The HTML comment element is used to add a comment to your HTML document. The HTML comments will not be seen by a visitor to your website and are used exclusively as notes for the web developer.

The HTML comment tag starts like this <!-- and it and it ends or better yet closes like this -->, it does not have a slash </> at the end like many other HTML tags.
