who was put on a pedestal next to fucking All Might, Who was basically considered a god in the MHA universe before his retirement.
All Might asked Izuku to step into his shoes in the next Symbol- hewas ready to break his bones in the tournament to win
All Might said he always saves the people within his reach - Izuku nearly killed himself to secure Kouta and save Kacchan
All Might knows Izuku’s spirit and desperation is a fearsome thing. And Katsuki is threatened by it.
Izuku trying to save Kacchan…repeatedly, at the cost of his own damn life…
How he cried like his damn soul was ripped out of his body after Kacchan was taken away.
Tell me one more time that Izuku hates Katsuki, and I’ll show you a devotion beyond words.
But you know what? Katsuki is never going to do that because he is the one person who is intimately aware of everything Izuku can sacrifice in the name of devotion.
And I for one, am really thankful that Katsuki will never dare ask anything of him.
You can call it his Pride. I’ll call it his Fear.
Because the one thing Katsuki fears above everything else is ‘Izuku’s Spirit’
bruh do you ever think about the mental gynastics Bakugo has to go through to convince himself deku isn't the love of his life? The levels of DENIAL he has to experience. It's wild
