Headcanon That Tara's Backstory Is For Real Basically The Backstory She Gave The Psychic Guy Rand In

Headcanon that Tara's backstory is for real basically the backstory she gave the psychic guy Rand in The Future Job, but it goes a little more like this: Tara worked for the FBI but when she got diagnosed with a brain tumor they fired her and she had to come up with the money to pay for brain surgery somehow so she turned her training to the other side of the law. This is why she agrees to help the team and why Sophie asked her in the first place and it's also why she's so set on getting paid (she's never going to be that desperate ever again and if she gave up her law-abiding-ness for crime it's most definitely going to pay).

I think my favorite thing about The Old Guard is that, as weird as it sounds, all the immortals have human limits. Like, yeah, they can’t die and they heal hella fast, but the writers didn’t inexplicably translate that into them having superhuman speed or strength or agility like I’ve seen in many other superhero media.

I Think My Favorite Thing About The Old Guard Is That, As Weird As It Sounds, All The Immortals Have

They get tired. I’ve honestly never seen so much sleeping in an action movie.

I Think My Favorite Thing About The Old Guard Is That, As Weird As It Sounds, All The Immortals Have

And they can be restrained with zip ties and buckles and held down by normal-ass dudes and get the shit beat out of them because of course they can.

I Think My Favorite Thing About The Old Guard Is That, As Weird As It Sounds, All The Immortals Have

When they’re injured, they act like it. Even if its just for a few seconds. They moan and groan and limp and wince and never try to pull any of that dumb macho “I’m used to it” bullshit. Pain fucking hurts no matter how many times you experience it and this movie expresses that beautifully. Immortal doesn’t mean invincible.

ethan hunt is actually a perfect protagonist because he’s a huge bitch, distractingly pretty, and divorced—all of which are essential—but also he kind of wants to die but god won’t let him, is in a situationship with his best friend who definitely would, is a rebecca ferguson simp, can never decide if he likes his hair long or short so he’s constantly growing it out and cutting it again, has more trauma packed into his tight little short king frame than should be possible, and is obsessed with always wearing a cute little jacket

So, As A Cook And A Former Intense Athlete, I Have To Be Hella Conscious About Keeping In Shape And Not
So, As A Cook And A Former Intense Athlete, I Have To Be Hella Conscious About Keeping In Shape And Not

So, as a cook and a former intense athlete, I have to be hella conscious about keeping in shape and not gaining a shit ton of weight by inhaling everything I eat 24/7. This is why, when I can, I like to work with healthier shit to combat all the creamy, sugar and fat filled delicacies I make like 24/7. For everyone like me who’s working on staying in shape or being healthy, this recipes for you, my precious weeb losers. Based on the Honey Lemon Slices from Kuroko no Basuke (my current obsession), I decided to do my own take on this insanely good for you Japanese treat. OH. AND FUN FACT ABOUT THESE. IT’S A SNACK AND A DRINK ALL IN ONE. You’ll find out what I’m talking about later.

~ Honey Lemon Slices (serves: an entire fucking basketball team ayyoo)

-

Ingredients-

2 lemons

enough honey to fully cover all the lemons*

½ tsp cinnamon

½ tsp  ginger

7 mint leaves (for later)

4 cups water (for later)

*So fun fact for all your plebs out there: there’s like 5 million types of honeys that vary in not only flavor, but texture. For this recipe, I used a creamy clover honey mixed with a more transparent, thick chestnut honey to combat the sweetness with some bitterness from the chestnut. Use whatever the fuck you want, but if you’re using a raw, or creamy honey, mix it with some water to make it more liquidy and stuff.

~ Procedure-

Thinly slice the lemons, making sure you’re using basically everything but the ends and REMOVE ALL THE SEEDS HOLY SHIT.

Once they’re all sliced, mix your honey with the cinnamon and ginger until it’s all combined. Then, take a glass tupperware container thing and cover the bottom with a thin layer of your honey mixture.

