I’ve seen a lot of incredibly negative posts of people speaking about “what kind of person” Carlos Sainz Jr is.

So let me tell you about the kind of person I think he is.

Carlos is the kind of person who, instead of celebrating his own podium after Abu Dhabi, was running around the paddock behind Lewis Hamilton desperately trying to make sure he was okay.

Carlos is the kind of person who took a 19-year-old Lando Norris under his wing and showed him the ropes. Showed him nothing but love and patience and support and guided him through the F1 circus while still trying to navigate it all himself.

Carlos is the kind of person who is always there to praise his fellow drivers when they do well. Who congratulates Charles Leclerc with unbridled joy and happiness whenever he does well, even though your teammate is supposed to be your biggest rival. Who said he was proud of George Russell for being the new Mr. Consistency. Who openly applauded Max Verstappen after their fight in Canada.

Carlos is the kind of person who, in the middle of his first win, took the time to post about Zhou Guanyu and Alex Albon saying how thankful he was that they were both okay.

Carlos is the kind of person who took the time out of his day to meet with Karun’s son. Who spoke with a young differently-abled Ferrari fan and took time to read the letter he’d given him. Who holds Rupert’s daughter close to him with the world’s biggest smile on his face.

Carlos is the kind of person who is fiercely loyal to his family and friends. Who unashamedly shows his love and respect for his mother and his sisters. Who openly raves about his father’s achievements. Who attributes all his successes to the people around him.

Carlos is the kind of person who is always willing to make jokes about himself, and let himself be the butt of the joke. He’s the kind of person who isn’t afraid to act like a complete idiot and make a fool of himself. Who has a laugh that is so contagious you can’t help but giggle along with him.

Carlos is the kind of person who is incredibly hard on himself all the time. Who is never completely satisfied with whatever he’s achieving and is always pushing himself to be better. Who never complains and takes every punch on the chin.

I could go on and on, but that is the kind of person Carlos Sainz Jr is to me. Caring, empathetic, selfless, intelligent, funny, hard working. If you think differently, feel free to unfollow me because I will never, ever stop singing his praises.

I think we can all agree that post-Montreal, Carlos was subjected to about one thousand hours of Lando being the human equivalent of >:( and complaining about pit stops and P15s but then they made out about it so problem solved.

but imagine carlos met lando when he was in f3 or f4 and lando already in f1, they met in some award show or something and lando pat carlos’ hair and went “oh i will see you in f1! good luck” and carlos immediately knew he got this crush on lando AND fast forward years later they met again when they become teammates, carlos is 19, lando is 24 and carlos is growing taller and broader, where he could pick up lando easily when he got his first podium with mclaren, or even put his head on the top of lando’ head and it’s lando’s turn to go red because this kid manhandled him, grab his waist when they’re walking together, and being super sweet to him

...i am intrigued...i must admit...you have moderately convinced me which is no small feat. also he's so HAIRY and lando looks at his own chest and is like :/ why am i not hairy i'm like five years older than him and i think it's kind of this thing of do i want to be him or do i want him WAIT HE'S FIVE YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME WHY WOULD I WANT TO BE HIM- oh no process of elimination.

damn stef lost because he had to play a match over two days and two matches over the course of one day,, can't fault the planning committee board/organisation thing (idk what it's called) because they have to follow the schedule and the rain interrupted it.. but yeah stef could've played better and he looked tired tbh

I’m pissed about Charles’ race, but hating on Carlos for consistently demonstrating an understanding that Ferrari’s strategies are shit doesn’t make sense. Everybody knows their strategies are shit. We know it. Children know it. Dogs know it. Carlos does something about it.
