When Vi and Caitlyn are caught up in an explosion from an Arcane stone after Vi broke into some rich Piltie’s apartment, a magical bond is formed between them and won’t let them be further than 15 feet apart from one another, physically—and dangerously—wrenching them back together if they try. With the study of magic banned in Piltover, learning how to undo it will not be an easy task and they must remain close to each other until the bond is dissolved. Vi is angry that she is forced to be tethered to some privileged Piltie and, while Caitlyn is excited to finally meet someone from Zaun, she is quickly disillusioned by how unfairly Vi treats her for something that wasn’t her fault. Can the two teenagers learn to get along until their tether can be broken? Or will this magical bond only cause a bigger rift to divide two people from opposite sides of the city?

"Have a huge gala scene with lots of characters and advance the intrigue and have Caitlyn and Vi be each other's date to it, so there's gotta be some tension, but also don't forget the plot, oh and make it opulent and majestic, but be sure that Vi has conflicted feelings about being at such a party because she's from Zaun, but also make sure her and Cassandra have some great moments, too. BUT DON'T FORGET THE PLOT!"

Hello again Caitlyn Kirammans, it's me, the one with the questions. I thank you for answering me yesterday (or 2 days ago) for the questions about your story Low Lays the Devil in Me and the future of it.

I still have some doubts about it like:

Low Lays the Devil in Me takes place in 2 scenarios which are the corruption in the Piltover Council with Caitlyn and the Shimmer cover-up in Stillwater Prison with Vi (if I remember correctly, correct me if I'm wrong🤔) and Sevika will be Vi's partner in the prison.

1: Will Sevika have some relevance in Stillwater's story and her relationship with Vi? (maybe inspired by Orange the New Black if you know the series or how it happens inside the prisons)

2: Will there be some romance as Sevika x OC?

3: Are you a League of Legends veteran?

4: Will you make fanfics from other fandoms in the future or exclusively from arcane?

Hello! I am happy to answer questions 😁 and you are right. Vi is focusing on getting evidence of shimmer production in Stillwater and Caitlyn is focusing on Corina and the Chembarons’ influence on the Council.

1. I do have serious plans for Sevika. This first bit of the story unfortunately with her and Vi in prison, we don’t get to interact with her too much since Caitlyn only has access to her for 30 min a week. But! They have talked about getting both Vi and Sevika out of prison. They just need to gain access to the shimmer factory, which takes time.

2. I don’t currently have any plans for Sevika being involved in any romance sub plots but that’s not because I don’t want to. I am making 75% of this up as I go along, so if it comes up later that Sevika has chemistry with someone, then I will definitely explore that through Caitlyn’s eyes.

3. I have never once played League and I don’t have plans to. I don’t think I’ve even seen more than 10 seconds of gameplay 😅 but I have done a lot of reading up of LoL lore of Noxus, Piltover, and Zaun. I find the world building of this game very interesting, but LoL itself is not the kind of game I’d like to play and the horror stories of its fanbase frighten me 😅

4. I have written fanfic in the past for other fandoms, but never with this kind of excitement and the ones I’ve written for Arcane are far and away my most well received fics. I won’t say I’ll stick exclusively to Arcane, but I don’t foresee me being gripped by another show like Arcane has gripped me anytime soon. Never say never though.

It doesn’t like those crystals,” Caitlyn explained, taking in a stuttered breath. “It’s afraid of them.” All three scientists gave each other a questioning look before Jayce turned to Vi and Caitlyn. “The Arcane can’t feel,” he said slowly. “It’s a natural phenomenon. Like rain or an earthquake. It has no emotions.” “Tell that to the thing in my chest that’s scared, because it sure as shit ain’t me that’s afraid,” Vi said with a frown, annoyed that this scientist refuted them when he wasn’t the one experiencing it. Viktor walked over to the chest and picked up a crystal, then held it out to the tether. The white blue light grew brighter, almost blinding, and the fear became stronger. The need to escape from the room was almost uncontrollable as Vi felt a burning sensation behind her eyes. “Please, stop! It’s afraid of it,” Caitlyn cried out, tears in her eyes.

Vi’s look of such soft affection made Caitlyn’s heart feel like it had forgotten how to properly work. “You look beautiful,” Vi whispered reverently. She didn’t care if she was a few minutes late, Caitlyn moved forward and kissed Vi, hoping she could feel how much she loved her in it.

Vi watched the two Kiramman women stare at each other for what felt like an eternity. Caitlyn had once mentioned before that while she and Cassandra are very close, their shared stubbornness can lead to more frequent arguments than Caitlyn and her father have. Vi did not want a front row seat to this. She backed away towards the door.  “I’ll give you some privacy. See you tom—” “Stay,” Caitlyn commanded, her eyes never leaving Cassandra’s. “I don’t want her to have the chance to spin this conversation to you in any way that benefits her. I want to hear what she has to say to justify herself in front of you.” Vi didn’t need to look at Cassandra to know that the councilor would tell her to listen to Caitlyn. This is what they’ve been waiting for and they needed to see how far Caitlyn would go for this.

Vi swallowed and nuzzled close into Caitlyn’s hair. “Are you ready to talk about it?” There was a long silence, so long that Vi wondered if Caitlyn had fallen asleep. “No,” Caitlyn finally whispered. Vi hugged her closer and buried her face in Caitlyn’s neck, the scent of pansies calming the fear that hadn’t truly left her since that night in the Wharf. “When we are ready, can we promise we’ll come to each other first. No holding back?” Vi pleaded, her voice shaking with emotion. Caitlyn brought Vi’s hand that held hers up to her lips, where she kissed every knuckle. Vi felt her own lower lip tremble. “I promise.”

So this next chapter gave me some troubles with starting it. With every chapter I’ve had no issues just sitting down and start typing and figuring it out as I go. I think because we’re nearing the end (maybe 6-7 chapters left) that I was starting to worry about pulling everything together. So, I spent a good few hours last night thinking about where the story was and where I want it to go for the sequel and now I’m even more excited and inspired 😁 I had to redo the first 1000 words of the next chapter 3 times, but I got there. Hopefully I’ll have the next chapter out today, but no promises.