On top of that, add one layer of lemon slices, and then just alternate between honey and lemon slices until you finished all the lemon slices.

Once that’s done, pour in the remainder of your honey mixture so that it completely covers the lemons, and then cover that with a lid and throw it in the fridge.

Keep it chilled for at least 2 days, and no more than 3 days. Try and shake or mix the container at least twice a day so that the lemon juices can mix with the honey.

Once that’s all done, throw it in the freezer for about 10-15 minutes so that they’re hella chilled, and then remove the lemon slices from the container.

After they’re all plated and shit, combine 4 cups of water, 7 mint leaves, and hell, some ice cubes, with the liquid in the tupperware container.

Defeat your basketball foes with your incredible jumps and your moe qualities.

~ TADAH MOTHERFUCKER. You just made a hella healthy treat for you and your shit weeb friends to eat and drink while you’re watching kawaii dudes dripping glittery sparkle sweat all over the B-Ball courts.

Make this during the summer when you want something cold, sweet and healthy to devour, make em when you’re sick to get some radical antioxidants and vitamin C or whatever, just make them all the fucking time I dare you, you pieces of shit. ALRIGHTY. THAT’S ALL FOR THIS RECIPE. STAY TUNED FOR MORE RECIPES THAT WILL DEFINITELY NOT INVOLVE KUROKO NO BASUKE IN SOME WAY (maybe probably i think sort of) Later, nerds.

oh my god season four of leverage is fucking DIABOLICAL. how the fuck are you gonna open with the long way down job, and then hit with the van gogh job carnival job AND the grave danger job in just the first half ??? i swear to god i was shaking out of my skin all through the second half of the grave danger job. and where is aldis hodge’s oscar ??? the shaky voice the constant tears the frantic ripping at the inside of the coffin ?? i was literally holding my phone at arm’s length trying not to cry for him i swear.

i have to appreciate the directors here because i think they did a fantastic job focusing on harrison’s situation and really emphasizing the peril and dread the whole team was working through. the fevered search of the city, the awful moment when parker and sophie have to abandon their shovels and duck for cover, and harrison is left panicked and alone— that shit HURT y’all. it HURT. (i will say that the way the coffin was apparently uncovered off screen was a bit off— they only got a few shovels in before the guy started shooting, i thought, but oh well)

and obviously the hugging at the end. fuck kissing on screen hugging is where it’s at. eliot literally diving over gravestones to get to the coffin and pull hardison out and then clutching him like he’s trying to absorb the poor guy into his bloodstream ??? i will simply never be the same. and the perfect touch of beth riesgraf looking absolutely fucking devastated before turning away because she’s so so so wrecked about this but she’s not ready for that hug…. leverage writers need to square up because that was one fucked up episode and it also delivered on every characterization front ever. leverage is the gift that fucking giving y’all

leverage is so fucking funny. man manages to find the most mentally ill and neurodivergent group of thieves on the market + an even more mentally ill guy whose literal job description was trying to chase all of them, and forces them into a found family speed-run by trying to blow them all up. they lowkey stage a full fucking country wide coup and are like eh 🤷 just another wednesday. this might be a fun place to vacation tho i guess. sophie shows up to her own funeral twice. they're so good at convincing people of their shit that they make a guy's body start reacting to an illness he doesn't have because it isn't real. go completely out on a limb and basically hand this one guy a new password for his computer so they can get into it and he goes with it. parker and hardison have straight up just "fake it 'till you make it"d into the fbi without even attempting to cover their tracks beyond just These Two Guys. half their clients never asked to be their clients and don't know they're their clients, and the other half are random people who find them who fuckin knows how, meanwhile no government agency can track them down without selling their soul to sterling. they make a point to have a dramatic scene w a Big Bad Shadowy Government Guy who doesn't actually get caught or brought to justice or anything telling them he's going to hunt them all down, and in any other show this would probably earn at least a minor arc later on but he literally never shows up again. an entire season finale hinged on a cake and a bunch of clams. they accidentally made eliot a celebrity not once, not twice, but three times. parker blew up her foster parents' house when she was like. nine. and it's hardly a footnote. hardison is just casually an artistic prodigy but it's only ever brought up for the most background of background gags. eliot's biggest beef with parker and hardison for like two and a half seasons is that they won't stop making weird food with lasers and refuse to realize they can't make a decent beer to save their lives. sophie's immediate response to being shot is to call her shooter a wanker. there's a character who has literally killed a man with a mop and they had the audacity to only put her in one episode.

ooh what's lockwood and co about should i watch it?

WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK THIS HERE WE FUCKIN GO BROS

So Lockwood & Co is a netflix series based on a book series of the same name. Essentially it's about ghosts and ghost hunters, but with a twist: It's set in our time, but not our time as we know it.

Basically, around the 1970s, ghosts just like. Appeared. For no reason we've been able to figure out. People would die, and their malevolent ghost would come back, especially if they died in a particularly traumatic way. They called this The Problem. The thing about these ghosts, is that if they touch you, you die, and if you make eye contact with one for too long, you become Ghost-Locked, which basically send you into a coma. We're not sure what Ghost-Locked victims see in this coma but they always look horrified so we can assume it's not great. There seem to be 3 types of ghosts: Type Ones are what you normally picture for a ghost, Type Twos can make illusions and are more powerful, and Type Threes are incredibly rare and they can talk and communicate with certain people.

Then there are the ghost hunters. Now ghost hunters are always children, usually teens, because as you grow older you lose your Talent, your ability to sense ghosts/death. There are 3 types of Talents: Seeing, Hearing, Touching.

Another thing about this world is that there's no Internet. You can see in the theme song piles of old broken computers, and I'm not sure it's explained yet WHY the internet was never invented, but we assume it's because of The Problem somehow. But this means that the newspaper and news on tv is mainly how information gets around, and any research done has to come from a library and books.

So basically in this world there are companies that pay teens to hunt for ghosts and get rid of them. The companies are usually run by adults though, so it's fraught with awful shit, they often treat these kids like they're just tools and not like they're actual people. Often the kids don't actually get paid themselves, because their parents can control where their money gets paid to, so parents will send of their kids to ghost war and rake in the money safe at home. Capitalism god ahold of The Problem and figured out how to make hella money of of it, so a lot of these companies that are supposed to help people are actually super corrupt and awful to their employees.

Unless of course, you're Lockwood & Co

Ooh What's Lockwood And Co About Should I Watch It?

These dorks look at em

50 years after the start of The Problem, Anthony Lockwood, the guy on the right, is an orphaned teenager who decided he wanted to start his own ghost hunting company, and the "Co" part of the name includes the two on the left, George Karim and Lucy Carlyle. They run their own 3 person company free from exploitation from adults, which other companies (run by adults) really really hate. Lockwood has a Seeing Talent, Lucy has a Hearing Talent, and George has a Touching Talent.

Basically, these 3 kids are hired for a job getting rid of a ghost, only they find out that this ghost is one of a woman who was murdered, and not of a guy who fell down the stairs like they thought. They look deeper and deeper into this murder mystery and keep uncovering shit that other ghost companies do NOT want them to be uncovering. Things that go beyond exploitation of kids, more murders, weird artifacts, things that might even explain the origins of The Problem itself. So Lockwood & Co decide they want to figure it all out, or die trying.

This show is heartwarming, it's funny, its mysterious, it's got ALL THE FOUND FAMILY VIBES and I think it's a real hidden gem in the piles of TV shows on Netflix. It's been in the top 10 shows on netflix for a bit, but I've never really heard anyone talk about it, I just stumbled upon it when looking for something to watch one day. All in all, yes, you should definitely watch it please please please do it, I swear to god of Netflix cancels this show I'm going to riot
